Well, good morning friends!!! My little baby boy is 13 today:sad2: wow!! Totally weird~! I went ahead and let him open his Ripstick yesterday. His little friend brought his, so I knew he'd want it then--besides, it's suppose to rain & be yucky today!!!! Thank you everyone who sent bday wishes already!!! I am going to spend the day thinking about what a blessing he's been to me from day1 and not think about him getting older--I usually focus on that & get weepy!! I know the Lord doesn't want me to do that, so I am REALLY trying today!!!! I do feel the tears coming on though!!! Man, this is hard!!!

Well, Shelly, Jen, Remmy, and anyone else under the weather today, I am hoping (& praying for you!!) that you feel better super-quick!!! Hope you all have a great day!!!

Happy Birthday to your son!:goodvibes

Shelly, Jen, Remmy and to anyone else feeling icky.... Get well soon!!!!

Hi Snowbirds,
Okay! cute kid moment alert....Last night DS was lying in my bed watching Peter Pan. And I hear him talking in a froggy little sick voice...The secne he was watching was when Captian Hook was getting shaved by Smee and Tick Tock starts to swim close. My DS 2 was saying "Tip Top...Tip Top...Tip Top...Tip Top" I asked him if Tick Tock was getting close to Captain Hook and he said "No, Tip Top is"!:rotfl: We will have to keep an eye out for Tip Top when we ride Peter Pan!

Only 35 more days until I'm in my Happy Place!

So cute! It's so much fun to hear all of the funny things little ones say.:cutie:

For those of you who were looking for the general code for $49.00 a night at selective resorts during January the code is up on the Walt Disney World site under special offers. I already have this rate with my AP discount, however I keep itching to call and find out if I could upgrade at all and put it on my Disney Visa...we'll see if my will power can last out the last 41 days LOL!

Thank you!!:flower3: How is your class/test prep going?

I'm in planning this morning until 10 am and then we are building DNA models. I have given my students their end of semester study guides already and we will spend 4 days before tests reviewing over the study guides and playing review Jeopardy!

:scared1: We are flying jet blue direct right now, I hope our flight doesnt get cancelled! It is so frustrating when airlines change everything around but at least you were able to change things and make them work for you. Now I just have to keep hoping that the weather cooperates, No Winter Storms Please!! :goodvibes

Our JetBlue flight was in the morning. I see the evening direct flight is still there; we'll keep our fingers crossed for you. And as far as the weather…. last January our flights out of Syracuse were all cancelled due to high winds. We had to drive down to Binghamton to get to Disney. Here is some pixie dust for all of us flying out in January!

I think you ought to ask Santa to set up the Wii. It'll make morning that much better! ;)

Last time I was home for Christmas, Santa was still dropping off presents for us. I was 29.

However, Santa did NOT leave presents for my parents, but they did stuff one another's stockings anyway. (In my later teens, I insisted that if my bro and I got stockings, my parents should, too... so I bought some and put things in them for them... but Santa, he still visits! :rotfl: )

No, my parents and I never had a discussion about whether or not Santa really exists. But he doesn't seem to know that I live in Michigan, now!

This is too funny. Last year, our DS (almost 5 at the time) was quite disappointed that Santa forgot to leave stuff in Mommy & Daddy's stockings. He still talks about it. We usually put stuff like socks, etc., in the stockings, but time just ran out. I just know when he sees Santa he's going to bring this up! :lmao:

UPGRADE!:thumbsup2

(I'm such a bad influence! )

Okay, so if I were to change to AKL... (because of the new discount) what would my penalty be? I'm past my 45 days.

Okay, so if I were to change to AKL... (because of the new discount) what would my penalty be? I'm past my 45 days.

See that is my question, because I'm doing a package and I'm now past the 45 day mark, I too need to know what the penalty for changing my package would be...maybe I'll have to call at lunch time and find out.

Whew! Lots of sick little Snowbirds lately! I hope everyone is feeling better soon. We've managed to stay healthy for about a week now so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we're done for a while- at least through the end of January!

