Afternoon everyone!!!

Shelly - your boys are absolutely adorable! They "look" like very nice boys! :thumbsup2

I see that your Ds is very much into Star Wars! My DD7 LIVES for the days we let her watch Star Wars! :woohoo: Whenever she has a freind over she asks them "do you like Star Wars, do you want to watch it? ?" :rotfl: So far most of her friends are not so interested! I guess my girls are a bit different than most kids their ages - they are not into High School Musical or Hannah Montanna AT ALL! Oh well, they are mine and I love them! Looks like your DS had a great birthday! :cool1:

That is too darn cute! I loved Star Wars too at her age! Though I was still into all the prissy girl stuff too lol! I use to make my grandma braid my hair and put it up in Princess Leia buns all the time!

Hey Becca!! I too went on a graduation trip YAY!!! I wish you the best of luck for your next two semesters!! Two trips in one year, how wonderful!! I'm hoping to go again in Dec. for Christmas!

I think I'm done making changes..I just moved them to a bit earlier in the day that way I could enjoy and get back out to enjoy the parks!! My biggest change was my 50's PTC from 5:30 to 4:55pm that day MK is doing an EMH Evening and a late Spectro and I might try to get over there for that!! We'll see that is the hardest part of going solo is that I can do whatever want but trying to decide beforehand what to do LOL!! I need to settle down the planner inside of me and allow some room for some spontaniety or I'm going to drive myself NUTS!!!:rotfl:

Afternoon All!!! It's naptime here... aaahhhhh the quiet! :cloud9:
I've got my cup of tea and my computer... right where I like to be! :surfweb:

Sharadoc: Thanks for the joke- I needed a giggle! :rotfl:

Peach3es: Glad Georgia is having such a fun day. Hopefully her package will come soon. At least it prolongs the birthday celebrating!!! As a Snowbird you know we are always looking for a reason to keep a party going! :yay:
I'm so glad your Na-na and uncle (and the rest of your family) are getting to see each other for the wedding. I know you miss them and are counting down the days til you get to the US again!

Soleil: So glad you are back and your hubby is doing well. Hope is recovery is fast!

Shelly: Love the bday pics! He looks so happy and surprised when he opened the cash! What a cool idea!

As a fellow solo traveler I know what you mean! Since this is my graduation trip I splurged for the Deluxe dinning! I'm trying not to plan every second of my time, buts its sooooo hard not too, especially with all of these great meals I have planned! Though, I feel like if I'm well planned, I won't freak out about being on my own at all since I'll know where I'm going and what I'm doing!
Besides, I scheduled in some spontaniety time :confused3 , which sounds stupid, but now I know I have a day to be spontanious! And if that means funnel cake & dole whip for breakfast, well than thats what I'm gonna do!!!!!

Well, I am happy as a clam! My mom borrowed someone's cell phone and managed to call us from Texas to wish Georgia Kate a happy birthday! Yes...Mom is one of the few who is living in the stone ages without a cell!:lmao: She was out helping the family get some last minute things for teh wedding, but she called. That made my day and it made Georgia Kate smile!:goodvibes

So, here are a few pictures to share! The first is a great shot of all 4 kids, smiling and (mostly) looking at the camera. These moments are rare. Getting 4 kids to cooperate for a picture requires some major skills. And I don't mean bow-staff skills or numchuck skills either (a la Napoleon Dynamite!). So, here are my little darlings:

And here is the monkey face candle blowing shot that I just have to get of every child, every birthday! I haven't missed it yet!

GK intensely opening a gift with supervision from her siblings:

And finally, showing off the little doll that her big sister bought for her (with 3 shekels worth of help from me! :rolleyes1 )!

Party on, Peeps!party:

Awww how awesome!! ANOTHER SOLO TRAVELER:hug:

I too have left open ended evenings where I can go either here or there!! And I definitely left room for breakfast and lunch options. My biggest isssue is that I keep reading all these great TRs and PTRs and then I get excited about trying something and then I tell myself I have to rethink my entire plan..my poor printer isn't going to survive this trip LOL!!!

peach3es- You have a beautiful family! Glad you got to talk with you mom! :cloud9: Oh and the cupcake cones look delicious!

Peaches, You little ones are just darling! It looks like Georgia Kate had a great day!

:woohoo: Yay for the SOLOs!!!!
I know what you mean! My friends just got back and after their review of Yak & Yeti I'm reworking 2 days to fit it in! I think the plan is better now anyways, but I say that after every redo of the plan!

You've inspired me, and I'm considering enrolling in a dance class for the spring semester.

Yea! I've danced my whole life and I don't know what I would do if I couldn't dance.

I LOVE all the pictures of the kiddos on their birthdays! What beautiful families you Snowbirds have! My DD's 6th birthday is Wednesday! Oh my goodness. How did she grow up so fast??

I am a Star Wars lover as well. I grew up watching the movies and acting them out with my friends. My younger sister was in elem. school when they re-released the movies and she was addicted to them! I sure love those Ewoks(sp) too!

Thank you! :goodvibes They are very nice boys (most of the time! :rotfl: ).

