Glad to hear your hubby is okay after accident!!!!

Okay, I just caught up from yesterday.

Maggied- You sould like you are doing well. I'm so glad!:grouphug:

I'm getting nervous about the dining plan list.

I'm jealous of the snow. (Sorry... but I am.:confused3 )

Jen-Baked potato soup sounds delicious!

We had to take out little Tinkerbelle to the ER last night. She was running such a high fever that she started babbling and acting very strange. It turned out she had a reaction to her cold medicine. We got home at 5 am and slept until noon. Belle is still asleep. Poor little girl!:sad2:

Oh No Soleil!! I'm glad to hear that it wasn't too serious, but I'm sure you had a scare!! Hope she gets to feeling better!!!!

Meghan-I worked retail for several years at Christmas time. I still have nightmares about folding the "wall-o-sweaters" at Express!

At Old Navy, we hate folding the denim wall. It really stinks! That and graphic tees. No thanks!

Glad to hear that everything turned out ok. We have had a few horrible nights in the ER before with our little princess. Not fun at all!

Well, we just got done decorating the Christmass tree about an hour ago. It looks fabulous! I had totally forgotten about my new ornament from my mom last year. It's Tink (of course) and she's stuck in the keyhole! It's so cute! We'll most likely put up our outdoor decorations next weekend. I have to get ready for my girls night. My dance team is having a pj party and we'll be watching old dance team videos or maybe the sex and the city movie. I never watched the show, but I've heard that the movie was pretty good. Time to go make Chicken Wing Dip!!!

Jen- I just remembered that you said you had IHOP today. Well, me and the fam went to The Original Pancake House! Great minds think alike I guess. :) I actually didn't have pancakes. I had a belgian waffle with fresh strawberries! Yummy!

Evening Snowbirds! Hope everyone is well on this chilly evening!

Wendy- I'm glad you got so much done so you can hopefully relax a bit before the surgery.

Soleil- I'm glad Belle is okay. That must have been truly frightening for you!

I'm off to order a pizza....which sounded really yummy until i heard someone was having baked potato soup! Mmmmm.

We are in S/E Pa about 20 miles west of Phila. I saw from reading the post that there were a lot from Pa. We meet a lot of people from Pa. in WDW when we are down there. I even ran into someone from down the street once. Didn't even know they were going down.

Sounds like you're in my neck of the woods (or thereabouts). Welcome!

I just got a coupon for pizza in the mail! I was debating what to get, and I 'm here reading about IHOP, soup, pizza...What to eat?? I suppose I could ask my kids what they want (DH is working), but we all know the answer - chicken nuggets!! LOL

Hmmmm...I had an omelette and hashbrown oh so good...but waffles sound really good.

Just got done making the baked potato soup and now let all the flavors simmer together...this is by far my favorite soup ever LOL!!!

I was forced to eat McD's chicken nuggets for lunch today. I dragged my kids out while I ran errands and it was my peace offering.

You wouldn't want to share that recipe for your baked potato soup would you? It sounds so yummy- perhaps I will make it tomorrow!

Okay! The kids agreed to eat pizza - of course I ordered cinnamon sticks too - that will encourage them to eat it. I have odd kids, they don't eat much pizza - whose kids don't eat pizza???

Oh- it's here! Gotta go chow down!!

Well I'm glad somebody is here! :yay: I thought I was going to have to start talking to myself like Maggied!! :lmao:

I am telling you it was a pretty one sided conversation.....:lmao:

Also from PassPorters: (and yes, I'm still waiting for my books!)

Good news for all you strong coffee lovers - Disney has announced that in response to guest feedback, it will be changing the formulation of it's coffee to be stronger. The coffee itself will not be changing, just the ratio of coffee to water that is used to brew it.

YEAH!!!!:cool1:

Jen I would love your recipe if you would like to share... DD love potato soup....

Went to DS concert today... the drive was only about an 1 1/2 hour... it was fabulous.... orchestra, chorus and band.... All State.... so the best of the best.... DS was third chair... quite impressive for a sophomore saxaphone... our school had the highest amount of kids selected...the music program is really outstanding... I really enjoy the orchestra.... we don't have one in our school... it was such a treat.... such beautiful music....such amazing kids...

Also wrapped all the gifts I bought so far... DH took me out to dinner... we went to Smokey Bones... they have a chicken salad that is served warm with goat cheese, dried cherries and pecans... so yummy.... now my boys are leaving to go hunting so I will have a quiet evening here alone.... I think it might be an early bed night... just a little tired out...

Evening feathered friends. It will be a quiet night at home. I just sat down with some cappuccino to watch a movie on Hallmark Channel. We're having pizza too.

