Hey Becca!! I too went on a graduation trip YAY!!! I wish you the best of luck for your next two semesters!! Two trips in one year, how wonderful!! I'm hoping to go again in Dec. for Christmas!
I think I'm done making changes..I just moved them to a bit earlier in the day that way I could enjoy and get back out to enjoy the parks!! My biggest change was my 50's PTC from 5:30 to 4:55pm that day MK is doing an EMH Evening and a late Spectro and I might try to get over there for that!! We'll see that is the hardest part of going solo is that I can do whatever want but trying to decide beforehand what to do LOL!! I need to settle down the planner inside of me and allow some room for some spontaniety or I'm going to drive myself NUTS!!!
I had the brilliant idea of a graduation trip when I realized my mom and I would be graduating at the same time...it's not going to be like that anymore, but the idea stuck. She's getting her teaching certification, and I'm getting my Bachelor's. However, she took a few terms off, so she's not doing her student teaching until NEXT fall, which means she won't technically be done. Of course now she's talking about getting her Masters in Special Education so she can get a resource room. All I know is I'll be done in May, and I deserve a trip considering I'm the first of my generation in my family to accomplish the feat. Actually many of my mom's siblings just started back to school this Fall to get a degree, so I feel like I'm ahead of the curve.
About the planning... I've fallen to the too much planning bug as well... I just want to be able to fit everything in... Since I'm going 10 days, I'm sure I'll be able to fit everything in, but I don't want to leave that to chance.
However, I really only have one ADR a day planned, plus I'm basically planning on being in the park with the restaurant in it, or in the vicinity around that time. Also, I don't have anything scheduled too late, or too early, so there's some flexibility there. Also, I have one day where we have an ADR to 1900 Park Fare in the evening, but I'm not really planning on being in the MK that day, maybe after since it's EMH, but not before.
Awww how awesome!! ANOTHER SOLO TRAVELER
I too have left open ended evenings where I can go either here or there!! And I definitely left room for breakfast and lunch options. My biggest isssue is that I keep reading all these great TRs and PTRs and then I get excited about trying something and then I tell myself I have to rethink my entire plan..my poor printer isn't going to survive this trip LOL!!!
I stopped printing stuff out, because with the airline changes, and my own indecisiveness I don't have the money for the ink.
Yea! I've danced my whole life and I don't know what I would do if I couldn't dance.
I am a Star Wars lover as well. I grew up watching the movies and acting them out with my friends. My younger sister was in elem. school when they re-released the movies and she was addicted to them! I sure love those Ewoks(sp) too!
I took dance classes on and off when I was younger. I just think a dance class would be something I could enjoy, and wouldn't have a lot of reading.
OK snowbirds STUPID QUESTION OF THE DAY!!!!!!
Well, not so much stupid but strange, and it shows my planner OCD!
Anyway, I keep hearing how amazing Everst is at night and how it makes it a different experience.
Can someone tell me about what time they would expect it to be fully dark in WDW during jan?
I would love to try and sneak in a quick trip to AK to get on this if it will be dark around 5pm, which it usually is here in NY. Now I wouldn't expect it to be much different, but as it's further south I thought I'd inquire!
Thanks for your help!
Somebody already said so... but between 5:30 and 6
EE at night does sound fun, but I don't know if I'll be able to squeeze it in. It depends on how the other parks go on the evening EMH days.
Ok speaking of planning OCD...I found this site
http://www.sunrisesunset.com/custom_srss_calendar.asp
that tells you the exact times that the sun rises and sets
I know it is very sad, I must get a life
It's not sad.... I think I found the same site a couple days ago when I was figuring out the sunset time for Jan 4th, because I want to see the Osbourne Dancing lights, which means nighttime is required.
That's kind of what I was thinking, when it would be open until 8 it would probably be peak season and it would still be daylight out.
It must be pretty rare to be able to do it.
That's probably why people love it so much...it's rare.