Thanks for all the responses about Santa!!! You gals (um and guys- I think we have a few still:laughing: )are the best! I decided we're going to go with my family's tradition with wrapped stuff from dh and I and unwrapped stuff from Santa- and stockings from Santa too of course! We did it my dh's way until now but my son is starting to get a little older and I'm afraid he'll start to pick up on the fact that the wrapping paper and handwriting is the same.

Luckily Santa is going light this year and there's only two things to put together- a baby doll portacrib which should take about 30seconds to pop open and the Mickey Mouse Race track which may take a little longer. That's okay though because Santa and Mrs. Claus like putting stuff together. Santa builds a fire in the wood stove while Mrs. Claus makes hot chocolate and then we head downstairs to hide in the family room til the kids are sleeping. Once we get the all clear- we put on some Christmas music (quietly) and start putting things together:) :santa:

Just wait until you find yourself looking at the tail lights of the car as your :cutie: drives away from Thanksgiving, going to her "home" that has nothing to do with you! :guilty: You know that this is the way it's supposed to be, but still, there's that tug . . .
This broke my heart! My mom always says it's so strange that her babies (ages 30 and 34) live in a different house and hers is so empty and quiet.:sad1: They sure do love having the grandkids over now though!

Just wait til you hit 40 - OUCH!
My closest girlfriends and I all hit 40 this year and we wanted to do something special, but we can't afford a big trip or anything, so in a week we're having a "girls weekend" at one of our cabins. Just a little getaway! This was much harder on me than 30, but I also didn't have my kids until after I was 30.
30 has been okay. I really thought it was going to be worse- we'll talk again at 40 though. I think that will be the tough one.

So after waiting on hold for her to try and massage our flights so that we don't get in too much later, I ask her whether there is any possibility of changing our return times so that we can actually use the last day of our vacation (we were scheduled to leave at 7:30am as that was the latest time available for our fare when I originally booked). She says "oh, I see where your return flights were altered, so yes I can make changes to them. What would you like?" Here's me: :rolleyes1 "Ummm".... (inside, I'm hoping and praying for some pixiedust: right about then).... "is there anything later?" She then proceeds to ask whether evening would be okay.... Me: :hyper: "Um, yes" - and voila - we now have a flight leaving at.....drumroll please.... 6:30PM.

Color me happy!!! :jumping1:

So, to those of you whose flights have changed, it might be worth it to call your airline and see if you can swing something more favorable!! I just managed to snag another half-day in the park for my family!!!
Yeah for you!!!!! :cool1:

We're wondering whether Santa should set up the Wii the girls want. That TV is also by the fireplace, so wouldn't that be nice? ;)
You definitely should set up the Wii...and perhaps even give it a test run too! :rolleyes1 I'm sure they'll want to play it right away!
At my house gifts were left especially from Santa and I remember that Santa always left me a thank you note for the cookies and milk..which were always eaten and the carrot sticks for Rudolph and the other reindeers which were always gone!!!
We leave a carrot outside and sprinkle magic reindeer food on the lawn for the reindeer (dry oatmeal with red and green glitter).
When DS was about 2 I started this elf thing. You know how most parents tell there kids Santa is watching well I told him one day his special elf was watching him. He asked what his name is; the closes thing to me was his huge Barney stuff toy. So I said Barney the Elf. Barney the elf started leaving present for them, telling them about being good. My sister become the elf and always took it two steps to far. Extreme buying I should say, like a play station sitting on our steps one year.:sad2: Of course a couple years later the movie Santa clause with Tim Allen came out, and yes Barney the elf was in it. OMG I said there he is!!!
What a cool coincidence- Barney the Elf! What are the odds!

One year Santa snuck into my room and put a Rainbow Brite doll in my bed. That is the best Christmas I remember.:goodvibes

We are not doing Santa this year. Belle has absolutely NO INTEREST in him at all. If it's not Mickey Mouse, she turns her nose up.:snooty: I was really hoping to do Santa this year, but we are just going to buy lots of Disney World goodies instead.

