January 2008 Code Watch

I would wait until the general public code comes out to change your reservation. They can pull up your room only booking and then see if there is a package discount available for your dates. That way-you know what's available before you cancel your room only. They will have to refund your one night deposit though and charge you a 200.00 package deposit. You should be fine-there still seems to be availabilty at the Pop and almost all of the moderates. Good luck!

Found another thread that said you can use the visa code for general public so I just called and asked if I was able to use ZXF code and they said YES!

I stated that I did not have a disney Visa and she said there was a 3 day block on that code for disney visa card holders only and that is now finished and it is opened to the general public.

I called my friend and she tried and they said NO, I then called back to double check and she said that it is definitely available to the general public.

I saved $450 :banana: :banana: :banana:

I got the same thing this morning. I've never had a pin code, so I was disappointed, but on the other hand I'm not planning a trip until maybe later next year, so a pin code now wouldn't have done me any good. C'est la vie.

ETA: And I just noticed - THIS WAS MY 1,000 POST!

Question (Sorry) My parents, boyfriend, and I have reservations for POP Jan 7-12. My parents booked the room and aparently did NOT go ahead and make it a MYW package. My BF has AAA so we called and used that discount which saved us Approx. $100 FOR 4night/5days.
Should I go ahead and call and change our reservations to a MYW package (add 4 adult 5day base tickets).
Will AAA save us money on tickets too?
Should I just wait for the Public Code to come out and apply it (if I can)? (We've never done DDP b/c we can budget ourselves to $30 each per day. And Park Hoppers have always been an added expence.)
Thanks

Sorry to Bug anyone but does anyone have any ideas?:confused3

THanks fo your time

I am sure this has been asked before, but I cannot find it - but how do you get on the Disney Destinations email list?

Thanks in advance.

I have been reading everyone's updates about the new free upgrade to water parks and more tickets. It appears that there is also a slight room discount. Does anyone know if this discount will be applied to the family suites at ASMu?

It's your lucky day, but sadly, not mine. I was told "no January codes" for regular people like me. Ah well, I'll try again but I'm not too hopeful since we are at WL 1/1-1/6. I need separate beds for my ds13 (who is 5'8" and growing daily) and ds10, also tall for his age. I don't feel we can gamble on the POR trundle being available and comfortable and ASMu Family Suites haven't been available.

Also called to add an ADR and apparently Grumpy has been pressed in to service at DDining today.:lmao:

AP rates are out this morning for January...but, be careful and double check your pricing if you already have AAA discount applied. The AP discount did NOT beat the price I already have with AAA. My total price using AP rate was $300 MORE! :confused3

Mousesaver.com has the new AP code for January! Just got Saratoga Springs studio for $149 a night.:cool1: The CM told me they just got them this morning. She was surprised I knew about them already.

Just called CR and received an AP discount for our reservation in January. Thanks to all for looking and waiting.:goodvibes :cool1:

Okay, so I am new to all this. We are going January 18-21st (and staying longer at a non disney resort the 21-24 for busines) Is this weekend part of the blackout period since it is a holiday weekend? :confused3

What is the AP code being referred to?

Thanks for your patience for a newby that just found out we are going a couple weeks ago.

AP = annual passholder rate.

Right now there is a discount available to Disney Visa cardholders, and it's looking pretty certain that the deal will be made available to the general public tomorrow. If the same dates apply to the general public code, you might be out of luck.

Travel Dates:

* 1/1/08 - 1/17/08
* 1/21/08 - 2/13/08
* 2/18/08 - 3/15/08

The AP rate is for Annual Pass holders.

DisneyDaughter5589 :
If you think you want a price for a AAA MYW package you will have to call your AAA office and have them price the package for you, Disney cannot price out AAA packages. Personally, I have found AAA agents are not too smart about Disney and I will never go through them again. But you could call and just see what the price is for comparison. I think you usually get a discounted room rate from AAA but the tickets are not usually discounted much. if at all.

I would also price out your tickets from a ticket broker and add them to your hotel rate. Then tomorrow, call Disney and ask them to price out the MYW package.

Now you can do a complete comparison and see which is the best way to go for you.

I currently have AAA room rates for Jan. and finding that they have been a better deal than either the MYW package or AP rates. So don't change your reservations until you do a complete comparison.

Good luck!

What if I get there the day BEFORE? I arrive on the 20th, and leave on the 26th. Can they apply part of the reservation? I'm a Disney Visa cardholder and I want a discount! *whines*

:scared:

Okay everyone AP discounts is out!!!:cool1:

My package with the visa is 1600.. if I booked room only with AP disc it would be 1023.00 plus the price of tickets. I think the Visa deal is better~~~~][/B]:cheer2:
