It's been hectic here so I haven't been able to post much, but couldn't resist the weather acclimation conversation. DH is from upstate NY, but this summer at the pool I knew he'd officially acclimated. It was 85 degrees one day in August and he looked at me and said, "We need to leave. It's too cold to be at the pool...." 85 degrees!!!

Sharadoc, I am so sorry for your daughter. She's too little to have to be dealing with this! I did get my little girl the Elizabeth and a few outfits for Christmas-that's her main gift- we are doing a couple of other little things to go with it. I had to get that doll out and look at it when it came in. Shes SOOOOOO pretty!!!!

Becky-Mike got the airline tickets today!!!! They may drop, but we didn't want to chance it. And-Praise the Lord, we had exactly the amount of reward points we needed I was soooo thankful!! That worked out great. So, if we waited and they went up at all, we'ld have been out a ticket. So, it worked out well!! They already posted my conf.on my email!!! It's so exciting to see that!!! YIPPEE

I know!!! I am glad it stopped-it was forecasted for the rest of the week-maybe it rained every drop outta those clouds last night! It got kinda hairy there for a while!!!

I do need to call--gotta wait til the kiddos are outta earshot!!! And yes, I love being one step closer!!!Our flight home is at 5:55, so hopefully we can squeeze in a park breakfast!!! Or one more ride somewhere!! We've never been to the park on departure day before.!! I am pumped!!

Ah - a woman after my own heart! I too am around your age, although I (or nature) waited to have my children - they're 13 and 7 Looks like we should be there around the same time - we should try to meet up and sit and have a nice cup of coffee while all the young'uns go running around

Speaking of my DD- update on the Christmas presents from a few days ago (grandma won't buy her American Girl doll). I told her Santa can't bring her everything on her list, so she should decide what she REALLY wants. She decided that, in addition to an American Girl Molly, she also needs Emily, her best friend. GREAT! Now I have to decide if the budget will allow it!!!!

Plus, I asked her why she stuck out her tongue at her grandmother, and she told me she didn't know, that she doesn't know what it means so why was it bad? I tried to explain that it was "I don't like you, I don't want to play with you", but I was actually having trouble.

Awww... how can she hold her accountable for something that she didn't even understand?

I feel silly (as an adult) interacting with the characters. I guess I'm scared that inside that costume is a person thinking I am a complete wierdo.

I'm going to try my best to not be shy and interact with the characters.

BTW.... in real life I am actually very shy.

I'm shy in real life too! However, it's the "face" characters that make me nervous. Something along the lines of being able to tell that they're real people. The fully costumed more cartoon like characters don't bother me as much, because I can't see their reaction. I can write them off as moving stuffed animals.

Becca!! That's funny--stuffed animals!! Ha!! I know, I wonder how many times a day are the face characters smiling at people thinking, are you serious. Or when they get a reallllllly bad kid--I have to take a picture with this kid? I would be cracking up laughing if I had their job. I just couldn't hold it if something was really funny-or if a kid did something that's funny for someone else's but your kid would be punished!. Man--they have hard jobs!! I would love to do Mary Poppins-since she IS a nanny she can correct any kid she thinks needs redirecting

I really feel bad for the characters who get big hugs from people who don't believe in deodorant in the summer months. Wow! Those people were STINKY!!!!

Girl!!! Pet Peeve!!!!!! How simple is it to put on a little deo everyday? My almost 13 yo son has been using it for about a year---if he misses a morning brother and sister are quick to remind him!! He hardly ever forgets! How do grown people not know this? YIKES!!!!!

I think my confirmation email gave me the date - I know the CM I talked to told it to me and I wrote it down. I should put a reminder in my calendar too!

DH found out piglet is not real in 2005, he still is in shock.Piglet's zipper was down in the back. I had the waitress tell Piglet.

Well today certainly was better than yesterday- a full 24 hours without my ds getting sick- thank goodness. My dd hasn't gotten it and hope she doesn't. I hate the stomach flu. I'd rather wipe noses for a month than deal with vomit. Sorry I hope everyone is done with their dinner before they read this!

Christmas Trees- I loved the story about the smelly cocktail tree! Yuck. We have a real tree every year. I grew up with a real one. My dh grew up with a white/silver aluminum tree and hated it so I've converted him to real. We're going to get ours the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I'm hoping it makes it til Christmas.

My dh's only complaint when we went for our honeymoon in the heat of late July was the smell of some of the people. We sat behind a woman at the Indiana Jones Stunt Show and the fans were blowing it directly to our noses. We had to get up and move- it was horrible!

Christmas tree story: Our first home we bought, I was all ready to get a tree and decorate-hubby couldn't have cared less! So I was in tears, his mom gave me a small 4 ft tree and some ornaments, then I went to Big Lots to buy a few more (didn't have much money) and got the tree decorated. I hated it! I just couldn't believe he didn't want to start our own holiday memories instead of using "borrowed" memories!! Fast forward about 10 years, we're in our second home, 2 kids, and now it's a RACE for hubby and the neighbor hubbies as to who gets the outside lights up first!! I guess it just took a few years for him to get in to the adult mode for holidays, but now he's all for it!! The next not-too-cold day, he said he's putting the lights up. He's mad he didn't get them up Halloween weekend, just to make the neighbors mad!!

On the phone again with the CMs at Disney...going to keep trying to upgrade if I can...Phillip totally Okayed it LOL!! I'm not quite sure what the music I'm listening to is right now...I think it might be Soarin' ...hmmmm....I wish it was The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast LOL!!!
