nala87 you beat me to it!! was going to say the same thing!! I have lived here for 10 years now & I stilll can't pronounce Oconomawac (or spell it).![]()
Doesn't everyone plan their Halloween costumes around winter coats?Corwin is wearing his Jedi robe from DHS this year I will make him the pants & tunic from the original movie & he can be Luke. very easy to layer that costume. Morgan is going to wear my old Princess Leia costume the white dress way too big on her but she can wear her coat under it then i will just hem it up.
So, stupid NWA just changed my flight, so instead on arriving in MCO at 4:30 we won't be landing until 6:30and I really want to see the osborne lights before they come down the next day. They better not make it any later or cancel all together.

Hello fellow Disney obsessee's!! We are getting ready to EVACUATE!! Well, as many of you remember from Gustav-our area was also under manditory evac--we stayed & were so glad-we got about 5 minutes of light showers the second evening. But, Ike is coming in closer to Galveston,so all counties south of us are manditory-ours is still up in the air. But, even if we do leave (we will more than likely lose our power and it's still too hot here to be without it for days on end), we won't go until tomorrow--the highways are packed. It's crazy.
But-----Mike said today that he wished we hadn't cancelled our October trip and pushed back to January!!! he wants me to see about changing back to Oct.Not good for my planning-obsessive-self. AND right in the middle of all this evac!!!! So, I suggested we do go in Oct and get annual passes and keep our Jan plans.
Wouldn't that be awsome!!! Hopefully he'll tell me something QUICK!!! I gotta do this tonight before we lose computer-power tomorrow night---that's when it'll probably go. So...I'll let you all know what I find out. So,,,if after tomorrow you don't here from me for a while- it's because we have no power. But, I 'll try to find a way!! Dh will probably bring his laptop, so I'll try to keep chattin'!! This hurricane thing is starting to rattle me!!! Mercy! Several of our gas stations are already empty. Have been since before lunch and they just called for the Man. Evac at 6 this morning. aaaarrrggghhh!!! Say a little prayer for us!
And for all my Texas friends---ya'll stay safe and drive carefully!!
First and foremost - prayers for you in the midst of all of this Hurricane madness. Hopefully it will fizzle out and everything will be okay.
Secondly.... you can't leave the Snowbirds!!!! Tell your husband that my vote is for October and January. Tell him BellaSoleil said so!![]()
I'm from PA too, and I can testify that all the aformentioned generalizations about our lovely state are true! (I haven't triesd quoting anything yet...)
Anyway, I'm going January 6-12. One thing that will be weird going in January is that it will get dark so early! The firework shows are really early and the sun sets at 5:30, something odd to someone who usually goes to WDW in September. Can anyone give me some insite or comments on this?

WOW another PA Snowbird! What part of the state are you from? We must have at least a dozen Snowbirds from PA!![]()
I too think it will be weird when it gets dark at WDW so early. We have always gone in Oct or May and the fireworks have been at 9 or 10. It will be weird when they are at 7! I am really looking forward to the cooler temps though!![]()
Okay, I'll try this quote thing and see if it turns out right...
I'm from a Philly suburb and I get plenty of snow here. I'm not sure about the cooler temps... I usually like it hot out and I don't like the idea that I might have to wear a sweatshirt, but I think the lower humidity and amount of rain will be quite enjoyable!

So... I will keep you guys posted!! I am not going anywhere til tomorrow, but I sure am thankful that God has sent me all of you to turn to and KNOW that I can talk to you about this stress-y stuff, Disney, homeschooling, and the Lord!!! Ya'll have truly been a blessing to me and I am soooo very thankfulMy circle of (intimate) friends has always been smallish--not many people agree with lots of our life-decisions (church/religion, ALL our Dis trips cause flak, and homeschooling
that really pushed a lot of people away), so finding you has been something I really needed. Girls just HAVE to talk about it. What ever 'it' is and ya'll are great!!! So, just wanted to let ya'll know, that you are appreciated by me--if no one else
and you make my day--usually several times a day!! Blessings!!
Hopefully I can check in sometime this evening and in the morning before it gets hairyHa! Ha!!
Best wishes from here, too DM.
You know, your comments really made me sad, especially in this current time of presidential politics. America was founded on the idea that ALL walks of life are equal and no one should be judged by a fellow human as to their choices, especially religion or way of life. How sad that folks feel they have the right to pass judgement on your personal choices for you and your family. I have felt some of the same things because I have a disabled child - people don't want to deal with someone or something different from what they think is the "right" or "perfect" way of living. Sadly, we are now dealing with separation rather than togetherness in this country.
I probably speak for a lot of us that we're glad that you can feel like you have real friends here - I know I feel that way too. I think if I get to meet any of you in person, I'll probably get all weepy![]()
Keep us posted and we'll keep you in our thoughts.![]()
