Peaches-
I love the pictures from Georgia Kate's birthday! How did your husband make those cupcakes? I would love to make them one day.:goodvibes

Sorry I haven't been around much. I've had lots of work to catch up here at the church. I did update my Pre-Trip Report. I think it is a good indication of the way my brain feels this week- confused and totally out of it!

How are people riding EE in the dark? Doesn't AK generally close at 5 or 6 most of the time? I was under the impression that AK closed before dark because of the animals, I think I read that somewhere.

Maybe on EMH evenings??? It might stay open until 8pm then, but I think that is mostly during the summer!!! UhOh another thing to go research LOL!!!!

Shelly...........must have missed clicking on the photos of your birthday boy.... what nice photos of all of you.......... at first I thought you were one of the kids..... oh to be young again...............:rotfl:

Wow, one of the kids! :rotfl: You are too sweet!! :goodvibes

That's kind of what I was thinking, when it would be open until 8 it would probably be peak season and it would still be daylight out. :confused3 It must be pretty rare to be able to do it.

Hello Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:
I've been reading faithfully to keep up...but my DIS time is usually when I have a nursing baby in my arms, so it's kind of hard to type replies! :cutie:

:bday: Georgia Kate! (although you're probably asleep by now)
What a beautiful family you have, Carrie!

Soliel, I hope your DH feels better soon. :wizard:

I love the sunrise/sunset calculator! :woohoo: I'd been wondering about that, too. I want to make an ADR for Boma and hit evening EMH at AK on the same evening. I've been debating whether we should eat as soon as Boma opens (5pm) and then go to AK, or visit AK and then have a later dinner. We've never seen AKL and I want to be able to see the views, so I'm thinking we should go there first. DH will :rotfl: when I explain that it's because the sun sets at 5:55pm that day.

Sometime last week (I think?), one of you wonderful Snowbirds posted a recipe for chicken parmesan in the crock pot. I'm so sorry I can't remember who it was...but I wanted to let you know that I tried it and it was GREAT! :yay: The whole family loved it. Thanks!

Thanks also to pinkdiamond for the report on the celebration tour...I don't think I'm going to bother going into DC tomorrow for it.

OK, I'm sure there's more I meant to comment on that I'm forgetting, but this will have to do for now...

Say it isn't so......... when did they cancel your flight:scared1: I have not back up plan..... OMG... I am so stressed now........

We had no backup as well. We woke up around 3:00am and decided to check the flight and (horror:eek:) it was already cancelled! The earliest we could get in was like 6:00pm and we had a 5:30pm ADR. So we gave Binghamton a shot and got down to WDW around 2:00pm. We have no back up plan once more, so let’s hope for 35 degrees and sunny;).

AK has a PM EMH at least once a week in January! From 5-8pm! It'll be good and dark then! According to the sunrise/sunset calendar... it will be dark @ WDW between 535 and 605pm in January! That should make for some pretty fun dark rides on EE! :goodvibes

Okay, I am approaching my 5000th post!

I smell a party coming on!! party: :jumping1:

OOOHHHH! Wait for ME! :drive: YAY Shelly! :yay: 5000 Posts! :woohoo: Perhaps you should get checked for carpel tunnels syndrome! That's a lot of typing , my friend! :lmao:

OK, I just thought of question to ask those of you who have been to WDW recently. When should I expect my documents to arrive in the mail? Does Disney send out mail confirmations and package information? I have online stuff but I want real stuff that I can touch, feel, hold in my hands and drool on! :rotfl2: Do I need to ask them to send it to me or is it done automatically? :confused3

Oooh..Kim a night EE ride..that sounds like a lot of fun!! But I'm going to be strong..I am not going to change my plan once again I must stay strong LOL!!!

Alrighty Everyone!
I am giving myself a headache trying to fit in an EE at night ride! :headache: I think it's time I give it up and make peace with my plans!!!!! :flower3: :hippie:

I am off to rehearsal, and hopefully I'll sneak some dinner in there too!

Have a great night everyone!:wave2:

Hey Becca!! I too went on a graduation trip YAY!!! I wish you the best of luck for your next two semesters!! Two trips in one year, how wonderful!! I'm hoping to go again in Dec. for Christmas!

