I must have pixie dust ! I got the free dining PIN for stays this fall! BUT it's for a family of 4! Arrrrggghhhh!!!!!
I think I may call and see. If i can get it to work it would mean being able to go for DD's birthday in October!

With the pin we used for this trip (kids stay,play and dine free), it was priced out for a family of 4. Well, we're only a family of 3, so I called to get a rate just for us. At the bottom of the postcards/emails, it usually says to call for other hotels, offers, etc. I would give it a try if I were you!

I got this PIN as well! It is sooo very tempting.....I have always wanted to see Disney at Christmas! Decisions, decisions.....oh yeah and yesterday we had a family BBQ at mey sisters' house. My mom just returned from the Grandma's Marathon in Duluth and my DH says to me "Hey Hon, when is that Disney one again?" aarrgghhhh! So many choices!

'we' will be: me, DH, DD(3) along with our friends and their two kids for 12/31-1/6...we will be staying in the Treehouse Villas.

Then DH, DD and I will be moving over to Bay Lake Tower for 1/6-1/9.

I can't wait!!! We usually travel at the end of January so I am really looking forward to seeing the World all dressed up for the holidays!

On Friday we received a follow up phone call from DVC. the rep we met with in January 2009 called us! Ironically 2 weeks ago we were just chatting about him surprised he hadn't called.
Of course they offered an even more reduced rate!
It got me thinking again of the pros and cons to DVC, especially at a reduced rate. In any event we're scheduling a follow up phone call. I can;t see it happening as we just upgraded our summer home i.e. park model trailer! Maybe it would be smarter to hitch that up and camp a Fort Wilderness.

It did get me looking into DVC rental points - which would definitely allow us to stay at AKL.

Does anyone know what a AKL value room is? I read it is a standard room at AKL converted for DVC use?

"LA LA LA LA LA" as I stick my fingers in my ears! I'm trying not to read about becoming a DVC member. If only I could get DH on board...reduced rate you say huh?

No, unfortunately you can not use any codes/pins when you rent DVC points.

I got that PIN too. We are seriously considering moving our trip up to November. Sorry Snowbirds! Free dining is just such a huge savings for us.

And then I got another PIN yesterday for 35% off any moderates, but the dates are only good through Oct 3rd. I can't believe I am getting so many PINS. That is the 4th one this year I think. I never used to get any.

You should definitely call. The PINS are usually good for any party size and most resorts!

Well we made reservations for PCR but we might change when it gets a little closer and we see what deals are going on. We already have our flights booked as well. Just waiting until August when they said they will be releasing the deals for January now. I am so excited.

I'm so glad you found your way over to the Snowbirds! How awesome that you're a DVC member. My DH and I are very interested, but my DH doesn't want to buy into it until we have CASH to cover the cost. He doesn't want to finance it.

We got a GREAT deal on AirTran - flying down and back straight through for $168 per person. We could've saved more by going out of Baltimore/Washington International, but Harrisburg International is only 30 minutes (and ALOT LESS traffic) away from our house. I already booked for the 8 of us. Have you checked on Orbitz or Price Line for a price reduction?

We have flown with AirTran and loved them. Just be careful with them, they are known for changing their flight times and not even telling you! Changing them by several hours or even adding a stop to non-stop flights. The last time we were booked with them they changed the flight down by several hours(and didn't tell us - I only knew because I was checking everyday) and it didn't work for us, so they gave us a full refund and we had to book with SW.

So just keep an eye on your flight times!

Sorry. Didn't mean to worry you. Just wanted you to be aware.

The good thing is that if they change the flight time at all they will refund you if you are not happy with the change.

If it helps at all, we did like flying with them. The flight attendants were nicer than the ones at SW. And they were easier on our luggage.

Just keep your eye on them.

Hi guys. Just got back from the Doctors and wanted to say hello. I got some really good news. After my first two cycles of chemo they did a scan yesterday to see if we were making any progress, the scans came back showing a decent reduction in the size of the cancer in all locations. It was such a relief to have tears of joy for once (been plenty of the other kind over the last few months). We're not out of the woods yet but at least we found the path!!!

The best part is he said I would be okay to travel to WDW for our 10th Anniversary trip at the end of July! (I planned it between treatments for a reason).

I will be heading down to WDW with my husband and son in January. Our vacation is January 22-30. We love going during this time of year, because the attendance is low and the weather is perfect. Not too hot not too cold. We are from Maryland and we drive to WDW. We leave MD around 7:00pm and drive "straight on through until morning". I'm lucky that my husband loves to drive, because I only have to drive through 1 state and that is Georgia. He drives the rest of the way himself. It's nice driving through the night, because there aren't many cars on the road at all. My son will sleep for most of the way.

As I was reading through the boards I noticed that someone said there is a gymnastics event going on. I hope it doesn't effect our resort. We are staying at Coronada Springs. I was in Disney once when there was a huge Cheerleading competition going on and it was horrible. The kids basically took over our resort.

Anyway, glad to be a part of the Disboards and I am anxiously awaiting January 2010!!!!
