Good news - I got a postcard w/ a Pin code for a package for 1/1/08 which is exactly when we're going. Bad news - although it was sent to my address, it had someone elses name on it, therefore Disney told me I cannot use it. I'm more disappointed now than I would have been if I hadn't received anything at all.

Just curious, did you get the code in an email? and from who?

Yes, I received it in an email and the email was titled Disney Destinations. That was the very first pin code I ever received in email or paper mail.

WDInfo is posting the following rate codes for travel in January 2008. I just used ZWE and saved $1100, and added water parks and fun and more! Great deal!

Ok, I don't usually need to worry about discounts & such since we normally use our DVC points for ressies, but we're tentatively planning on heading down in January and getting a cash room. A few quickies for the pros here. One, are there any room only discounts yet for 1/08 in deluxe or mods? And if so, what are the specs? Two, what is the current AAA discount for 1/08 for deluxe & mods?

PS Mainly looking at WL or POFQ. Would love BC too, but looks like they're booked except for the Villas.

I may have found my answer. Looks like Jan is Value Season & AAA gives 15% for Deluxe & 20% for Mods? Correct? As far as the room only codes, looks like the current ones through Dec '07 had to have ressies made by 10/20 & the new codes haven't been released yet. Sound right on all counts?

I've already booked and paid for our January trip in full (a few weeks ago), do you think I could call and use this code for that trip?

I am not sure that the poster is legit. Look, only 2 posts. And there is no official word on any codes that will save that much for Jan.

However, if you do find a code, yes you can still apply that to your current reservation and receive a refund. Countdown is on!

I tried tonight to find out about AP rates for January on Mods & Deluxe & the CRO told me that AP discount rates haven't been released yet. AAA has good rates on their website for January, but I want to see what Disney does before booking. Keeping my fingers crossed for a good discount as I'd love just once to stay at WL.

Matt - it's been awhile now since I called, but I was able to find a DVC member discount at VWL for our ressie in January. Did you call DVC member services to see if they have any cash discounts avail. for your date(s)?! If they have anything avail. for cash at any of the DVC resorts it would be 25% off the rack rate! I am lurking on this board tho just in case they announce an AP discount rate which would probably beat the DVC rate (also made a ressie at PORFQ just in case)!

I'm looking for a Jan. room only code too, but if the discount is good enough on a package, I'll book that. My dates are not flexible...Jan. 6 thru 9.

Thanks Annie. I totally forgot about that option. Question, we currently have our DVC st SSR up for sale at the Timeshare place. Since it's up for sale, are we still able to take advantage of DVC perks like the room discounts since we technically still own it?

Hummm...good question...I don't know how that works! I'd probably ask that one over on the DVC boards and see what they say (or call DVC MS and ask them directly!).

Ok, I have a question on packages. Do both people in the room have to get tickets? We are not doing the dining plan. I have a room only right now and I need tickets but my BF does not. I would love the free park hopping if a public code gets announced.

Maybe you all could get 1 day tickets. Then he'd save his and later put that ticket's value toward a future purchase of another AP. You can increase the days on your ticket once you arrive.