Well, the pizza actually was eaten by my DDs!! My DD7 just doesn't like a lot of sauce, so the thin crust that doesn't have much worked prettty well. I have to make them go to bed early - they are crazy!! We just played an hour long game of Sorry! I won!! :yay: I need a quiet evening and a movie!

That sounds like such a fun day/evening!! You should be so proud (and I sense that you are!:) ) And what a yummy salad! Enjoy your quiet time!

Jen, another chime-in here for the soup recipe!

BellaS-glad little Tinkerbelle is doing better. I had a reaction to penicillin when I was really tiny and I almost died-had it been an injection instead of oral, I would have. So.....it's scary when they are tiny and can't say what's wrong.
Thanking the Lord with you that she's okay!

Day 2 of my boots and I love them more today than yesterday!!!!!!We have a very busy day tomorrow, so I may not get to chat until Monday!! Church, lunch, house warming, b-day party for a 5yo friend,Church Play Practice.....then I will crash because there will be NO time for an after church nappy!!!! Have a blessed Sunday!!!

Recipe for Baked Potato Soup

WARNING THIS IS NOT HEALTHY ONE BIT

I use about 4-5 Baked potatoes (I just microwave potatoes for about 18-20 minutes) I do these early enough so that they have time to cool before I use them.

Recipe for Soup

2/3 cup butter
2/3 cup flour
6 cups milk (I use 2%)
salt and pepper for taste
4-5 green onions chopped
potatoes peeled and cubed
1- 8oz container of sour cream
1-2 bags of bacon bits ( I use 2 because my NDH loves BACON)
1/2 bag of cheddar cheese

Melt butter completely on med. high then add flour slowly to create a roux.
Add milk 1 cup at a time whisking completely.
Continue to whisk until mixture is thick and creamy. Once thick turn the heat down to low (you don't want to burn it)
Add salt and pepper for taste.
Add the green onions, potatoes, and bacon bits.
Stir in the entire container of sour cream and keep stirring while it melts.
Once melted add the 1/2 bag of cheddar cheese a handful at a time. Stir while cheese melts, this will give the soup an orange tint to it.
Let the soup sit on low for about 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to simmer in the soup. You can also put into a crock pot and allow it to sit on warm for awhile. Check on it and stir the soup every once awhile.

Serve in a bowl and top it off with a little bit of cheese as a garnish.
At our house we cut up some pieces of bread for dipping.

Hope you enjoy!! PM me for any questions.

Hi Snowbirds! Been busy today and we want shopping.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Dates are Jan 25 - Jan 31
We always go in January and we try to make it one of the last two weeks. Staying at Saratogo Springs for the first time. :cool1:
WELCOME! :cool1:

Here's a review from the PassPorter newsletter: (I hope this copies!)
Thanks, we are eating here on NYE, and plan on getting the kitchen sink.

There are a ton of us on here from PA. So we get a good laugh everytime we get a new PA Snowbird! I am in the Pittsburgh area. A lot of the PA Snowbirds are from central or eastern PA.
Delaware County Pa. here :)

Hey Snowbirds, just checking in for the evening. Went to dinner with my family, nephew, parents and grandparents to Texas Roadhouse. Had never been there and it was pretty yummy! After that went to buy hubby an IPhone. Just another thing that beeps and lights up in our house! He's such a little boy. Initially I thought he was paying for it out of his second job income then when we get there, he forgot his debit card, so I had to charge it! UGH! Sometimes I feel more like a mother than a wife! I'm raising 3 boys!! His mom just giggles and shakes her head and jokingly tells me I knew what I was getting in too. (We'll be together 14 yrs next week, so I should be used to it I guess)!:confused3 ;) Good thing he's cute and can cook!

This is almost the exact same recipe that I use for Baked Potato Soup. I usually fry my bacon up. This soup is SO GOOD!! I'm hungry just thinking about it, although I don't think Weight Watchers would give me enough daily points to enjoy this one! LOL

I have had such a productive day! Most of my Christmas shopping is finished. I have some small odds and ends to get but for the most part DONE. My Christmas cards have been ordered. We actually bought an artificial tree today (not thrilled but am compromising) It's up but needs to be tweaked before we can decorate it. Plus, I came home from shopping and found that my DH did ALL of the cleaning :woohoo: I was so happy.

Your DH must be related to my DH!! :rotfl: My DH loves gadgets. We've got every electronic gadget known to man. DH actually inquired the other day about getting me a new iPhone but we couldn't talk the AT&T people in to giving me the discount just yet. I just got my Blackberry in June, so I have to wait a bit longer.

Oh, and my hubby is cute and cooks, too!
