My favorite Disney movie??? That's a tough one. I like them all! Oh except for that Wall E movie this summer. I am sorry to say I thought that was the dumbest movie ever. The kids were even disappointed.

Wall-E seems to be the most hit or miss movie Pixar has ever made. People love it or hate it, not much in between. (Surprisingly) The film critics made it one of the best reviewed movies of the year.

In our case, we loved it. It probably had one of the most "deep" and "adult" messages of any Disney movie. And our children.... they hear "Waaal-E" or "Eeev-a" and they lose it. How Pixar can make children fall in love with robots is amazing. I guess that little robot is pretty adorable:goodvibes.

Disney makes movies that appeal to everyone on one level or another. I think that’s part of the reason we all love them!:thumbsup2

Here are some pics of me and my family:

I love this picture of my son, this was when he was 1 1/2.

MAGGIED, do you mind if I "borrowed" your snowbird? I really needed a new avatar :)

I also loved the original "Parent Trap" movie! Never saw the remake. I like the part where they're camping with dad's girlfriend and convince her to bang sticks together to scare away the mountain lions :rotfl:

Also count me among the fans of "The Sound of Music". We had such a good time when we visited Salzburg and saw so much of the scenery. There are actually guided tours you can take, but we just did it ourselves.

I've been thinking about favorite Disney movies. popcorn:: I was a kid in the 70s, before VCRs even :scared1: , and it was a big deal when Disney would re-release one of the animated classics in the theater. Not like nowadays when you can watch them whenever you want! At that time they were making very few new animated films, but I seem to remember a LOT of live-action ones. "The Apple Dumpling Gang" was a favorite, as was "Escape to Witch Mountain". I haven't seen either of those in 30 years, so I'm not sure if they're still as good as I remember! I also remember "No Deposit, No Return" and, I think, one called "One of our Dinosaurs Is Missing". Does anyone remember these? Or am I just nuts?

Very cute pictures! We've been to the Strasburg RR Thomas thing too! Lots of fun!! I miss the Thomas days. The kids are about done with it now. DS6 still has a Thomas themed bedroom, but I am redoing that here probably within the next month or so. They do still play with their Thomas trains (and we have a ton) in the basement from time to time, but would never admit that! :rotfl:

Ethansmommy~Love your pictures!! What a cute little guy!!

Bella~ poor you!! Motherhood:ain't she grand!!!! I do wish I had one more baby to puke or pee on me!!! I miss mine being tiny!!! I too am a HUGE Haley Mills fan. I bet you I have seen Parent Trap AT LEAST 200 times. No kidding!! Summer Magic, Pollyanna, the Castaways, Moon Spinners, That Darn Cat... I am a tad obsessed with her. Same with Julie Andrews. Is she not the most beautiful thing? I have her book "Home" about her early life--Ya'll should read it. Have you seen her in 'Thoroghly Modern Millie"? It has Mary Tyler Moore and Carol Channing? It's hysterical. My kids love it--there are a few things that are over there heads--thank goodness.

Okay, Disney fave: ALL the cartoons!! Really, I like Cinderella, Snow White, Peter Pan, Robin Hood, Aristocats,Dumbo, Bambi, Sleeping Beauty. I feel tremendous guilt: I know someone is going to get left out!! AAARRRGGHH I hate playing favorites:laughing: Okay see, I just remembered that I left out Pinnocchio!! This is excruciating!!!!

Okay! I am all caught up now! Phew, we are all a little chatty! ;)

Shelly - I too need to clean out my fridge! Hopefully I will get to that tomorrow!

Sharadoc - I am in awe! :worship: You are my IDOL! I want to be like you!

QOTW - My very favourite Disney Movie (live action) as I already mentioned is The Parent Trap (the original - no remakes allowed!) and my favourite cartoon is The Jungle Book! "Woohoo hoo, I wanna be like you hoo hoo, I wanna walk like you, talk like you too ooo......."

To be completely honest, I am a MUSICAL junkie! I love all Musicals - my absolute all time favourite movie ever made is .....GREASE! My current fave is MAmma Mia! Only saw the movie once, haven't seen the stage show yet (hoping to go to Duluth to see it in MArch) but I own the soundtrack and listen to it at least 5x a week! We are huge ABBA fans in this house!

From Central New York, in WDW in January, I'm sensing a pattern here. I wish your photo was a bit bigger, I could see if we were walking around in the background.;)

The Sound of Music is my all-time favorite movie. I remember watching it and thinking, "One day I will be as old as Gretl." (When they are going down the line telling their ages and she holds up 5 fingers.) My favorite scene will always be the puppet scene and I know all of the coreography. DH gets so annoyed when it comes on TV and I insist on standing up and singing and dancing to 'So Long, Farewell'.

Oh, I'll be singing the soundtrack all day long now! :rotfl:

And I'm not complaining!

Hello snowbirds, I am thinking of trying the new T-Rex restaurant in january and was wondering if anyone has seen a menu or know's what the food will be like??
QOTD: My favorite disney movie is Meet the Robinsons, my sons is Peter Pan (he is really into pirates right now).

ethansmommy.... I see you are from CNY... me too!!!! just across the border into Oswego County:wave2:

I love the parts of the choreography when they look like they are kicking them out of the line..and the I flit I float..I fleeting flee and fly...and they act like butterflies!! Awwww..well I know what movie will be on while I scrapbook tonight! LOL!!! Oh and when they act like cuckoo clocks...oh I just love that movie period. And I loved her wedding dress with the ivy laurel on her head...she was simply stunning!

