Well, in my bin I have:

T-Shirts (LOTS of T-shirts)
3 disney lanyards w/ zip wallets (princess for the girls; Mickey for Me. I asked DH if he wanted one and He looked at as if I had just asked him if he wanted to have his right arm cut off! :lmao: )
GUM - you can't buy GUM anywhere on Disney property!
Guide to the Magic - bought it for the girls (I also ordered the Birnbaums Official Guide but it hasn't arrived yet!)
Empty M&M tubes - for coins for pressed penny machines!
Glow sticks - for evenings in the park!
Travel sized items - shampoo, body wash, sunscreen, lotion etc
Airplane Fun items for the kids - books, small toys, etc!
Ponchos - for the possibility of Rain!
Many, mnay other things that I just can't seem to remember right now! Bad, because I just finished taking pictures of it ALL! :rotfl2:

I totally forgot about the no gum for sale at WDW! I always have a few packs with me in my purse (I like to have options!), so I'll be sure to bring down quite a few packs with me! I'm such a sucker for travel size items. My Target has a whole aisle of them.

I go to lunch and this thread has added ANOTHER 3 pages! We had a soup/chili contest where a bunch of people brought in soup and chili (duh) and we tasted and voted. I am so full I had to log on to DIS just to keep me from slipping under my desk for a nap! :) Is there a napping smilie?
How am I ever going to get any work done today? I have one thing to do and it's taking me 10x as long as it should. Hmmm wonder why? This is WAY more fun!

I have decided not to post a picture of my box - I think others will put me to shame. Plus I don't know how :) I do keep all the surprise gifts for the kids in it, plus my over the door hanger, guide books (when I'm not reading them), my terry flip flop slippers that I found just for this trip...
My DD7 has a DS and I don't know whether it's a Lite or not! (bad mommy) I will check at home and see if I can help answer your question Meghan. (did I spell that right?) But I would bet that before I finish typing this post, someone else will answer you! :)

I guess I have some company in the weather department with people from Upstate NY (Buffalo =Snow) and Ontario and WI. We can commiserate. Even though now it's a pretty darn nice fall day. I'd guess in the mid 50s now and sunny.

Is anyone else old enough to remember in grade school (in the late 70s) when we were told to learn metrics because the whole world used it but the US and we were switching over? What happened to that? I wasted all of 3rd grade learning it!!!:lmao:

You did spell my name right! Buffalo gets such a bad rap for snow! Syracuse gets TONS more! Anyways.....it might snow here tonight and I'm not looking foward to it. It's not supposed to be anything measurable, but it still stinks!

Ok, onto Disney clothing. I was looking through the clearance racks at Target the other day and found Tink tank tops! I bought an XS for my DD and a large for myself (they're really long). I was never one for wearing matching shirts, but it's Disney, so all rules are off. I bought myself a Tink zip-up hoodie from disneyshopping.com and it was only $12.99 (normally 34.50)! I told my DH he could give it to me for Christmas. I also bought myself two t-shirts (one Tink and one that says something about believing on it). I'm so excited!

Also, thanks to the info on the DS once again. When I starting looking into it, I only saw prices for the Lite and I was just a little confused. So, the DS Lite it is!! I'm just keeping my eyes peeled for some good deals between now and Christmas.

Thanks Shelly! I do feel like we are such a great group!:thumbsup2 It is going to be so amazing to be able to actually meet up with some of you! :cool1:

I did lurk a bit this morning but was not able to leave a comment as I was pressed for time! :surfweb: It is nice to see that we can openly discuss our similarities and differences and even disagree and still be kind, caring and respectful of others feelings! :goodvibes It is so rare! Thanks so much all you wonderful SNOWBIRDS who continue daily to add so much into my life! Y'all are awesome! :grouphug:

This could very likely be the only board on here that never argues!! Nobody here is stubborn or hard-headed. It's really nice :lovestruc

I think even if we started to discuss pool-hopping, it would be a nice :rotfl:

QOTD - One of the reasons we chose All-Star Music is the activity at the pool, in case we make it an early night. We'll watch a movie and the parents still be able to veg out  while the kids are having some fun. If we are in the room, we may be doing homework:eek: My kids know that the best way to get back to Disney is to be successful in doing homework and keeping up with schoolwork so it fits in the schedule.

