I was just over the UG site and for anybody going to WDW between the dates of January 20th and 30th - there are now 4's on the crowd calendar! Looks like the crowd calendar is being updated and the crowds are expected to be a bit lower!!!!!

I just checked what I had from last week and two days went down to 4s the week I'll be there. But Sat 1/23, went up from a 6 to an 8. Oh nooooooooooooo!

This will be our fourth January in a row and we have yet to see an "8" day anywhere during our trips. Last year (about the same dates you are going this January) we never had more than a 15 minute wait for anything with just a little strategic FastPass planning. Fingers crossed that it's a "4" day for you.

P.S. Stay faaaaar away from HS on Fantasmic days if possible, you may see an "8" that day!!

Thank you! There were only two days that DHS was listed as a "best park" and we scheduled The Studios for those days. I'll double check when Fastasmic is running now that you've mentioned that aspect.

LOL! I asked them (a 2nd time) if there was anything they could ask me in terms of a security question to get back my original username, but no one has responded. Oh well. I mean c'mon, people move and de-activate their old email accounts a lot, right? People (like me) also brain fart and forget their passwords, right?

I hope that we can request the wing that faces the castle. I also hope we can switch from 2 queens to a queen + bunk beds. Fingers are crossed that we'll be able to get what we want!

So what is Jan usually on UG for the last week or two of the month? A 4 seems really low.

We're going to do EMH on the 23rd until lunchtime, so even as a Fantasmic day, we'll be gone by the time the crowds may really push.

We usually go in summer or spring break or last year was October (F & W). I still bet I don't feel like it's crowded compared to those times. And how does UG predict anyway? I assume it's from hotel availability. Then, the Saturday would probably just account for locals. The weekends will always be higher anyway.

I can't let some prediction model affect the way I spend my vacation.

this is our arrival day, Spectro is on at MK - which was our plan, we went the week prior and the weekend and the time after MLK showed some long lines... 40 plus minutes for TT, posted time wasd 20 minutes, about 45 minutes later we ran off looking for the other members of our family, they were waiting listening to the Jaminators- I never heard the end of it from DD about how long she was waiting! So I was hoping the last week of Jan would have less crowds. I'll need to check when I get home!

Exactly! A busy day at Disney in January is nothing compared to peak times of the year. Heck, even if it is a touch crowded, just remember your still at Disney!

ok, so we are going jan 21-25, if it were you, would you purchase the hoppers to avoid the parks with fantasmic and spectro and then just go into those parks on those evenings? I just don't know what to do, I really wanted to see these two shows since we didn't see them last time we went. But then I didn't want to fork over the extra money for hoppers either.....hmmmm. We arrive at MCO on the 21st at 10:10 am and depart MCO at 3:30 on the 25th. So which park would you do on arrival day?

We are use to going in the middle of the summer so how does it really compare?
