Hi Fellow Disers!

I'm planning a family trip for Jan 4-12, 2014. I'm so glad to see so many others planning early. It'll be my son's First Disney trip to celebrate his 5th birthday and my daughter's 2nd trip to celebrate her 10th Birthday. Haven't decided which resort to book??? Waiting on free dining or a great room only discount!

Would LOVE free dining again - never had used the dining plan before but now we are hooked. We do lots of Character meals and boy can they be expensive

Hmm... we may have made a fatal flaw... our dates are going to be right over MLK weekend and I see the crowd estimate is a whopping 10!! I have never seen this side of an 8. Did we make a huge mistake? We could always just hang out at the lodge for our arrival day which is that Sunday and make the best of Monday - it looks like it calms down after that. Has anyone here been in Jan before and can confirm?

We were there over MLK weekend last year and those were the most crowded days but we have seen it more crowded other times of the year. We are also going over MLK next year and might just steer clear of the MK. I do understand from reading the forum that this year Jan was very crowded so the crowds might well have been much larger than our trip last year.

I was looking at the touring plans for 2014 and it was claiming MK was a best park for both days even though its at 8/8.5- I was surprised!

WOW - crowded thorough Wednesday. Geez - we are going to be hitting the two busiest Jan weekends - the marathon and MLK weekend. Oh well - we will be in DISNEY with our FAMILY and that is truly what matters. PLUS we do not have to battle the heat and humidity of summer in Florida. Being from New England - I am NOT a fan of humidity, although right about now when they are talking about perhaps 16 inches of snow (give or take) a little heat would be welcome to turn it all into rain ::

Subbing! We are starting to plan out January 2014 trip for baby's first birthday. Since we did for one we really should do for two. .

Normally we travel in the fall so January will be new for us and in the past I haven't paid attention to any deals that weren't for when we would normally be going. Glad for this thread so I know what to be looking for!

Subbing! My bf and I are looking to take a trip in 2014 because we're not taking one to WDW this year. It's either going to be in January or May, we'll figure this out soon (hopefully). I have the opportunity to take a trip to Germany with my school, so when I find out if that is happening or not we will really start planning. If we do end up going in January it will most likely be during the 2nd or 3rd week. We went in January two years ago and the crowds were light and we had a blast.

I'm in! planning for January 2014 - 5th January trip for us but will be the first trip ever for DIL and (then) 2-year old DGD. So excited about this trip, but frustrated that pricing is not available. A good deal could mean a bump up from moderate to deluxe!

The only way to book room only that far out is to call. Unsure when you can book online. It may be when they release package prices this fall?

What? Surely they release packages far before that? Discounts would be coming out in fall I would think..? You can make dining reservations at 180 days too...?

Dug a little deeper. Looks like the package rates come out any where between mid-June to Early Aug.