Big Musical fan I performed in two of them in high school Bye Bye Birdie and Hello Dolly. I adore Phantom of the Opera (saw it on stage and knew what to be transfixed meant). Right now my musical obsession is Wicked..I want to see that on stage so bad.

Thank you, he actually just got into thomas a few months back and only has a few of the take along trains and he cant get enough...before the thomas trains he was playing with the geotrax ones (which I like better but Im not the one playing with them) and he has a ton of those that he doesnt even play with anymore. The day we went to the Thomas thing it was soooo hot!! I think it was in the 90's that day and very humid (thats why I have my hat on). It was funny because we had just gotten back from disney the weekend before and my husband said it was hotter in PA then it was in FL.

Ethansmommy~Love your pictures!! What a cute little guy!!

Thank you!

There are a bunch of Jewish Holidays next week (sorry I don't know which ones, don't mean to be offensive to anyone!) so my school & office are closed since we are city run. :dance3:
That means I'm off Mon, Tues & Wed!!!!!! :jumping1:

It'S Rosh Hashana (forgive the spelling!), the Jewish New Year, Monday sundown to Tuesday sundown. Then 9 days later it is the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur, the day of atonement.

Next Tuesday (or possibly Wednesday, depending on the sighting of the moon) is the first day of the Eid Il Fitr, or the feast celebrated at the end of the Muslim month of Ramadan.

My kids don't have school for 3-5 days next week, depending on when the Muslim holiday falls. They go to a Catholic run Arab school, but half the students are Muslim and half are Christian Arabs, so we get all the holidays off. Last year they had nearly an entire month off at CHristmas time because of the 2 celebrated Christmas' here (Latin and Orthodox) and because the Muslim Eid Il Adha fell at the same time. It was crazy!

And since we live and work in Israel proper, we are affected by the Jewish holidays as well. It's hard for me to keep up with everything. :rolleyes1

Hi everyone! I'm here. I had the worst morning ever today! Got stopped by a train (literally, it stopped) and was 40 minutes late to work. Then, I pull Belle out of the car and she is covered in diarrhea from her neck to the back of her knees. So I stripped her down and hosed her off right in front of the church. (Meanwhile, she is laughing and trying to run off as if this is the most fun game she's ever played.) After that I had to head back home and wash her car seat cover. AHHHH!!!!! I want to pull my hair out!:scared1:

But, I'm here..... hope everyone is having a better day than me.:confused3

NOOOOO! Please don't pull out that beautiful Hair! So sorry you had such a crummy morning, Soleil! I can totally remember so many times that happening to me with my girls! Nasty! Hope the rest of your day is better! :)

I think most New Yorkers have to escape the winter at some point, it just gets to be too much!!

ethansmommy.... I see you are from CNY... me too!!!! just across the border into Oswego County:wave2:

We are in Oswego County. :wave2:

Oooh..bad manager:mad:

I Heart Julie Andrews!!! Between Mary Poppins and my all time favorite non-Disney movie Sound of Music...oh she is so wonderful! I would love to meet her too. Sound of Music is the one movie I'll watch on TV even though I own the collectors version of the DVD without commerical. My favorite scene is when they do the Ländler during the ballroom scene, the emotion that was expressed in that one dance still gives me goosebumps!!

OMG I swear you are all my Disney mental soulmates!!

Can't you just here the hills singing.............the hills are alive.......with the sound of music...ooooooooooo... with songs they have sung ........ :dance3: thank goodness you can't hear me sing it...:scared1: I love Sound of Music (I love when they are all on the bed singing.,.... these are few of my favorite things.........:dance3: still scary singing here....:scared1: and my other all time fav is Pride and Predjuice.... I could watch it over and over again.... it seems to be on Masterpiece Theater alot and so I usually get to see it once a month....:woohoo:

Seems fairly quiet here right now! I'm off to surf the OTHER BOARDS for a while! :goodvibes I know, I know, some of you are saying "other boards, what other boards? :confused3 " See you later! :)

Another huge musical fan here! Obsessed comes to mind!:rotfl: I've seen lots of musicals in NYC and I've loved every single one!

I got to perform in a few in high school including having the lead role in Fiddler on the Roof. And, as a Christmas gift my sister and I told my mom she could pick any Broadway musical she wanted to see and we'd pay. She chose Greese, so my girlfriend and I took her to see Grease. At the beginning they did a dance off contest and told people they could come up and dance in the contest. They made it seem like an oldie TV show. I ran up there so fast. I thought, "I may never get another chance in my life to dance on a Broadway stage!" I shook my groove thing to Rockin' Robin. It was a BLAST!

I got to see Jane Eyre the musical and I'm pretty obsessed with that one! Love the music and the show was fabulous!

I really enjoy the older musicals too: Damn Yankees, Guys and Dolls, South Pacific, Fiddler, Bells are Ringing...love 'em!:thumbsup2

Peaches- Did you ever play a role in Grease in High School.

I did. Guess which character I was?

You will get a kick out of the answer.

Oh my gosh!! I love P&P!!! I loooooove the one with Hugh Grant, Kate Winslet, and Emma Thomson. Love it! I had it on VHS and then got it on cd when it came out. I cry buckets everytime I watch it!! Oh when Eleanor and Edward are at the end and he says'My heart is, and always has been....yours" I nearly faint!! And poor Eleanor is choking and sobbing and laughing...Ah Jane Austen!! The Queen of Literature!!
