Jen - how are you feeling? :flower3:

Okay! For some reason I'm still getting headaches. I made another appointment with my doctor for Monday I think we'll be drawing some blood. I might just take the day off and go in the morning to get the blood drawn. Thank you for asking!

Good Morning Snowbirds,

I am up and checked the official Disney World site. Thus far no room deals on Pop at $49.00/night. I did email my travel agent. I am very certain she just loves hearing from me.:lmao: I guess I will know later on if this is a true deal coming out or not.

I hope we all have a great day.:flower3:

Question for everyone that celebrates Christmas regarding Santa...

My hubby and I can't decide what to do as far as the wrapping goes.

I grew up with stuff from my parents being wrapped but anything from Santa wasn't wrapped.

My hubby grew up with everything wrapped and labeled who it was from- parents or Santa, which is how he figured things out so young- mom's handwriting was the same as Santa's, Santa used the same gift wrap and labels as mom.

We just can't decide what to do.:confused3

What does everyone else do?

In our house, Santa doesn't wrap presents. It's funny, Santa always seems to bring presents that might be difficult to wrap?! :confused3 :lmao:

I honestly can't remember how it was when i was little.

Okay, I just HAVE to share with my Dis-ers!!

Happy, happy me!!! :cool1: :cool1:  :dance3:  :cool1:

I called the airline about the flight schedule changes made and the person I spoke with was all "well, that isn't a valid connection and we'll have to change it" - which, of course, meant losing Disney time because we would arrive later.

So after waiting on hold for her to try and massage our flights so that we don't get in too much later, I ask her whether there is any possibility of changing our return times so that we can actually use the last day of our vacation (we were scheduled to leave at 7:30am as that was the latest time available for our fare when I originally booked). She says "oh, I see where your return flights were altered, so yes I can make changes to them. What would you like?" Here's me: :rolleyes1 "Ummm".... (inside, I'm hoping and praying for some pixiedust: right about then).... "is there anything later?" She then proceeds to ask whether evening would be okay.... Me: :hyper: "Um, yes" - and voila - we now have a flight leaving at.....drumroll please.... 6:30PM.

Color me happy!!! :jumping1:

So, to those of you whose flights have changed, it might be worth it to call your airline and see if you can swing something more favorable!! I just managed to snag another half-day in the park for my family!!! :woohoo:

Awesome!!

That makes sense, since he has to come down the fireplace and that's where the stockings are hung (with care!) At our house, we used to have a tree by the fireplace and one up in the living room but now we just have the tree in the LR, so having Santa leave presents by the fireplace makes good sense.

We're wondering whether Santa should set up the Wii the girls want. That TV is also by the fireplace, so wouldn't that be nice? ;)

One year Santa set up our DS's Geotrax set he received for Christmas. It took him HOURS!! to unwrap all the little ties around EACH train!! Poor Santa!! :rotfl:

It's amazing what that one man can accomplish in one short night!!! He truly is a hero in my eyes !!!

Good morning Snowbirds! :goodvibes

I'm feeling a little better today. Still not great though.

Disneymommy3 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DS!! :cool1:

Monny - We wrap all the kids presents. Normally about half would be from us and half from Santa. This year they will all (considerably less than normal) be from Santa and the one "surprise box" will be from us!! :yay:

I'm off to the school here in a bit. Today's the last day of Santa's Workshop and then we will have to tear down afterwards.

