January 2008 Code Watch

One more question... what hapens if I book now. Then a code comes out? Can I apply it? Do they normaly limited it to only on certain resorts or certain room views? Thanks :) Tiffany

If a code comes out and you already have a confirmed reservation you can apply the code your ressie.

The answer to your 2nd question is yes. Disney offers discount codes- but they don't always offer them for every resort and every room type. It always pays off to keep calling if your room is not included the first time the discount is offered as they do add room types and resorts as the days into the code go by.

Thanks for your help. I just made my ressie for AKL savannah view...now hoping for code..lol The hard choice was view. I want the view.. but may go with standard just to save.

With codes if I i use one, did I read you can not add the DMP. I thought I read this from another post. Tiffany

Tiff- define what you mean by DMP please- then maybe I can answer!! LOL!

I think DMP=Disney Meal Plan
It's actually DDP=Disney Dining Plan :)

To answer the question, it seems recently they have been simultaneously coming out with a code to use for a Room Only reservation and a second code to use with the Magic Your Way packages, and a third for MYW+Dining. That's what I used for my May trip.

Opps. sorry I did mean ddp..lol thanks! With MYW+dinning that you used in May was that 40% off. Thanks for everyones help. I have so many questions... yet I have 9 months to ask them..lol. Tiffany

No, it was the set of codes that got 15% off values and 25% off moderates and deluxes. Somehow though, I ended up with around 35% off at WL. I didn't question it.... :thumbsup2

Subscribing! We just went this past MLK week and we're hoping to go the same time next year, or a week later. I know it's so far away, but I can't wait! Lol

anyone know what the crowds are like during this? We are looking for the LEAST crowded week in Jan or Feb and are flexible

The crowds during the marathon are not bad at all. There are lots of rooms taken because the runners stay at the park resorts, but the parks themsleves are very easy to navigate- and it's actually kinda cool watching the runners in the early am. Very insipring. My experience is that they are there to run- not ride rides. They pass through the parks in the marathon, and don't come back! I wouldn't hesitate to go during this week. If you want guaranteed non crowds- go the following week until mid February- there's no one there!

What are your thoughts on Jan 3-9th? I was worried since it's still kind of close to new years.

We'll actually be there during this time. Honestly, I'm kinda concerned myself about those dates this year because NYE is during the week- I'm not sure how crowded it will be. Unfortunately, this happens to be the only time my family can go due to college classes etc.

If I didn't have my kids classes to worry about- we'd be there the following week. No crowds that week for sure!

My husband attends school part time.. but also our Annivarsayr is Jan 4th. So this is why we are going then. I'm so excited. I just whick I can choose a resort. I'm booked for AKL. But may switch to WL or CR. I have a savannah view.. but hoping for discount code. TIffany

I am thinking about the week after NYE too, and am concerned about people not leaving on Jan 1 and staying the week.

Well folks, my plan for the first week of the NY is to make sure I'm at the parks as soon as they open and go to the parks (in the evenings) that are open late with EMH - afternoons will be spent at the resort. I think if we stick to taht plan we'll be able to do whatever we want and the crowds won;t be all that bad.

Good luck on your trips!

This was a concern of mine as well. We will be there 12/31-1/5 as a pre-cruise visit. This was the only time available as my DW is a teacher and she goes back to school 1/14.

And as was mentioned before, the weeks leading up to President's weekend is almost dead.
