I will track your door down and sign...I will be at Pop the same time as your family.

EVERYONE, thank you all for the sweet words and :grouphug: for my Grandmother. We did share some funny stories tonight. And it was raining, then snowing. Wisconsin weather is CRAZY....yes, 60's & 70's for 3 days, Snow the next 2. I am off to bed as I'm exhausted. Hoping the snow does not continue on for tomorrow. I might have to break out my winter boots for the burial!

I too will come sign if I'm there while you are there!! I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to decorate my window or not and how to make those window clingies! I would love to take our snowbird emblem (from the DISign board) and make something with it!!!! I also need to find some creative ways to use my lime green Mickeys..I think those will be my projects during my Christmas break LOL!!

Last post of the evening as I will be heading to bed soon!!! Someone mentioned free dining..don't know if it will be coming out or not but if it did I would be a very happy camper that is for sure!! But for now I'm very happy with how my trip has turned out LOL!

HI Snowbirds ~

I haven't posted in FOREVER........my, how we have grown!!

My TA just changed my ressie from ASMo to Port Orleans Riverside......a better room for less $$$. Yippee, January deals!! :cool1: I am soooo excited about the refrigerator & coffee pot!!!

Anyone stayed there? Please tell me you loved it!!

We stayed there in 2001 and loved it. I thought about upgrading to there from POP with promotion...but no availablity.

Hey everyone - our first design is up! Here's a link to the thread.

Those folks are SO creative.

Take a look at the first one - what movie? I was thinking Roger Rabbit or Enchanted. Definitely looks familiar.

I believe that is Flick (not sure if I spelled it right) from Pochantas.

QOTD...
I can't wait to get a Dole Whip and one of those cinnamon rolls from the bakery on Main Street.

I posted how I'm going to make my window clings on the Snowbird design thread. I have a bunch saved in Word I'm just trying to decide which ones to make...there are so many I liked.

Oh-oh! I hope I haven't left it too late to call about the discount! Apparently now I have to wait up until 11pm our time to call Disney! Boooooo!!!!

I don't really understand how the codes are working for some people and not others. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens with ours!? :confused3

Anybody know what you can use your $200 voucher on? Alcoholic drinks at restaurants maybe? Cause that would be cool. Hehehee. :thumbsup2

Meghan, we are taking the kids tomorrow-they are really excited. I wanted to tell you that I loved your picture. The outfits are adorable and ya'll are a beautiful couple. Yes, your dd does look just like you!!

Thanks for your kind words. We had so much fun at our party. I don't even remember the last time I got dressed up for Halloween, but it was really fun.

I'll be dancing pretty much all day today, so I won't be able to hang out with all of you. I hope that you all have a FABULOUS Saturday! I'll be back later!

First off, how cool is it to see a baptism in the Jordan River?!?! I think I'd be completely breathless at that!:goodvibes

Secondly, please do not worry about staying at Sports. We've only stayed at Values (Music) but in my opinion, they are great. You've said yourself that you probably won't be spending too much time in the room, so I really wouldn't try to get too worked up over it.

For me, it's fun to see how Disney takes a specific theme and how they incorporate that into other things.

Even though you aren't into sports, you'll be at Disney...with your family, that out weighs any resort.

I think too many times we get so focused on making "The Perfect Trip". However it's not the resort or adr's that make "The Perfect Trip", it's the laughter between family members, it's the little inside jokes and stories that are created and shared for months and years later.

You are right! You know, I mentioned to our kids that we'd be staying at All Star Sports and they flipped! They love the idea! Of course, it came packaged in my special Carrie package. I tend to be very, very excitable. :lmao: so, Pop has been forgotten and they are totally focussed on All Star Sports. So, I guess that's that. I checked out the pictures and it does look like fun. So, I'll just have to pretend I'm a sports fan for a week at Disney. I can do that.

Pictures of the baptism? I'll load some up to Photobucket and get back to you!

Well I did get my Chef Mickey's breakfast and the Ohana's Dinner!! I'm eating very early at Chef Mickey's so I'll still make rope drop at MK I didn't want to miss that for anything. I'm still staying away from lunch ADRs as I don't want to interrupt my exploring the parks...although I'm still undecided about breaks, but I don't want to kill myself either LOL!! All I know is that its a good thing I'm a morning person and I won't be up too too late most nights LOL!! Only Haunted Mansion night is my only late night LOL!!

Well now that I have reached my limit of LOLs I'm going to head to play practice. Phillip and I are playing the couple in our church cantata this winter. Have a great evening all!!

Hooray!!! Did u get a good time for O'Hana?