However, she is very into Baby Jesus. She calls him Baby Jee-zee (which sounds like a rapper to me) and everytime she see's a nativity scene she's runs to it in awe and gives the baby a kiss. Now that beats Santa excitement anyday in my book!
 I just pictured a rapping and dancing baby Jee-Zee! That's so sweet! What a cute idea to leave something special on the bed. I may have to try that this year! I loved Rainbow Brite too- she ranks right up there with Strawberry Shortcake!

Hi Snowbirds,

I've been off the 'birds thread for awhile. We have been playing pass the virus in our house. DD started to feel really bad just as we sat down for Thanksgiving Dinner and I spent Black Friday (DH had to work) trying to find a doctor to see her. My Dr. was closed, her Ped. was closed. I tried 4 of those walk-in places but they were backed up for hours. I finally got her in one place and made a comment that after dragging DS around to all these places we'd soon be back. Well we made it to Monday morning before he got it! I've got the Med. chart on the fridge and I'm always checking to see who's next. My thought was that if they are sick now.....They won't be sick next month? Right? fingers crossed please! I actually was glad DD got sick over the Holiday rather during a school week and miss school! I kept saying you can't afford to miss school...you have to be better by Monday! She just rolled her eyes....If she only knew!

At our house santa wraps in solid red paper with printed tags. He also leaves a tell tale trail of pixie dust...ah, I mean magic Santa dust behind. Santa leaves a few crumbs on the cookie plate and a little sprinkle of magic dust (micro fine glitter). His milk glass gets switched out for a clean glass and I make a chapstick lip print and dust that too! Then we leave a little dusting of glitter on all the santa presents. Because they are all wrapped in red and under the tree the glitter really stands out. Yes, it leaves a little mess but it is so worth it!

Only 35 more days until I'm in my Happy Place!
Hope all the germs are out of your soon!

What a cute glittery idea!!! I just may have to try that too- definitely on the cup!

So cute he created his very own Disney character- perhaps he'll be an Imagineer when he grows up!

 Hugs to you and Happy birthday to your DS.A Sag like my self, of course he rocks. We are the most lovable people.:rotfl: Ok, we can be moody!:rotfl:
When my DS turned 13, I was in this shock for weeks before, saying how is he going to be 13. I look at him sometimes now laying on the couch and think OMG:scared1: be looks so big. I think in my mind he is still my little guy, but he is all most a man.:sad1:

Good Thursday to all Snowbirds :goodvibes Been a busy week here for me and haven't posted much but I do have a question regarding the discount and possible upgrading....is this something that can be taken in addition to the buy 4 get 3 free? What is the penalty for changing after the 45 day mark?

Thanks!

32 Days till Dinner with Mickey

I almost forgot...
50 DAYS FROM TODAY I'LL BE EATING ONE OF THESE :mickeybar at MK !!!!!!!:cool1:

I am really in the mood to start packing my suitcases and backpack for the parks! Guess I should get my Christmas presents wrapped first.

Hi. Tried to get the new discount, but found out the weekends are blacked out (1/24-25). I could get the family suite for $151 a night, but full price for the weekend, so total cost is around $10 more than what I have with the AAA discount.

A regular room at a Value would only be $680 for the whole 11 nights! Wow! Good luck to anyone who's trying to upgrade.

Oy to call or not to call!! I would love to find out if I could upgrade at all and what the price would be...I guess that answers it I'm going to at least call and find out LOL

Thank you very much for this information. I looked shortly after 7am but it wasn't up as of yet. It looks like it might have some restrictions so who knows if I will receive it or not. I emailed my travel agent only to discover she is off until next week! She has left the name of another agent that I have now contacted and I will await for her reply. Hopefully good news. Why does this always happen just before I have to go into work?

Thank you all for your good wishes of health.:flower3: I truly do appreciate them. I went to the doctor and he said it was only viral so no meds for me. I do seem to feel a bit better so I will hope I am near the end.

Remmy
