It was really that bad! It smelled like someone was making feta cheese under an intense heat advisory...in my living room!

Out went our lovely tree.....Yes, we had to get rid of our tree BEFORE Christmas! In went the fake Christmas Trees ever since! When you start to associate the smell of old funky cheese with Christmas....... It's time to go plastic!:lmao:

OMG - that is hilarious!! We have had both, before kids we always had real. Growing up, we had fake. Before kids for a few years we had two - one of each! Then when we got more decorations and furniture, we had to narrow it down to one. Now we have a slim tall one that goes in a corner and can be seen from our window plus we put the village in the window. The girls each have a mini-tree with mini ornaments (including Disney princesses!) in their rooms.

My goal is to have an entire tree of Hallmark Ornaments instead of having to use glass balls. We had finally made it at my parents house...the year I got married so I ended up with half the ornaments and mom and I are both starting over trying to work our way to the all HALLMARK tree LOL!!!

Cool! When we had two trees, I had a themed one with all white and gold - balls, ribbons, etc. The other tree had all the cute family ornaments.

Becky---I checked on Cont. this morning and the flights are at $210!! I told Mike he better get it today! I don't remember them being this low for the last 5 years!!!!

That is the lowest I've ever seen it! I would jump soon! Although I saw $1.80 gallon unleaded on Sunday so perhaps thats an indication that the prices could go lower. We got our tickets for $245 ish x4! That just stinks! I wish we'd waited! But yeah for you!!!

Wow! Christmas ALREADY! ;) In our House, Christmas doesn't start until the kids are done school and IT ends on New Year's Day! I am not a grinch or anything, I just don't like to drag it out more than necessary! It is such a lot of work for just ONE DAY! :) This year we are not even getting a tree! We are going to DH's parents house for Christmas and then we will too busy getting ready for Disney! I nearly passed out when I heard Christmas music beong played in our local Walmart last week! Sheesh! Talk about early!

All of this Christmas talk is making me feel festive!!

We always get a real tree. I like going out and cutting it down. The whole process is a tradition. We have been getting out tree the weekend after Thanksgiving but I think we're going to wait another week this year. I want the tree to be alive for Christmas.

No time here in the next week to start the Christmas decorating... we put up two trees also... a fake one in the formal living room that is all red and gold (with lots of Mickey gold ornaments) and then a real 10ft tree in the family room (we have really high ceilings) with all the family ornaments on it...

Sharadoc.... very interesting article about POP.... I happen to think POP is tons of fun.... but then I am close that that half centruy age ...lol....

I also think POP has a great food court... we always go the kids breakfast there... plenty big enough for an adult... the waffles are so yummy....

I agree it is a lot of work! That's why I get it out as soon as possible...So I can enjoy it for a month! I really do just love the whole feeling our house takes on. It makes me want to go and bake muffins for all the neighbors! (yeah, right after I tackel everest in the laundry room and the dish pile growing skyward);)

I did tell DH that it has to all be down and put away before Jan 1st. We leave on the 8th and I don't want to come home to Christmas decorations and eyerolling neighors on the 18th.:rotfl:

Hello there everyone! I've missed a few things from the past few days, and don't have the energy to read it all to catch up...please forgive me:flower3: . Hope everyone is doing alright.

Topic of Christmas....hmmm...let's not get me started. I work in retail. We put up Christmas Ornaments in Sept. This past weekend really started all the Christmas shopping which means all the really happy people !!!:thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Ok, I think it's time for a nap since I was up at 3:45am for work.

I too won't have time to start decorating until Thanksgiving week when I have more time off!! Until then I just have to listen to my husband complain how it isn't decorated yet LOL!!!! I hope to find our Santa hat for the bear on our wall LOL!!!

Ah - a woman after my own heart! I too am around your age, although I (or nature) waited to have my children - they're 13 and 7 :scared1: Looks like we should be there around the same time - we should try to meet up and sit and have a nice cup of coffee while all the young'uns go running around :rotfl:

Speaking of my DD- update on the Christmas presents from a few days ago (grandma won't buy her American Girl doll). I told her Santa can't bring her everything on her list, so she should decide what she REALLY wants. She decided that, in addition to an American Girl Molly, she also needs Emily, her best friend. GREAT! Now I have to decide if the budget will allow it!!!! :confused3

Plus, I asked her why she stuck out her tongue at her grandmother, and she told me she didn't know, that she doesn't know what it means so why was it bad? I tried to explain that it was "I don't like you, I don't want to play with you", but I was actually having trouble.

We do the side of the tree that faces out in purple and gold. Hmmm. The inside has our fun ornaments.

We also do fake because I'm also allergic. Man, those suckers make me ITCH.

Our's will probably go up the Sunday after Thanksgiving. My DH will complain and then drag the tree up and complain some more. Then he'll turn on the Vikings game and happily help me decorate. It's like a ritual!

My parents' was more fun. Lots of loud Christmas music and hot cocoa. I take what I can get! ;)

Thank you for such a great link Soleil!!! I'm copying and pasting many of the things to say and I know I'm definitely going to try them out while I'm in Disney WOOT!!! :rotfl:

I think I posted on that board a while back! The thing we've discovered is that the characters will really GO with what you're saying. We have a TON of pictures of my husband with Goofy, so I'll be saying things like "look it's Daddy's old friend Goofy" I'm sure Goofy will give the thumbs up, a big hug to DH and agree with whatever I say with that big, nodding head of his!!! :goofy:

I feel silly (as an adult) interacting with the characters. I guess I'm scared that inside that costume is a person thinking I am a complete wierdo.

I'm going to try my best to not be shy and interact with the characters.

BTW.... in real life I am actually very shy.

Thanks Everyone about the FAKE TREE advice. DH is not thrilled with getting one. I said we need to go green. I was the one who always had the fake tree, and we always put it up on my birthday (Dec.19th). But I am over that now, and the kids are older. But were do you cut down your tree in Pa.?
Just in case! We used to go to a nursery down the street, but they closed. Last year we bough our tree in parking lot, because we had no were else to go.

BellaSoleil- Great Link:thumbsup2 I posted about DS and the evil step mother and sisters.

Me neither LOL!! I too am going to try not to be weirded out by the fact that I'm an adult who wants to interact with characters LOL!