OKAY! HERE IT IS! After agonizing about the decision for nearly 24 hrs and mulling over so many different options.....we have decided.......to............UPGRADE! to.........WILDERNESS LODGE! This is my ultimate dream of dreams resort! No way would we ever be able to afford this resort! Well, with the discount, we shortened our package stay to 8 nights woods view with dining and 8 days MYW tix. WE STILL SAVED MONEY even after tacking on a room only ressie on either end (darn those nonrefundable plane tickets) first night at AllStars Sports and last night at POP - both preferred rooms WITH discount from CAA! We still saved over $200 plus the $200 dollar gift card! I am so excited! I don't think I will sleep tonite either! Oh Well! Gotta zoom, I am babysitting for my sis and bro inlaw so they can go Christmas shopping! I shall try to check from there later after the 3 kiddos are in bed! WOOHOO! :woohoo:

That's wonderful! Wilderness Lodge here we come!:yay:

Question:

When I was small my grandma came back from Disney with a cup in the shape of an orange. My DH remembers them too (lucky him, he went when he was small) and thinks they were served near the Tiki room. Does anyone remember what drink was in them?

Thanks Remmy

I had one of those when I was little. My mother saved it from her Disney trip in the 70's. She said it was an orange slush type drink.:goodvibes

Carrie- I'm so glad they are excited! You guys will have a great time! Disney has a way of making you like things that don't normally appeal to you.:)

The codes work for some and not for others because of the dates they're traveling. When I went to book for our dates, there were no moderates left! I could have upgraded, which would have been a great deal on a deluxe but more than I paid with my AAA discount at a mod, so I didn't bite. Yesterday, though, apparently a room at CSR was released and I snapped it up. I had to upgrade the room so it wasn't a great deal, but it got me the $200 gift card. I count that as a savings!

I hope it works for your dates!

Here are a few pictures from the baptism in the Jordan River yesterday. It was a great experience, though the location is kind of set up like a tourist trap!:headache:

My Scot is on the right of the pictures in the water. The other picture was the time when the people being baptized were able to share their faith journey. It shows a bit more of the River in the background.

I made them clickable thumbnails because the pictures were huge.:rolleyes1

Yes I did 6:40pm, give me about an hour to eat and then head down to the beach!! I'm very excited about all of that LOL!!

I am loving reading about everyone's excitement. I'm so freakin' excited I can't stand it. It looks like there's going to be several of us at Pop (I'll be there 1/24-30). My hubby already thinks I'm a dork so I don't know if he'll let me decorate our door!! At least he's as into Disney as I am.

We're planning on using our $200 GC for hubby's bday dinner at Cali Grill (and yes it will include alcholic beverages I'm sure)! I'm glad to have that because otherwise I would be there worried about money while hubby orders yet another bottle of wine (last time we were with hubbys sis and her family and went thru 3 bottles at about $50 a pop-I don't even drink wine)!!

Wow! Thanks so much Carrie!

I'm glad that your kids are excited about staying at Sports!

What is the snowbird design thread? I miss a lot when I'm at work!

The design thread is just a design that someone from over in the DISign area came up with for us!

Ugh. I am up way to early on a Saturday. I don't have to work until 11, but we have funeral at 9 for a friend of the family that passed away.

However I've been up since 4 am, after going to bed at midnight. So needless to say, today should be rather interesting. I believe coffee will be my best friend.:coffee:

Yes.

That's it, yes to everything you listed :rotfl: .
I was there last year at the same time (7-15ish). Our trip started out GREAT! It was upper 70's the first few days and sunny, so for some it would be hot, but for us it was great! Then it progressively got cooler. Our final day was at DHS and we wore sweatshirts all day. Sitting for Fantasmic that night was rather cold!

So I repeat, in answer to the articles of clothing to take....Yes!

Thanks for the info. I'll bring a wide variety! My whole family could live in swishy pants and tshirts, so I'll throw in a jacket or hoodie for everyone and we should be good! We may have to wear the same sweatshirt everyday, but I just hate to pack so many bulky items! (Or it would be a good excuse to buy Disney sweatshirts or jackets)! My oldest has a couple of pr of those cargo pants that the bottoms of the legs zip of to shorts. I think those will be ideal for him!!! Take them off as it warms up, zip bk on in the evening! I'm ready to start packing!! Hubby could weat shorts if it were 30 degrees outside!

Remmy, I remember those too! They definitely came from Adventureland...I remember being in the (slightly scary :scared: ) queue for PotC with one, worrying that I would have to throw the orange cup away if I didn't finish the drink in time before we got to the boat. I don't remember what the drink was! I must have been about 5...around 1974. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! :cutie:
