Yay, we got the code deal thingy too!!!

It took 2 hours to work out though. Yowza!!

It was difficult because we're staying for 12 nights, and apparently the deal is only applicable for stays up to 10 nights. So we had to break our stay into 2 parts, which means we'll probably have to change rooms halfway through our stay. Boooo!

But... we saved over $900, plus we got the gift card, plus we're still staying at Wilderness Lodge. So it's all good!!! :woohoo: :yay:  :cool1: :thumbsup2 :dance3: :cheer2:

Remmy, we were there in Jan of this year, and they still had a pretty good selection of Cars stuff--we bought some for my nephew at the big store in DTD.

Good evening all! I'm glad it was kind of a slow day. I didn't have much to catch up on. My whole body is just exhausted. I danced from 9am until 4pm with just a half hour break. Don't get me wrong, I had a great time...I'm just so tired. My DD and I just watched the Jon and Kate episode when they went to WDW! We had never seen it before and I wish they would have shown more in the parks. My DD kept asking if she can ride certain rides someday. Sometimes, I wish I could tell her about this trip and talk about it. I know it will be worth it though.

Good photo thread for January;

Someone asked about pictures during a january trip. They are a good indicator of clothing and crowd levels. (Of course, we're not busy tonight and this will probably totally get lost and/or ignored by the time everyone checks back in :rotfl: )
Thanks!
I hope all the Snowbirds had a great day.

Mine was ok.

First, I had a phone call from work stating they were closing the place down due to a co-worker's attitude. She is new and I think she has a bad attitude too but management has not listened to me or my other co-workers. Short of the story, all levels of management was called on this incident and they wanted to send her home and me to come in. I said no. I am not coming in on my Saturday off, especially since I worked the last one. I sometimes thinks this co-worker becomes difficult just to get sent home.

Second, all my cleaning plans went out the window, when DH went out for karate but only one other person showed up and he came back home early. He wasn't in the cleaning mood so nothing got done.

Oh well, there is always tonight. Woo hoo for me.

I went to Wal-mart to take a look. It was packed! This is why I try to have all my Christmas shopping done by now. We went in looking for polar fleece sheets but didn't get there due to the crowds.

I have a question for all of you Snowbirds who have gone to Disney recently. Our DS loves Cars. Is there much of the Cars merchandise for sale there? Is it mostly at DHS? We cannot find all of them and we keep telling him wait until we go, there should be tons. Now I am worried that Cars may not be that popular and the selection small.

Thanks, Remmy
Yes, when we were there in Aug. 07 there was. I heard they have there own spot now for meet and greet. And we all know that means GIFT SHOP!!!!!

Evening Snowbirds! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We did lots of running around today. I got the cutest Disney wrapping paper at Target! They also had Tink and Pooh and Princesses! Now to find some time to start wrapping without the kids peeking in on me.

Carrie- I loved the pics!!

Can't wait to look for everyone's Snowbird emblems while we are at Disney!

Congratulations. I heard the same thing on the phone, but when I went to try and book something online, I could put in 11 nights with no problem. I think the limit is on the tickets, not on the rooms. You'll still only get 3 nights free and a 10 day base ticket. I know you're all set, but you might want to check online and see what they say and/or compare the prices.

Yes I posted a few pages ago that I had asked a DISigns person to put together a Snowbird DISign for us. One of them did one with Flit from Pocahontas. I don't know if anyone else will suggest anything once the week starts again and kids are in school, so the creative people can get something done!! I asked on Friday afternoon.

Anyway, here's the link:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2003520

Hopefully we'll decide on one on there currently, or use the one we currently have, and use it to identify ourselves. Check it out - we're thinking window clings, cards on bags, even t-shirts.

We tried to put in 12 nights online (on the Disney World website), and we thought it worked fine. We'd put in the dates 8th - 20th, when we're staying, but when they gave us our online quote, we realised it was actually only for 8th - 18th. So if you have booked online, I'd be careful to make sure you actually got the dates you requested! Eeek! :scared1:

We spoke to 3 different people on the phone and they all told us we'd have to split our stay in half to get our full 12 night package... Very tricky!

