January 2011 car rental

Anyone ever use Advantage Car Rentals. I just got a minivan for Jan 6-13 for a total of $258 almost $50 less then what I had booked thru Budget. I just have never used this company and was looking for information. It says they are in the terminal but have never seen them. Any help would be great. Thanks

Orlando Advantage is off site actually with Shuttle service. We used them last year because they were the cheapest and will never use them again. ;)

I'm confused do you check in at MCO then need to be shuttled to the car pick-up spot. It is listed on MCO website that they are in the terminal.

Called advantage and was told that they are now located on airport property. Is there another reason you did not want to use them besides where they were located?

Finally my National rate dropped this morning. OK, not alot, but it went in the right direction for the first time since I booked it. I'm paying $243 for a 2 week rental (full size/Executive Aisle). Jan. 16 - 29. I used the $40 entertainment coupon (for 10 day or more rental). Thanks Lawgs.

Still waiting :confused3 on National Emerald Club coupon higher then the current $25 ? Hopefully after the 1st of the year. Right now I have National Pickup 1/25/11 10:30 am -Return 2/8/11 5:00 pm midsize emerald isle with $25.00 coupon and Id 5007160 for $312.80. I also still have Alamo for a total of $290.89 for mid size for the same time. I think the $21.91 difference is worth it to go with National. Have to wait and see ? Happy Holidays.:surfweb:

I saw a little downward movement on my EA National reservation as well for Jan 19 - 23rd. I'm now reserved for $142.18. That is using a Contract ID for AirTran and Coupon NF5817ZDR

I didn't have a good experience when I used them last time there. Pushy services, deceitful lies about car upgrades, and then didn't have the size of the SUV that I had reserved. I ended up having to downgrade to a smaller vehicle. There wasn't any size SUV that I had originally reserved on site. I went and looked in the lot as well.

Thank you for the tips - I was able to make a new reservation with National for about $130 total, including taxes and fees, for a full-size car January 5th through 13th. :thumbsup2 Now to try and find directions from MCO to the resort, and from the resort to IOA. :scared1:

Just booked a mid-size with National for 1/18 to 1/25/11 using the $35 dollar coupon ND8578ADJ and the AARP code 5027300. $132.87 with all taxes and fees. I am going to cancel my Alamo compact for $107.67. We need to drive to and from "The Villages", so a mid-size or larger will be more comfortable.

Wanted to mention that there is a $35 coupon for National. Found it on mousesavers (thanks Mary). The code is ND8459DJK

We were able to get a midsize from Alamo for Jan 14 to Jan 22 for $101.27. We used the Insider special 20% off on Florida/California rentals and the $40 off coupon from Mousesavers (AD4027JDO). I was surprised that it would go so low!

As others have noted, the price has gone way down over the last couple of weeks. Hopefully, it'll go down a bit further before we get there!

Thanks so much for this. I just tried this combination and brought my previous rate down another $28 for my rental next week!

Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread going and reminding me to keep checking my car rental. I've rebooked about 7 times now and my current rate is half of what my first rate was that I booked a couple of months ago.

Right now I have a mid-size booked January 17 - 22 through Alamo using the Costco Corp. ID number and the $40 coupon mentioned above for right at $80. Just when I think it won't go any lower, it does! :thumbsup2

I'm going alone so I am going with an economy car. This code switch up got my rental down from $132 to $59. No kidding, more than half less. It rang up at $23 before taxes and fees.

I think I owe you a Maragarita in Mexico at Epcot. I will be down Jan 12-17. Anyone else interested in spending our savings on a drink or in my case many?

The podcasts' always say to recheck your rental rates as you get closer to the trip. I am a true believer now!

Awesome just booked a Midsize from Jan 3rd-14th for $163.99. Considering we were in a Economy for for 162.56, I'll take it!!!! Alamo with the Insiders 20% off and the MS coupon!

I've been constantly checking for what seems like months too! I don't think I actually booked one until the $50 coupon came out at the beginning of this month, but, in that time I've rebooked 4 or 5 times! I think when I first started looking maybe three months ago, the same car was around $300.

Since I'm new, I couldn't respond to your pm, but, I'm glad to see you were able to get the Insider deal!

I'm so happy you were all able to save so much money!!
