January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

I agree i cant remember temps like that in january in florida... i think i need to add more summerish clothes to my packing list!!!

The day we were leaving last year it was that warm! I remember walking to the DME stop at POP dressed up in my "Northern" clothes and somebody stopped and asked me if I was headed somewhere cold! I said "Yes, I am going home to -40 temps" He said "oh I am SO SORRY"

I have all my DD's clothes washed and ready made into outfits, just have to wait until a bit closer to see if these weather predictions will hold true! We will be bringing a warm sweater and a light jacket and a pair of jeans each JUST IN CASE!!! Also some magic mini mitts and a small hat(toque) each for the girls. Gotta be prepared!

2 weeks from now my family and I will already have landed in sunny Orlando and will be headed toward the main terminal to catch our DME bus to POFQ!!!

I was shopping for long underwear this weekend based on the weather. I had no luck, so I took it as a sign I don't need it. I do have long sleeved thermalesque shirts to wear under t shirts for the layered look and I have plenty of hoodie/ jackets. I also have those pants that can be long or capri (roll them up and button). BUT I have not gone through our summer clothes... I am starting to feel panicked.
I did wash our light weight jackets - we do leave our parkas at home!
In 2007 Jan we had warm weather, but it was still not capri weather, maybe for you northerners, but not for chilly ole me

Oh thanks, good to know! I booked through a TA but she put our requests on our res. The only thing I didn't ask for is a bed rail for my son - should I call for that?

It might be a good idea. This is our first trip that our Son won't use rails; hope he has a hard head just in case he takes a fall! (kidding of course, he should do fine)

Three days for me! I can't believe it! Part of me doesn't want it to come yet because I love the anticipation, if that makes sense, and that means it will be over next week. I know, I'm getting ahead of myself. Live in the moment, right? I started packing last night. All the laundry is done, I just have to finish packing tonight. I should be able to get 95% packed so there's not as much stress Thurs. morning. I have to work that day and then leave. Oh and drop the dogs off at the petsitter's before work. So that morning will be hectic as it is! Yes, like some of you, I'll be tired when I get there at 11pm but I'm sure I'll be amped when I walk into AKL!!
I did the online check-in so hopefully it should be smooth since it's late at night. I do have a few questions but I can always ask later if I can't talk to someone that night. I can't believe this week is finally here!! And I'm SO glad the weather is going back to normal! There's scattered showers in the forecast for Sat and Sun so hopefully that doesn't ruin anything. Fingers crossed!

2 weeks from now I should be taking my ride on the ME starting to feel much like the planet Hoth up here. Those warm temps on accuweather are looking SWEET!

I just found this site recently and this thread today - we are driving down around the 29th - starting at the Wilderness Lodge on the 31st for 5 nights!!! Can't wait!! Have a few surprises for my boys, so exciting!!! Can't wait to go "Home" again

I just got off the phone with WDW Ressie Center! I wanted to add which area of AKL I wanted (of course with no guarantee). The girl on the phone did not know really what I was talking about, and had to ask me twice.

I also made a request for the Disney Destination email - photopass offer, she knew exactly what I was talking about, but was sooooooo cryptic ! She asked me what information specifically was I looking for. I rambled off some of the contect of the email and then added in about the photopass. As soon as I said photopass, she knew . She said she would send me the email she belives I am looking for, it can take 2-3 days. The information contained in the email she cannot open as it contained information specific to me (i.e. pin code???).

Anyhow I'll let you all know how that pans out.

Temperatures look very promising! i am still packing to expect some cool days. I figure if it gets too hot I can buy some shorts!! It's a win win situation....pack for cold get hot weather, and get to shop!!

1 week from today my Dbf and I will be getting ready to dine at Tony's Town Square and then finish the night with the Spectromagic parade and Wishes Nighttime Spectacular!! ahh can't wait!! hope the rain and the cold stay away

(this coming from a Canadian girl ) BTW just in case anybody's woundering Flordia does not have de-iceing machines for the planes so yes you have to sit on the plane (for 2 hours) and wait until the sun comes up and melts the frost off the wings

Other than that it was a great weekend and Saturday morning was so slow that we walked onto most of the rides with no wait...Saturday night & Sunday were not as slow. Usally a 20 min wait so that's not to bad.

I hope the weather warms up for all you traveling soon!!

I can't believe it's mid Jan already and I leave in 10 days!!!!!

Drakes- I was wondering what the photopass stuff was all about. I never got any emails but I'm wondering if it's the same as the $99 preorder price or a discount on any orders.

Mel- I had no idea about the de-icing machines. 2 hoursis a LOOOONG time to wait on the plane. At least let people wait in the airport- less claustrophobic! Glad to hear the wait times weren't that bad but then again no one probably wanted to go anywhere when it was that cold!

Well I leave in two days and I've gotten some of those Disney Destination emails over the past two months and even more in the past few days and none of them had the photopass offer. I did book through Disney too. Ah well. I've never used it before so not a huge loss I guess. I did get a photopass card in the my voucher packet and I did go online to register it to my name. I can also get a free 4x6 with my Disney Visa so we'll see.
So I've been attempting to pack over the past three days but something keeps getting in the way. I was going to finish last night and company came over (doesn't happen often LOL) so we went out to dinner. Tonight, I AM packing damn it! LOL! Okay got to start working now. It's been hard enough staying off these boards during the day!!
