January 2016 Discount Code Watch

I was just sent the link to this thread and was wondering if anyone knew which is a better discount, or if pairing is even an option as well....is spd or military rates better? We will do dining package and stay on property but were planning on getting tickets on base. Thanks. Hoping to figure it out for when the codes finally come out for our trip in January!

I think I saw some where they have not been offering Visa holders early discounts.

For the Stay play and dine offered this past January, Disney Visa card holders were able to book three days before general public. I think the dates for visa was 10/6 while gen public was 10/9.

I asked today. And was told discounts usually come out 4 to 6 months before stay dates. So they surely will be doing something soon...or at least I hope so!

Hi, you do have to choose one or the other discount, you can't stack. There is lots of great information at Steve's Disney Military Tips site. Here's a link to the blog page: http://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/
You can sign up at his site and he'll let you know when there is a new Salute discount offered. It sounds like there will be one for 2016, so that's good news. It's just waiting to hear when we can book.

Can someone explain to me what the SPD promo is about? I seem to cant remember. I know it means Stay Plan and Dine.

Last year there was the Stay Play Dine package discount which worked like this:

I read through that thread - thanks for the link! It seems that the main finding was a consistent 55% off the cost of dining. But it looks like that was calculated only for the Quick Serve and Regular plans. Does anyone know if the 55% was consistent off the cost of the deluxe plan as well? In the past we've gone for free dining and upgraded to the deluxe in order to do as many character meals as possible. I was going to scale back this year, but if there was a hefty enough discount, that might change my planning

This waiting is like when I am watching TV and there are so many commercials on that I forget what show I have been watching. Well, if/when they finally do release these discounts I think I have forgotten what I wanted to book.

Don't they normally release the promos in blocks of months or seasons? Would the next release include Jan-April or Jan-March most likely?

I'd love to join in. I am planning my family's very first trip for January 30th thru February 6th (may adjust a day or two). I haven't actually booked yet, which I hope doesn't mean we will have trouble booking. I was really hoping to wait until the new discounts were released. Hubby and I are taking our son who will turn 4 in early January. I know he will be so excited, but I must admit....I'll be just as excited. LOL. Waiting impatiently for the release of Jan/Feb discounts.

Us too heading January 29th - Feb 12th but hoping for 5-6 days in WDW at the start of the trip
Our youngest turns 4 on the 31st so trying to plan our days around that too

I so agree with you on this! We always upgrade to the Deluxe Dining Plan and I think that they should discount accordingly! Just as they do for a Deluxe Resort for the Room Only Discount!

Hmmmmmm I wonder what the other major announcement will be??? Maybe Toy Story Mania expansion opening date or Disney Springs??? I would love it if Soarin expansion or Animal Kingdoms night show would open before the end of January!