I think I'm done making changes..I just moved them to a bit earlier in the day that way I could enjoy and get back out to enjoy the parks!! My biggest change was my 50's PTC from 5:30 to 4:55pm that day MK is doing an EMH Evening and a late Spectro and I might try to get over there for that!! We'll see that is the hardest part of going solo is that I can do whatever want but trying to decide beforehand what to do LOL!! I need to settle down the planner inside of me and allow some room for some spontaniety or I'm going to drive myself NUTS!!!:rotfl:

I had the brilliant idea of a graduation trip when I realized my mom and I would be graduating at the same time...it's not going to be like that anymore, but the idea stuck. She's getting her teaching certification, and I'm getting my Bachelor's. However, she took a few terms off, so she's not doing her student teaching until NEXT fall, which means she won't technically be done. Of course now she's talking about getting her Masters in Special Education so she can get a resource room. All I know is I'll be done in May, and I deserve a trip considering I'm the first of my generation in my family to accomplish the feat. Actually many of my mom's siblings just started back to school this Fall to get a degree, so I feel like I'm ahead of the curve.

About the planning... I've fallen to the too much planning bug as well... I just want to be able to fit everything in... Since I'm going 10 days, I'm sure I'll be able to fit everything in, but I don't want to leave that to chance.
However, I really only have one ADR a day planned, plus I'm basically planning on being in the park with the restaurant in it, or in the vicinity around that time. Also, I don't have anything scheduled too late, or too early, so there's some flexibility there. Also, I have one day where we have an ADR to 1900 Park Fare in the evening, but I'm not really planning on being in the MK that day, maybe after since it's EMH, but not before.

Awww how awesome!! ANOTHER SOLO TRAVELER:hug:

I too have left open ended evenings where I can go either here or there!! And I definitely left room for breakfast and lunch options. My biggest isssue is that I keep reading all these great TRs and PTRs and then I get excited about trying something and then I tell myself I have to rethink my entire plan..my poor printer isn't going to survive this trip LOL!!!

I stopped printing stuff out, because with the airline changes, and my own indecisiveness I don't have the money for the ink.

Yea! I've danced my whole life and I don't know what I would do if I couldn't dance.

I am a Star Wars lover as well. I grew up watching the movies and acting them out with my friends. My younger sister was in elem. school when they re-released the movies and she was addicted to them! I sure love those Ewoks(sp) too!

I took dance classes on and off when I was younger. I just think a dance class would be something I could enjoy, and wouldn't have a lot of reading.

OK snowbirds STUPID QUESTION OF THE DAY!!!!!!

Well, not so much stupid but strange, and it shows my planner OCD!

Anyway, I keep hearing how amazing Everst is at night and how it makes it a different experience.
Can someone tell me about what time they would expect it to be fully dark in WDW during jan?

I would love to try and sneak in a quick trip to AK to get on this if it will be dark around 5pm, which it usually is here in NY. Now I wouldn't expect it to be much different, but as it's further south I thought I'd inquire!

Thanks for your help!

Somebody already said so... but between 5:30 and 6
EE at night does sound fun, but I don't know if I'll be able to squeeze it in. It depends on how the other parks go on the evening EMH days.

Ok speaking of planning OCD...I found this site

http://www.sunrisesunset.com/custom_srss_calendar.asp

that tells you the exact times that the sun rises and sets :lmao:

I know it is very sad, I must get a life :)

It's not sad.... I think I found the same site a couple days ago when I was figuring out the sunset time for Jan 4th, because I want to see the Osbourne Dancing lights, which means nighttime is required.

That's kind of what I was thinking, when it would be open until 8 it would probably be peak season and it would still be daylight out. :confused3 It must be pretty rare to be able to do it.

That's probably why people love it so much...it's rare.

OK... I thought I'd share the depth of my Disney obsession. In my Bureaucracy in Modern Society class we have a paper. (shock shock...it's a sociology class we research and write stuff) Anyways, the teacher gave us a list of things that indicate a bureaucracy: lines, uniforms, hierarchy etc etc. So, what comes into my Disney OCD mind? "Walt Disney World is a bureaucracy!!!"
Needless to say, instead of coming up with something to completely different than Disney, in order to combat my Disney addiction, I am attempting to find at least 15 sources for a Bibliography that talk about the Disney Company as a bureaucracy. My teacher told me he thought it would be hard, but I pride myself on being an excellent researcher and thus far have found twelve sources. However, I would like to add that it's a Bibliography, not a Works Cited. If it was a Works Cited I probably wouldn't be able to find enough sources.

Now I am able to research the interworkings of the Disney Company for the sake of my education.

No offense- but "Bureaucracy in Modern Society" sounds like a yawn! :faint:
It's probably a good thing you are able to bring the fun of Disney into it to liven it up!:mickeyjum
