Welcome to the January 2021 exercise thread!

If you’re returning, we’re excited to have you back! If you’re new, welcome to the team! Here’s how it works:

Each person chooses a time goal and posts minutes towards that goal as they exercise. You can post daily or just catch up when you can. You decide what movement counts towards your goal - which can be a nice round total for the month, a specific number that means something to you, or a calculation based on a target number of minutes per day.

Since January has 31 days, here are some common conversions:

15 minutes/day = 465
20 minutes/day = 620
30 minutes/day = 930
45 minutes/day = 1395
1 hour/day = 1860

One of the special motivations of our Disney challenge is color changing! Page one will be updated with individual and team color changes as we make more and more progress.

10% - Blue
25% - Orange
50% - Purple
75% - Pink
90% - Red
100% - Green


We’re officially starting this challenge on January 1, but if you don’t find the thread until later in the month, you’re still welcome to join!! There's no better time than the present to start toward your goals! Just post your goal and I’ll add you to the list. Hi! I'm brand new, don't have a team (unless there's a team Haunted Mansion or team Figment, which is an automatic yes). My goal this month is 600 minutes. :) Starting small in hopes of not injuring myself. (Will come back to edit this post after this afternoon's workout.)

20 minutes of yoga. I had big plans for a walk outside but wow....35' and rain certainly kills my motivation.

After last slothful Netflix weekend, I finally put on my sneakers and hit the trail for 30 minutes - would've done more but the legs complained. Hopefully I'll build up more after a few days of this.
I'll aim for 500 minutes for the month (30/500)

@Raya, I'm sorry I didn't see your edited post with new minutes added when I updated earlier. I've fixed that and am happy to announce that you are very close to reaching blue as well!

@BonnieF, a slothful Netflix weekend sounds lovely! : ) But, then again, so does a hike! Hope it was pretty and not too cold for you. Glad you are joining in!
 
Hi! I'm new here too. Due to the awful year that was 2020, I have about 30 lbs to lose, I'd like to lose 15 by the end of march so maybe some of my Disney clothes fit for my trip (end of march). So I'm going to start with a goal of 1000. Does yoga count or just cardio type exercise?

Edited to add: I've got about 15 in so far today doing squats, burpees and walking. But also 5k steps so far (that I'm not counting towards exercise. One of my activity goals is to do a beachbody yoga workout everyday at lunch. Then work up to 100 squats per day (cause I have no butt lol). Plus just moving around more. But I'm stuck at a desk in a tiny office so I'm kind of limited during the day.