I think you ought to ask Santa to set up the Wii. It'll make morning that much better! ;)

Growing up Santa did not wrap my gifts!:guilty: He had seven in my house, how could he? I love you Mom!:lovestruc
Santa wraps gifts here. We have always bought special paper for each child. I buy different tags too. I use to have my sister write the tags for me also. DH does it now in his best hand writing. He writes like a doctor.:rotfl: I have to tell you all, neither of my kids (12 and 15) have never said the words he is not real, or anything to that affect. We still try to keep the magic alive. When DS was about 2 I started this elf thing. You know how most parents tell there kids Santa is watching well I told him one day his special elf was watching him. He asked what his name is; the closes thing to me was his huge Barney stuff toy. So I said Barney the Elf. Barney the elf started leaving present for them, telling them about being good. My sister become the elf and always took it two steps to far. Extreme buying I should say, like a play station sitting on our steps one year.:sad2: Of course a couple years later the movie Santa clause with Tim Allen came out, and yes Barney the elf was in it. OMG I said there he is!!!
He still is watching them. I told DD the other day Santa is on a budget this year, the economy is hurting him also you know.
She said she heard that also.

Last time I was home for Christmas, Santa was still dropping off presents for us. I was 29.

However, Santa did NOT leave presents for my parents, but they did stuff one another's stockings anyway. (In my later teens, I insisted that if my bro and I got stockings, my parents should, too... so I bought some and put things in them for them... but Santa, he still visits! :rotfl: )

No, my parents and I never had a discussion about whether or not Santa really exists. But he doesn't seem to know that I live in Michigan, now!

Congrats! I also got an email the other day that our flights had changed but it was only by a couple of minutes for each flight so no big deal. By chance are you flying out of Hancock? We will be flying out of there on Sat the 10th.

One year Santa snuck into my room and put a Rainbow Brite doll in my bed. That is the best Christmas I remember.:goodvibes

We are not doing Santa this year. Belle has absolutely NO INTEREST in him at all. If it's not Mickey Mouse, she turns her nose up.:snooty: I was really hoping to do Santa this year, but we are just going to buy lots of Disney World goodies instead.

However, she is very into Baby Jesus. She calls him Baby Jee-zee (which sounds like a rapper to me) and everytime she see's a nativity scene she's runs to it in awe and gives the baby a kiss. Now that beats Santa excitement anyday in my book!

We were flying out of Hancock until JetBlue just up and cancelled our direct flights (that we booked in May) to MCO (about a month and a half ago). Now we are driving an additional 1:15 to fly out of Rochester (but we got our direct flights back!). We were definitely bummed, but we now have a hotel room the night before about 3 miles from the airport. We can also leave our vehicle at the hotel while we're gone for no charge.:thumbsup2

Good question - we actually have two Christmas trees, so the one in the living room is the "Santa" tree. All Santa gifts are left there, unwrapped, under the tree and around the room. Family gifts are wrapped and left in the family room under that tree (which is the Disney ornament and kid stuff tree).

I grew up with Santa stuff unwrapped. I like it that way - it's really exciting to see it all at once.

:dumbo:
Just wait til you hit 40 - OUCH!
My closest girlfriends and I all hit 40 this year and we wanted to do something special, but we can't afford a big trip or anything, so in a week we're having a "girls weekend" at one of our cabins. Just a little getaway! This was much harder on me than 30, but I also didn't have my kids until after I was 30.

Just wait until you hit 50!! :scared1: (Happened to me a while ago, so don't worry about my birthday in 10 days!)

My ticker is in weeks now!!!!!

MINE TOO!!

:cool1: :dance3: :rainbow: :rockband: party: :simba: :ccat: :goofy: :tigger: :figment: :sulley: :maleficen :mickeyjum:jumping1::cheer2:

Just wait until you find yourself looking at the tail lights of the car as your :cutie: drives away from Thanksgiving, going to her "home" that has nothing to do with you! :guilty: You know that this is the way it's supposed to be, but still, there's that tug . . .

YIKES!! I am not ready for that yet!! Thank goodness it's his 13th & not 21st or something!!!!
Santa didn't wrap our presents. That's how we knew it was from him.:santa:

Ditto! My family did it that way and so do we:santa:

Love the Rainbow Brite Christmas!! How fun!!! I always looooooved waiting for Santa-such innocent expectation. I know it's always been a big discussion-especially among Christians for/against Santa-but, I tell them the story of ST. Nicholas and that his life was lived for Christ. Then we proceed to do the Santa thing!! I think there are such few things that are wholesome and innocent for kids now that Santa at Christmas-time is 100% great!!! Okay, now I will get off the soap-box and allow someone else a turn!!