So, I'm at 2 months and 4 weeks, which is 3 months to me, but I guess it's all semantics!! I think it's time for a little excitement, if not a party :jumping3: Maybe tomorrow is the under 3 months party?

I agree! I love our board. I appreciate everyone being so understanding of one another.

If only our country could get it together like the Snowbirds.

I have a Disney backpack if that counts! All my small toiletries, bathroom items, and other non-daily-essential items are hanging out in there for the next 65 days until they get packed! I'm so ready to go on this trip. Scheduling next semester at college has been a nightmare for me, and thankfully I've finally worked out the best situation. My group projects are insane and causing lots of fighting and stress. Last night I threw off my Uggs and just laid on my couch watching "The Real Housewives of Atlanta!" I gave up. Today thankfully has been a better day. My parents are off to Tampa Bay with the Phillies for the World Series. I was supposed to go as well but it got all messed up so I stayed behind. Tonight I'll be two blocks away from home at my sister's house, with her family that includes 3 month old twin boys. Hopefully I can get some sleep before 8:10 Accounting tomorrow morning! Once everyone goes to bed tonight I'm going to try and catch up with the DIS. Oh dear..

I second! It's always so enjoyable after my stressful school days to come here and relax! :grouphug:

Ok, I know I've brought up the Nintendo DS in the past, but I have one more question about it. What's the difference between the DS and the DS Lite?? We are definately going to get our DD one for Christmas, but I don't know what the difference is. Is the DS Lite just the newer version?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m just catching up on some posts. My Husband (who worked for Nintendo for six years) said the DS screen is much brighter, and it is much lighter. It also comes pink!:thumbsup2

Dancegrl-for me Wal-Mart is the cheapest for the Nintendo-Toys R Us has the best starter pack to go with it. It's a case, a charger, and head phones, and an extra stylus. Available in diff colors. Wal-mart (or ours anyway) doesn't have the same kits, the TRU are just better. Games are just up to you-some stores have the ones you want, some stores don't. I guess it depends on how popular the game is.

Shelly--and all who have kids or are just plain busy--The Vera Hipster is great!! It only holds what you need and your 2 hands are free!! I use it with me and the kids going grocery shopping.Or just running errands.

My little sick boy has been taking a nap for about 2 hours now!! Man, he's just wiped out!! He's got his stuffed dino from the Wacky Bear store with him. I would take a picture of him, but it would wake him up. Aren't they just precious when they are napping!!!Oh, and he's 9 and would be mortified if he knew I just told ya'll that!!!

I agree-who wants to run for office first? I think we could do it!! Northern Disney Girl, Peach3s and anybody else not in the US would def get the job of ambassador for that country!!! I know that there are several of you across the pond--so decide between you who it's gonna be!! Wouldn't that be hysterical!!!!

How adorable! Not that he's sick, of course, but that he naps with a dino still! My sister just had twin boys, and I had wanted her to have at least one girl, but I'm so excited they're little boys. Growing up I only had her, and we have pretty much all female cousins, so it's exciting to be around two little men. The sleep with little cuddlies now, soft little blankets with a stuffed animal head on one end - I love it!

Regarding the Nintendo DS - my DD asked for one and I just can't justify it for the price at her age. She's going to be 8, and I know there are good little kid games for them, but I worry that it could become an obsession. I did see a game system on QVC last week and ordered it. It hooks up to the TV or runs as a hand-held on batteries with a screen. The controls are like typical video games, but the games are more simple - like Space Invaders, Breakout, driving games, Tetris, stuff like that. Cost around $30. It's called a 75-in-1 or something like that.