Star Wars is their big thing right now. They LOVE it!! That's so funny that your DD likes Star Wars! Some of the boys friends that are girls like it too. Some of them can kick the boys butts in a lightsaber duel!! :lmao:

Don't forget to take your girls to the Jedi Training Academy at DHS! DS9 got chosen to participate in May - it was his dream come true :cloud9: ! We're hoping DS7 will get chosen in January! :wizard:

My DD's both love whacking their Dad with foam swords! I probably have some pics I could share but not right now! We are definitely going to do the Star Wars academy! Dh was very upset when he found out he was too old for it! :rotfl2:

Awwwww...I love that!! I was one of those little girls who would easily trade in a tea party for Ewocs LOL!! I was a huge Star Wars fan growing up and as I have aged I have become more of a Lord of the Rings fan LOL!!! But I still love me some Ewoks!!

DH just started reading The Hobbit to DD7! They just finished reading The Whole Narnis series! She loved it! She is also totally into NArnia - loves the movies and wants to be Lucy Pevensie for Halloween!

Afternoon everyone!!!

She is not so much a girly girl, hates having her hair brushed and prefers jeans and tshirts to a dress! She can almost always be found curled up on the couch with a book!

I need to settle down the planner inside of me and allow some room for some spontaniety or I'm going to drive myself NUTS!!!:rotfl:

:drive: :crazy2: :rotfl2:

OK snowbirds STUPID QUESTION OF THE DAY!!!!!!

Well, not so much stupid but strange, and it shows my planner OCD!

Anyway, I keep hearing how amazing Everst is at night and how it makes it a different experience.
Can someone tell me about what time they would expect it to be fully dark in WDW during jan?

I would love to try and sneak in a quick trip to AK to get on this if it will be dark around 5pm, which it usually is here in NY. Now I wouldn't expect it to be much different, but as it's further south I thought I'd inquire!

Thanks for your help!

Well snowbirds I must be away for a bit! Gotta go pick up DD7 from scholl and return DD5's friend! Hope you all have a great afternoon and evening! I shalll try to drop in later! :grouphug:

Well Florida is a lot further south so we do get dark early but nearly as early as many of the northern states...I would assume 5:00 would be dusk with it dark about 5:30 to 6:00

Chatty Kathy's you all are........10 pages to catch up on........

QUOTE=Kazooie01;28039967]We had roughly the same flight last year and our flight was cancelled (for the first time in all our January trips!) due to high winds/snow. We ended up driving to Binghamton because the weather wasn't as bad. We do wind pants, sneakers and a light coat with shorts and t-shirts underneath. That way it's pretty easy to take of the layers. It's always an adventure flying out of Syracuse in January.:thumbsup2[/QUOTE]

Say it isn't so......... when did they cancel your flight:scared1: I have not back up plan..... OMG... I am so stressed now........

Well Snowbirds, I will be back later! A friend is coming over for coffee in a few! She's bringing the coffee! TIM HORTON'S :woohoo: :woohoo: Some peeps in Michigan and OHIO might know about Timmy's! :goodvibes Catch ya later! :)

I love TIMMYHO's.... we are just starting to get them in Central NY.... not for the coffee... I still prefer Dunkin DOnuts coffee but I love their peanut stick donuts.............yummy..........

Morning Snowbirds:goodvibes How come some of the tickers move faster than others? Mine is not catching up!!!

Well, more school today and of course, more:laundy: I did about 5 loads yesterday-so I have about 1 million to do today!! The weather here yesterday was beautiful!! Today too--only the high is still in the upper 80s!!! I am envious of all you 'north' people getting out those jackets and long sleeves!!! I am really hoping that down here we get a real fall and a true winter!!! I am so sick of humidity and hot. Lord, we don't get enough of the good stuff. And snow---a real snow----never seen one:sad2: It's really pitiful!!

Well, ya'll have a great day and I'll check back in a while!!

I am going to look for a normal snow photo from Northern NY for you.... last year we had an exchange student from Chili living with us..... she thought she was going to "die".... how do you get thru it.... she kept asking....

:cutie: Guess who's back?!?!:cutie:
I'm not even going to attempt to catch up! My goodness you guys have been chatty. We will be in Snowbirds #3 before Halloween.

Welcome back Soleil..... I got an email today and thought of you... my DD and DS did the Disney Magic Music Days last year with their band... not sure if that is why I got the email... it was for Disney Magic Music Days Alumni Search.... they want to know about where folks are that formally performed in a Magic Music Day event.....

Wow... we have riden this ride many times and I can't see where it would make a difference if it is light or dark.... actually when it is light out you can see for miles........... it is so cool because you can see all the way to Epcot....

Shelly...........must have missed clicking on the photos of your birthday boy.... what nice photos of all of you.......... at first I thought you were one of the kids..... oh to be young again...............:rotfl:

Thank's Jen, that's what I was thinking! Doesn't look like a dark EE ride will hapen this time, but that's just another reason for a Dec 09 trip!

Ok speaking of planning OCD...I found this site

http://www.sunrisesunset.com/custom_srss_calendar.asp

that tells you the exact times that the sun rises and sets :lmao:

I know it is very sad, I must get a life :)

How are people riding EE in the dark? Doesn't AK generally close at 5 or 6 most of the time? I was under the impression that AK closed before dark because of the animals, I think I read that somewhere.

Well there is EMH, which most of the year should bring it into the early hour or two of darkness, and there have been a few special events where it was open after dark.
I've heard them talk about how the ride is much more exciting and looks cooler at night on several podcasts, and I love riding rides at night so I really want to give this a try.
It's not something that can be done on a regular basis though, which I think is added appeal.

Thanks for that website, it's so cool!
