Has anyone ever used Magical Journeys???
I have booked with them and they have told me if any discounts come out they will apply them to my room. Has anyone ever had them NOT apply it??
I look EVERYDAY to see if any discounts are out there, because I am afraid I will miss something. Are they pretty good at looking for ALL discounts?

I have used Magical Journeys, they are right on top of it. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I agree about using Magical Journeys. My agent always e-mails me that she has converted my reservation before I have even seen the deal posted on most of the popular internet sites....

If you would be joining just for WDW it would not be worth it staying at a Value. The Jan special will also include a room discount that will be just about the same as AAA anyway.

Most times my AAA code has been better than the specials that are posted - sometimes not. I joined AAA because we do alot of traveling & I use it at other hotels, not just at WDW. Also love the roadside service.........it pays for itself in almost one incident. DD is in college & on the road all the time so AAA protection is great for that too. JMHO.............

I joined AAA last year just to get the Disney discount. I paid around $45 to join. We booked 5 nights at the Pop Century with 3 adults, and I saved 20%, around $90. We ended up going earlier and staying 2 nights at one of the Downtown Disney hotels, who also gave me a AAA discount. It was well worth my $45. As far as I know, there were no room-only discounts at the time. We didn't need a package, because we already had days on our passes from the year before.

I did get a different person helping me, and she seems very on top of stuff!!

Thanks for the info regarding room only rates.

One more question -- why would I want to book the room only? How do you get park tickets at a better rate? I thought I would book the room with tickets ... no?

I already know I can get airline tickets for a better price than my TA. Allegiant has great rates -- goes to Sanford, but we want to rent a car anyway, so it works out for the best ... and it's a direct flight, which is priceless.

Can you turn room only ressies over to DU? Is there a charge for that? Their main purpose would be to notify me of any better deals that we would be eligible for, right?

We don't have firm plans for this vacation yet .... I'm at the research stage where I am trying to convince DH that we need to go again. We were there in 4/07 and our DS9 was sick the entire time. I am convinced we need a do-over, DH is not -- so I have an uphill battle. Every penny I can save puts me an inch closer to WDW. DH seems to think we need to visit his family in MA, I think we need to do both.

I booked a room only ressie with DU, and bought my tickets through UT through the Mousesavers Newsletter. The newsletter is free and comes out on the 15th of every month. They ship the tickets to you for free, and they are cheaper than anywhere else I have seen. Booking my room and my tickets separately saved me a little over $50 for me and my daughter. Not much, but it will pay for our Character Breakfast, and some snacks. Also, I don't have to pay the balance until I check in. If you get a package, you have to pay 45 days in advance, which would be close to Christmas time.

Also, my DU TA said she would be on top of any discounts that came out, and would inform me if I got them or not. That saves me from having to be tied to the phone or computer trying to get it myself.

According to disneyworld.com, the Pirates and Princess parties will be coming again in 2008. A partial list of dates: January 21, 26; February 2, 9, 14, 22; March 1, 6, 11, 14. NOTE: These dates are tentative -- a full list of party dates will be announced soon

here's hoping this is true..we get off the Magic and are spending the weekend at WDW. It would be awesome if the party is held that Saturday!!! Its also our anniversary and we were kinda bummed the park was closing at 7.

Debbie from Magical Journeys is awesome!! I booked with her twice. Both times she applied a discount ASAP. She even changed my reservation many times for me, which I very much appreciated. She also had an AP code applied and when something better came out she had my reservation changed to a new code to save me more money!! That e-mail was such a nice surprise!! So I definitely wouldn't sweat looking for the code. Chances are, you'll get the e-mail before you even know the code is out.

Can I ask where you got those dates? We have all been speculating on another thread and I'm just curious where you got those tentative dates. Thanks!

I just hope the dates are released before a code. I'm only taking a mini-trip IF the party is going on and I don't want the code to be released and then miss it while waiting for the dates to come out! That probably means they need to be released tomorrow since the code will probably be released in the next week or two!

I looked on the website and didn't see any dates listed. Where are you seeing this?

AAA would only be 15% off at deluxe resorts in January.......So the PIN would be better if you can get it.....
