January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

Hi everyone! I'm still here. Sorry I've been struggling to keep up with the lists. I have a home daycare and am now up to 4 little ones full time (plus my own 2) so my plate has been SUPER full lately! I still love you all you just take the backseat until it's naptime!

I'm working on updating the lists since they were last posted on page 79. I would love it if anyone would like to take over the ADR list though (Drakes? :rolleyes1). I know everyone wants to plan meets and the list would be most helpful! :thumbsup2

Mel- I'm sorry to hear about your shin splints. They are painful! I hope you at least get to walk or wog in the marathon.

As far as a DIS ID, I always make a LGMH and hang it on my backpack. I'll post a pic of it closer to the trip. At some point I'll have time to make one :lmao:

If Drakes doesn't have time I can do it :flower3: I'm on the here a little to often ;)

Has anyone thought any more about having set days and times and place for our DIS meet?

I previously mentioned that we could do it somewhere that anyone could go to even ppl without park hopper passes.

like DTD, or the boardwalk.

I know that many of us would like to meet.

this is the best place to coordinate that.

TTYL!!!

So I went ahead and made the ADR list :flower3: If I missed anyone/thing please let me know...

BTW...Drakes if you want to do the list you are more then welcome...I was just had some extra time this afternoon :)

Mel and Monny - you ladies are fabulous... I don't know if I will have time, I still have PMs to reply to :scared1:, so for those of you that PM'd me, I am trying. :)

I don't think I can commit to managing the lists... I just know some of us here may want to plan dismeets, esp if we're eating at the same places around the same time. I thought if we could go by week - then have 4 people - i in charge of each of their week it would be fair.

But then Mel drafted all the ADRs- super de duper!!!:worship:

I figured you were busy because you didn't reply...I'm not planning a big trip and I'm almost done with all my Christmas shopping :yay: so I don't mind doing the list :flower3:

for those who will down the first week of january, we could plan a meet on jan 5th, i notice that quite a few of you will be eating in epcot on that day,so maybe we can meet at the boardwalk for those who don;t have PH as dislover mentioned. Is anybody up for a meet? if we all decided to come,it would be quite a big one there will be approx 38 snowbirds there on the 5th

I think that is a great Idea. I have lunch resies at 2:45 for Biergarten, so I can go any time before or after 4:30 that day!!!

I know, I know :rolleyes1 I worked retail for 7 years and I can't step foot into a mall after mid November so I get it done now and just enjoy the holiday season. I do a lot of baking so while everybody else is shopping in the packed malls I am eating cookies

Anyone going to be at 'Ohana on January 26 for dinner? I will be there with my daughters, and since I figure they will be off having fun it would be nice to have some other adults to talk to! :upsidedow

Thanks,
Cheryl

Hi everybody,
it has been a long time since I posted on this thread - way back at the beginning, I think. But now that ADR's have been made, and the trip is less than 90 days away, I'm offically EXCITED!!!!:banana::banana:

So, in keeping with everyone else, here is what I have planned so far for ADR's:

Jan. 24 - arrive at BWV approx. 6 pm - dinner at ESPN (no ressie needed, which is good in case of a flight delay)

Jan. 25 - Lunch at Rose & Crown @ 1:20 pm; Dinner at Teppan Edo @ 7:30 pm

Jan. 26 - Breakfast at Liberty Tree @ 8:05; Dinner at Raglan Road @ 8:00 pm

Jan. 27 - Lunch at Sci-Fi @ 1.35 pm; Dinner at 50's Primetime at 7:10 pm

Jan. 28 - this is a "do whatever you want day" - I'm going to the GF for afternoon tea, not sure if anyone is joining me, so I need to sort this out still. Dinner at Planet Hollywood @ 8:00 pm

Jan. 29 - Lunch at Yak & Yeti @ 1:30 pm; Dinner at Le Cellier @ 8:00 pm

Jan. 30 - Breakfast at Kona @ 10:20 am; Lunch at Chefs de France at 2:30 pm (I'm assuming we'll be eating really light here, as there's not much time between breakfast and lunch!); dinner likely at Beaches & Cream whenever we get hungry, probably about 8:30 pm'ish

Jan. 31 - Dinner at Tony's @ 5:55 pm

Still completely undecided about whether to do regular DDP and pay OOP for extras, or go deluxe. I've priced the regular plan, with the extra costs assuming we all pig out and eat 3 courses at each meal listed above. (I didn't list the counter service meals, but there will be a total of 8 of those) Cost works out the same as purchasing deluxe. So, part of me says, go deluxe and have the option to eat 3 TS meals per day! But then part of me says, there's no way we could eat 3 courses at every meal! But then again....I have two 20-something year old sones who eat everything but the legs off the kitchen table right now... Oh, my head hurts from trying to figure this out! I know I don't have ADR's for 3 TS meals every day, but we've always gone to WDW in January and there is always lots of walk-in availability (not the likes of Le Cellier or CRT, but lots of others). Anyone care to offer some advice?!

I am a sort of newbie here on the DIS, but I have researched this in great detail. If I could afford it I would get the DxDP,My husband and I will be doing the DDP for the first time, and we are very excited about that.

but that said, I know that at least 3 out of 5 times we will get an app, and desert.
and being that we don't always agree on the same dish, we will each get one.
so you can see that we will be spending money out of pocket.

as for deserts, some one here said to get it to go, eat it in your room, or at the fireworks /shows later. I personally agree with that and do plan on doing just that!!

if you have two boys that are eating you out of house and home, then I say go for it, you know that you will use them, and you are right about the walk ins, we went last year not knowing a thing about ADR's and that people make them 90 days ahead. This is the first time we have done that.(husband not happy about that one bit, wants to be free like a bird there)and we were able to be seated at every place we went, minus a 10 to 15 min wait once. so I wouldn't worry about that.

Good luck!!
