I was also interested in having my kids participate in the YES program in January, but I'm not too familiar with it. Do I have to join some sort of group to participate or is it enough to book with Disney and let them know I homeschool?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
We are planning a Jan 2011 trip, we always go in Jan or Sept. That is my sister, her husband, my and my soon to be husband -9 days away- and this coming feb. will be our parents 25th wedding anniversery so we wanted to take them to disney, they haven't been for probably 15-20 years.
We debated on what rooms to get, we thought we decided on 3 bwv studios but we called and they are already booked before the 7 months. So we debated, do we go do we not go, wait a few months, lets try a few othe options and wa-la we are going to try for 3 pref. view studios at bwv or bcv. After all we should splurge a little, it is their 25th!
Does anyone have suggestions on healthier choices for resturants, our parents have been on a health kick, we always get dxddp and hit every steakhouse, atleast once.
Just made reservations this afternoon!! Jan 2-9 at WL again. Now, let's hope for a code/pin/discount. But in the meantime, on with dinner reservations!
We've started planning a trip for January 26-Feb 2, covering two birthdays (my 39th, and my daugther's 7th). Right now I'm too excited to think about much else!
We are trying to keep costs down so we can do this more often, and would love to stay onsite, but it would really depend on whether there is a deal or not. (Fingers crossed that there is a deal!) No deal means we will need to more seriously look at off site.
Seems kinda funny that I don't know what the rates are going to be for 2011, where we are going to be staying, or what the park hours are going to be, but I need to make my ADRs in August. Craziness!![]()
We are planning to go from 1/17/2011 - 1/23/2011 next year. We have gone the past two years in January as well: 1/19/2010 - 1/25/2010 and 1/20/2009 - 1/27/2009. We've gotten very lucky with the weather our past two trips. We just missed the big freeze this past January. We've only had one day (out of 14) where it rained at all. Temps have been mostly in the 70s with some 80s mixed in as well! Crowd levels have been very low. We used TourGuideMike to plan both trips and avoid the crowds. It's awesome to be the only ones in line for the bus at the hotel in the morning and look over at another park's line with a ton of people in it! We have been lucky enough to be chosen as the "opening family" at Magic Kingdom during both of our trips!
We have twin 5-year old boys who love Disney World! They are starting Kindergarten this Fall so I'm a little leery to take them out of school, but hopefully it won't be a big deal.
We're hoping for a free dining offer this year. That seems to save us the most money. We stayed at All-Star Sports the first year and got two adjoining rooms at POP last year. We'll probably stick with something in the Value category this time.
If anyone has any questions about WDW in January, let me know!
Anyone else getting excited about booking their ADR's?
Crossing my fingers that I can get an early ADR for breakfast at CRT! It should be a great way to start off our trip!
We've done Le Cellier, Kona, Boma (breakfast), Crystal Palace, Ohana (breakfast), Chef Mickey's (breakfast), Akershus (breakfast), and Mama Melrose and 1900 Parkfair (dinner). We've had wonderful meals at all of them. I would like to try something in the place of mama melrose, 1900 parkfair, and maybe Chef Mickey's, though. Tutto Italia and Raglan Road sound yummystudentmom What places have you eaten at?
The only table service dining we've done at WDW is Chef Mickey's and Tokyo Dining.
Here's our ADR list for our next trip:
Crystal Palace
CRT or Akershus as a back up
Jiko or California Grill (DH and I haven't decided which one yet)