The other good news on Christmas gifts - looks like Grandmom is willing to get the American Girl Molly that she so DESPERATELY wants. Mom may be getting off a little cheaper this year :cheer2: Oh yeah, except for two weeks at Disney World. :rotfl:

Oh - I am so far behind, so I won't even bother looking for posts to quote ....

CAMERA - We have the Canon PowerShot that we bought for the same reason as the poster (Sarbah77? Sorry if it was someone else, my brain is fried these days). We have a SLR we love (Canon Digital Rebel), but didn't want to lug it around. We have been happy with the PowerShot...

DANCE TEAM CROWDS - We went last year during a cheering competition and aside from pretty enthusiastic plane companions, we didn't see much of it. At DHS the competition was held at the Indiana Jones stage, so that performance was canceled.

BOOKS - I just finished "The Sharper the Knife, the Less You Cry" about a woman who is fired from her job at a tech company and follows her dream of attending Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. It's a funny, true story with love and cooking and Paris... a very enjoyable book.

Okay - that's all I can remember!
I need to start doing this :surfweb: a little more...

Ok, this Hipster.

I looked it up!:rotfl: I actually have a few bags like that. Not actual Hipster, but my own cheap version of it:thumbsup2

I love them.

***If anyone wants t-shirt design ideas, head over to the DISigns page. They are amazing there and have great ideas! Plus they are so easy to make.

Do they give instructions on how to make the t-shirt designs?

Christmas shopping: Santa is supposed to bring our family a Wii this year. That's covered since August! Whew! My girls say they're asking Santa for a Wii since it's so expensive. From Mom and Dad, they each want another American Girl doll (yeah, since they're so inexpensive!) They've been warned that Mom and Dad would not get them anything else if they got the AG dolls especially because of Disney coming up. I'm sure Grandma and Papa will make up the difference!! :santa:

I'm undecided about bags/hipsters etc. I hate to carry much in the parks and now that my kids are a little older, I don't really need to. I've been eyeing those Bagallini bags others talk about too. My friend has a similar bag that I may borrow. big enough for essentials, a camera etc. In the past I've carried a basic backpack and my DH is willing to share the burden. I'm sure if it looks like a purse, it will be all mine!
My boss just gave me the go ahead to leave work 45 minutes early!! :yay: Got to go pick up the girls from daycare and feed them quick before we're off to gymnastics. Hopefully you won't have added 10 pages by the time I check back after they go to bed!! :wave2:

Oh my goodness!!!! I can't stand calling a business in the US and getting someone that barely speaks English. I do not mean to sound ugly and I love people of all places.... but you should speak English when your job is to talk to Americans on the phone. GRRR!!!!

I know that my DD wouldn't be super attached to it. She has a VSmile system and a portable one. She used to play it a lot more, but I think she's outgrown it a bit. The DS would be for car rides, plane rides, etc. She really wants it, so that will be her big gift this year.

:confused3

I agree! Some of the other boards get so nasty! I've never been able to enjoy a mostly chatty board like this one. Sometimes you get those knowitalls who just need to rub it in everyone elses faces that they think they know more than you....and more often than not I've found more reliable sources that prove their wrong! :confused3

:grouphug: :hippie: It's all about the snowbird love.

QOTD? Can someone please repeat it, I must have missed it!

Not to double post but..
The DS is something she would really grow with. They have cute programs for little kids all the way up to adult. Best of all, it keeps them quiet! I'm tempted to make a rule: I will only babysitt kids with DS's! You can also use it to check email on the go if you get the wireless adapter for yourself!

Oooh I saw that, and it looks awesome! I also just DESPARATELY HAD TO HAVE a Molly at about age 12. I still have her to this day! Now there are so many American Girls I can't keep up! I remember when it was just five!
