Hello all!! My oldest had to go to the Dr yesterday--he's having a hard time kicking the sinus stuff. But, they checked for flu and he doesn't have it -thank the Good Lord---but he gave me a RX for if he starts fever over the weekend. We are on mucinex and tylenol. Now I have been up since 3:30--stopped up & sneezing, and watery eyes!!! YIKES!! I feel yucky. But, at least I got caught up here this morning!!! I am 7 days out and need to get my stuff ready to ship. Was gonna do that today, but it's gonna be hard---hopefully I can go back to sleep when I get off of here!!!

Did anybody elses little side thing of smilies get rearranged? Mine are all moved around. Not sure how that happened.

Well, hopefully we will all be well by the time our trips roll around!Keep those trip reports comin in!!!!

Hi everyone ! Well it looks like we may make our special 38th wedding Anniversary WDW trip after all, which was planned 6 months ago... We have reservations at the POR January 22nd-29th ! We had a fire in our home last week , had to relocate and rent a house before ours can get repaired. Our kitty is in the vet hospital with a urinary blockage and they think it was due to stress from all of the scary stuff related to the fire that happened to him ! He is doing fine ! We decided to go head and get away from it all for a week of R and R. WDW is a great place to do that !! When we get home we both will be rested, have cleared our heads and will begin the rebuilding of our home. Thanks for all of your info over the past few months which has helped us plan our trip !!!

Hi Everyone! Thank you for the warm thoughts of concern on what I have been up to. It is now crunch time for me and DH has a karate thingie he wants to go to on Saturday then that night out with friends to see a UFC show on tv. I asked him when he would find time to do all the things on his list and he said he would. Right now he is still on item 2 on a long list. I just have to have faith he will come through. Sadly, I don't have much faith. He was to put on a "pod" or as a co-worker says a "coffin looking thing" for our luggage on top of our vehicle. He procrastinates until now with frigid temperatures (we have had this for 5 months in our basement ) so I think he may have learned his lesson, or maybe not. It just puts more pressure on me. Oh well, I have off this Wednesday, the day we leave to try to finish and do it all.

Welcome back and thank you for the updates and tips you have brought back. I love looking at the pictures and any trip reports that you have done. I cannot wait to read more about your adventures.


To all Snowbirds yet to leave:

Thank you for sticking around and still coming up with fantastic ideas. Tomorrow is the day I make my LGMH and attach them to my backpack, camera bag and stroller (large tag for that one) and a large door decoration with my DIS name on it. Great idea to include avatar pic too. I also have to clean my pennies for the penny pressing machines we plan to hit. So much to do but thanks to all the posts, I can find great ideas and live with my decisions.
I wish all Snowbirds about to leave a wonderful and magical time. I will keep my eyes out for LGMH as we still have that contest going on don't we on who meets the most Snowbirds? I know it will be hard to know who I am since I didn't post a pic but I think I will copy the idea of the luggage tag on one side and LGMH on the other. We will have to keep our eyes peeled in lines (If there is any ). Hopefully we all experience warm weather and low crowd levels.

I believe we are a lovely group of people and we love to chat about our Disney vacations. I welcome all of you to our group and feel free to jump in and share your thoughts and comments. I think it is great that people are still finding our group half way into the month and want to join. I think that with 4 threads on the same subject under our belts and still going strong it speaks volumes on the caliber of people on this thread. Again welcome .

Welcome back, WE'VE MISSED YOU! I know exactly how you feel about your hubby! I know exactly how much needs to be done in the next 6 days (not only Disney stuff, but we have to pay sales tax on my car, get DH's car inspected and licensed and his drivers license expires while we're on vaca, and we STILL haven't taken down the outside Christmas decor). Do you think he has any plans for any of this??? UGH!!!

I'm am so excited I have a three day weekend!! I have so much to do this weekend-grocery shop, pack, make tshirts, clean, make dinner for my mom's bday (lasagna-yum)...I'm exhausted just thinking about it but at least I DON'T HAVE TO WORK FOR THREE DAY!!

Only 1 more week until we start the road trip!! Anyone have any new ideas to keep a 6 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old entertained for 20 hours! (I"m thinking Benedryl? ) But seriously, we have the DVD player and plenty of movies (I thought about borrowing a few new ones that they haven't seen yet), and I have some Color Wonder markers and books...anyone have anything else that's worked for them? I'm really stressing about the driving part. On the way down, they will hopefully sleep some of the way since we're driving thru the night, but until they fall asleep...

That's generally what we bring too - movies and coloring. My girls like workbooks, and we have a little Barbie laptop that they can play games on. DD7 has a Nintendo DS too. Otherwise, just snacks and music. I like the Benadryl idea!! Just don't give them Sudafed - they'll be wired!! LOL

I have to share something that happened last night...

I was looking for my brand-spanking new The Complete Walt Disney World 2009 and couldn't find it anywhere. I went so far as to wake up DD9 because she pretty much declared ownership of my 2008 edition, but of course, as she was in a VERY deep sleep, she wasn't much help. I kept looking, said some choice words, and proceeded to give up.

So I was taking out my contacts in our bathroom before I went to bed and lo and behold, there sits my book. But wait! Who used that bathroom before he went to bed??? Who is finally starting to get excited about the trip????

DH! But I bet he still won't admit it.

I've been working on my income taxes all day! Oh - and I am frozen. Our high was 0 today!!

Funny, DH and I just talked about doing the taxes and filling out the FAFSA form (for college Financial Aid) as soon as we get back from FL as we just got an email reminder from the Federal Government about getting it submitted. Although DD doesn't get much in the way of Financial Aid, she has gotten Federal Work Study each year which has been very helpful. We usually have everything ready to file by Feb. 1st, so hopefully he can get it all organized and filed.

Today we are going off to do some final trip shopping (I am still looking for a new fleece jacket to bring), and then tomorrow and Monday finishing up with the packing. DD comes back home from NY tomorrow (she went back to school for a week to work), I have school Tuesday and Wednesday, will bring DK(Dear Kitty) to Grampa's house on Wednesday after school, and then off to the airport REAL early on Thursday morning for our 6:45 AM flight!

Can't wait to get out of this cold weather!

Congratulations! I wish my DH was. He still is telling my DD's that he's not going on ANY rides in the 8 days. oh, but wait, I almost forgot, he was talking about the trip last night. He wanted me to go get some cash at the bank. Maybe he will enjoy this!

Jimmy & Allie, congrats on 38 years. My parents are celebrating their 50th anniversary today. I just called them in Weslaco, TX...long way from snowing WI.... I also just ordered flowers to be delivered today as a surprise.

I just knew I'd feel better if they were done before we leave! And now we should have our return shortly after we get back!!

How can you even think about taxes when you're planning for vaca??? I've got way too much on mind! Plus, we don't have any w2's back or the statements (are they 1099's?) for our mortgage interest, etc...I plan on doing mine next month. Since I work for the state I get two holidays off in February (Pres Day and Lincoln's bday) so that's usually when I do ours, when I have the house to myself and it's quiet and I can throw papers all over the place! I usually use Turbo Tax since we both have side businesses (I sell real estate and he's a personal traininer) so we get lots of deductions. (By looking at that, it sounds like we should both be rich and thin and in great shape...HAHAHAHA Dare to Dream...)
