January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

I bit the bullet and booked ASMo room only If a better deal comes out and we can upgrade then I'll rethink things. I just keep telling myself not to think about it for the next 7 months and 3 days and instead I'm going to start getting my packing list made and even more fun...making the shopping list!

YAY!!! So exciting! I can't wait until I can book our trip! We made a deal that we would wait until the pkg rates come out in August before we make any ressies! Still watching flight prices like a hawk! We are really hoping for a great deal!

I found us! Okay! I'm officially offical!

I can't wait to book the Disney Trip for my Birthday in January 14, 2010! CBR will be the right choice for my Birthday!

YAY on the ressie! That gymnastics competition frightens me. I was going to book AS Mu, so I had something. I priced out value to mod and the price difference in rooms would mean definitely only one trip in 2010! the money we save with the value let's us contemplate 2 trips!

On Friday we received a follow up phone call from DVC. the rep we met with in January 2009 called us! Ironically 2 weeks ago we were just chatting about him surprised he hadn't called.
Of course they offered an even more reduced rate!
It got me thinking again of the pros and cons to DVC, especially at a reduced rate. In any event we're scheduling a follow up phone call. I can;t see it happening as we just upgraded our summer home i.e. park model trailer! Maybe it would be smarter to hitch that up and camp a Fort Wilderness.

It did get me looking into DVC rental points - which would definitely allow us to stay at AKL.

Does anyone know what a AKL value room is? I read it is a standard room at AKL converted for DVC use?

Hi Ya'll. We will be going to WDW January 5-12. We are celebrating My Daughter's 2nd b-day, My son's 5th b-day and my B-day as well. DH and I along with our 3 kids and my Parents are all going to be going. We are very excited! It has been 5 years since DH and I were there by ourselves and we are looking forward to sharing this special place with the rest of the clan.

I'm changing resorts! Final time- I promise!
DH absolutely does not want to stay at ASMo so it's looking like CBR for us. He's fearful of all those dance teams and tour groups at the values. We're still going to take the kids over to ASMo to see the life size Buzz and Woody though.

Guess it's time to change the ticker...figures...Woody was just starting to move!

I had a feeling too You can't keep us away. I was just trying to save us a couple bucks by staying Value. It is kind of neat that CBR is the place we've stayed at since our honeymoon in 2001. It's kind of full circle bringing our kids back every time. Although we've got about 7 months to change our minds again and again so we'll see
I'm not changing my ticker until the deals come out in October/November and
we decide for sure.

Congrats on POR Shelly! It's my second choice after CBR in the MOD category! We've had a couple family members stay there and loved it! It's lush and green just like CBR.

ARGH!!!!!! What gymnastics competition??? I might have to take this into serious consideration if it's during our stay....my dad and my father-in-law are kind of strange about crowds...especially large groups of young giggly little girls!!

Gymnastics is scheduled for Jan. 22-24th. We've decided to stay CBR partly for that reason. Geez I'm getting old. I used to be a part of those groups of annoying giggly girls and now I'm willing to pay for another resort just to avoid them. Gotta go yell at the teens in my neighborhood to get off my lawn and turn down that dang music.

We're there from the 21st to the 30th, so I don't know if we'll plan on staying at ASMo anyway or not. Ugh, great. I wouldn't mind....and I'm sure that DS(who will be 10 by then) wouldn't mind either - he's just started to 'notice' girls! But ugh, I'm getting horrible mental pictures of the All Star food courts with all of them moving in packs! hmmmm....I have some decisions to make now.

My DH said he couldn't put up with the crowds in the food court and the loud teenagers running around. He's not a huge Disney fan to begin with so I don't want him to be miserable at the hotel and pull the old "I told you so" routine. If he wants to pick where we sleep so be it. I'm planning the rest of the week!