I enjoyed POR when we stayed there in 2007. You're going for the marathon, right? Better chance of seeing you, then... or waving in your general direction!

Yes!! Are you still planning staying at POR? How fun!! Sorry, my memory is mush ~ I don't remember, are you running?

We stayed there in Jan 2008. Loved it!! The food court is great, there's beautiful grounds, the pool looked good - we didn't use it though. We were in a mansion building - very quiet. Boat ride to DTD is fun too. We wished we could have stayed longer, but we only had 2 days. You'll enjoy it.:)

Thanks! I've been looking at pics online....I'm so excited! The carriage rides look fun too! I'd love the mansion buildings I think.

Happy Disney morning to me! I just got an e-mail from my TA and he said he was able to secure a better deal for us, still at All Star Sports. Initially the price he quoted saved us about $370, but this morning I found an e-mail that said he has saved us $590! So, our price is now under $3400 total! I sent an e-mail to my mom right away to tell her!:cool1:  :cheer2:   I was somewhat disappointed with the hotel change, but not anymore!

I know I'm not paying. And I know my mom doesn't care. She's just happy to be sharing in the Disney magic with us. But I'm thrilled to be saving her some money!

And wondering if anyone else is planning this: my TA told me I can use our giftcards from Disney to pay our tip at the TS meals! ROCK ON! I was saving pennies for that, but these giftcards will cover what I've estimated for tip and still leave over some spending money! YEAH!

We expected to allow each of our kids to choose one souvenier at $25 or less. I couldn't figure out what we would do with $400 in giftcards. We can't buy much because we can't bring it back here with us. So, to know that it can be used to defray the tip cost just made me smile! But, how does that work? :confused3 I use it like a credit card to cover gratuity?

Well, I'm out of my Disney Drearies and happy again! Good day, Sunshine!

Oh...and to add to that...just 36 more days until we travel! I can't wait to hit US soil!!!!

 What a great deal Carrie!!! I'm so excited for you and your family!!!!

I am happy for everyone getting a great deal on Disney. Congratulations.

Thank you to all who responded to my Cars question. I am feeling better knowing there should be Cars merchandise there still.

It is getting quite cold here. I went to work, avoided my department and found a set of polar fleece sheets on sale.:cool1: As soon as I brought them home DH changed the bedding. That doesn't happen often, so I knew he was getting cold too.

I wish everyone a great day today.

Remmy

Yeah:cheer2: for you Carrie!!! I am glad you feel better about it!!!I can't remember if I told you earlier, but thanks for posting the pictures--that was awesome!!!

And guess what!! This is my 1000th post!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :yay:

I never thought I would make it to a thousand!!! But, yippee for me!!!

Remmy, I know it's been mentioned, but where are you? I thought you said outside of London? Is that right? I would love to vacation over there someday!!!!

Just wanted to add that my little ticker Cinderella is right about halfway!!! Once Christmas-time gets here she's really gonna move!!!

This deal has really escalated the bookings for the first week in January. Just for the heck of it, I keep checking what's available on-line. Right now, there's only Saratoga Springs and Old Key West showing! No mods, no values, no other deluxes!

Yesterday was a messy, cloudy day. Today the sun's out - maybe heading out to look at it!

Hey there everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm enjoying a cozy day at home - it's our 12th anniversary today, so I'm getting spoiled.

From what I have heard from a couple of people, the $200 'gift card' is actually a credit that is added to your KTTW card, so you'd charge the tip to your account or buy gifts with your card as usual (assuming that's what you usually do and you don't carry cash), and then the tip, etc is just deducted from that $200. Any overages would just go against the credit card on your account.

Of course, that's no guarantee that that's what will happen when we actually show up! :rotfl:

Shelly I forgot to thank you for your info about the snacks and the dining plan!

I was way off trying to figure out where that little birdie was from! I was thinking Fantasia:rolleyes1

So glad you're out of your Disney Drearies!!! Those two words just don't go well together.:scared:
I'm glad it can be used for food and tips. I guess you just swipe it like a credit/debit card and they deduct it from your balance? :confused3

Makes me wonder if it will be much more crowded with this deal? :confused3 It can't be as bad as when we went in summer and fall though...Can it????