Well, good morning friends!!! My little baby boy is 13 today:sad2: wow!! Totally weird~! I went ahead and let him open his Ripstick yesterday. His little friend brought his, so I knew he'd want it then--besides, it's suppose to rain & be yucky today!!!! Thank you everyone who sent bday wishes already!!! I am going to spend the day thinking about what a blessing he's been to me from day1 and not think about him getting older--I usually focus on that & get weepy!! I know the Lord doesn't want me to do that, so I am REALLY trying today!!!! I do feel the tears coming on though!!! Man, this is hard!!!

Well, Shelly, Jen, Remmy, and anyone else under the weather today, I am hoping (& praying for you!!) that you feel better super-quick!!! Hope you all have a great day!!!

Question for everyone that celebrates Christmas regarding Santa...

My hubby and I can't decide what to do as far as the wrapping goes.

Santa wraps our gifts from him in a different paper, and prints tags in block letters. :santa: Also, gifts from mom & dad are under the tree earlier, as I get them wrapped (as long as the shape isn't too obvious), but Santa doesn't bring gifts until Christmas Eve. I think the boys are at the stage of "As long as I still believe in Santa, he'll still bring me presents." Actually, I'm still at that stage too! He still brings gifts for me and DH. :thumbsup2

However, she is very into Baby Jesus. She calls him Baby Jee-zee (which sounds like a rapper to me) and everytime she see's a nativity scene she's runs to it in awe and gives the baby a kiss. Now that beats Santa excitement anyday in my book!

Aw, that's so sweet! :cutie:

:scared1: We are flying jet blue direct right now, I hope our flight doesnt get cancelled! It is so frustrating when airlines change everything around but at least you were able to change things and make them work for you. Now I just have to keep hoping that the weather cooperates, No Winter Storms Please!! :goodvibes

Hi Snowbirds,

I've been off the 'birds thread for awhile. We have been playing pass the virus in our house. DD started to feel really bad just as we sat down for Thanksgiving Dinner and I spent Black Friday (DH had to work) trying to find a doctor to see her. My Dr. was closed, her Ped. was closed. I tried 4 of those walk-in places but they were backed up for hours. I finally got her in one place and made a comment that after dragging DS around to all these places we'd soon be back. Well we made it to Monday morning before he got it! I've got the Med. chart on the fridge and I'm always checking to see who's next. My thought was that if they are sick now.....They won't be sick next month? Right? fingers crossed please! I actually was glad DD got sick over the Holiday rather during a school week and miss school! I kept saying you can't afford to miss school...you have to be better by Monday! She just rolled her eyes....If she only knew!;)

At our house santa wraps in solid red paper with printed tags. He also leaves a tell tale trail of pixie dust...ah, I mean magic Santa dust behind. Santa leaves a few crumbs on the cookie plate and a little sprinkle of magic dust (micro fine glitter). His milk glass gets switched out for a clean glass and I make a chapstick lip print and dust that too! Then we leave a little dusting of glitter on all the santa presents. Because they are all wrapped in red and under the tree the glitter really stands out. Yes, it leaves a little mess but it is so worth it!:santa:

Hugs to all the Snowbirds that need them right now! :grouphug: I wish you all the best right now! Ya'll are such a wonderful bunch!

Okay! cute kid moment alert....Last night DS was lying in my bed watching Peter Pan. And I hear him talking in a froggy little sick voice...The secne he was watching was when Captian Hook was getting shaved by Smee and Tick Tock starts to swim close. My DS 2 was saying "Tip Top...Tip Top...Tip Top...Tip Top" I asked him if Tick Tock was getting close to Captain Hook and he said "No, Tip Top is"!:rotfl: We will have to keep an eye out for Tip Top when we ride Peter Pan!

Only 35 more days until I'm in my Happy Place!
