Does anyone know what the rates with a code were last year? DF wants to pick a centrally located hotel (and I'm pushing for a deluxe), so I wanted to get a feel for what those prices were like. Thanks!

codes? discounts? i love it! I'm looking at January too, though I doubt I'll get much of a discount, I think I'l join AAA this year-
Thanks for the marathon dates, we'll avoid them!

I was thinking about about doing the same but will wait to see. I kind of have a good vibe that we may get a discount code. I'm just working off of a gut feeling though..lol. Also, thought about getting a disney reward card, to see if that increases the chances for codes.

This code (40% off)people keep talking about is it just off the room price or the package price?

When the codes do come out (thinking positive here) can someone post them and we all use them or only the peron who gets the code can use it.

It looks like codes normally come out in OCt/Nov. I'm sure many will post them here when they come out. I'm not sure how we learn about them... if its another website ,do we make phone calls to Disney, or will we get an email. Either way someone will post them here..lol

I check www.mousesavers.com every morning to see what is new. She always has the codes/deals posted as soon as they come out. I go to mousesavers and check the main page then head over to the disboards

ok,here i go with a dumb question... if I made room only ressies now,could I alter them in the future,if a code comes out?
Like, say I decide i want a room w/dining instead,b/c of a code, will it be easy to change? or is it better to just wait for a code?
does making a res. now ensure a room? what other reason would I have for reserving so early,instead of just waiting for codes?
Or, could I even just call later,and switch a room only res. to a room only res. w/ the new codes,and it'll be the same room?
you guys seem to know what you're waiting for,and what to do.... I don't! TIA

So we are planning to go Jan 5/6-11/12 2008 (we haven't decided how long because we are also going to spend some time at Universal Studios) and we were wondering if we would be at a serious disadvantage in terms of availability if we waited until the 2008 packages came out to make our reservations. I am slightly worried because we are leaving right as the Marathon starts and I don't know how that will affect availability. I am not a huge fan of making a room only reservation and putting money down only to cancel it later. Also, we are relatively flexible in terms of where we want to stay (we just want to stay on the concierge level of a monorail resort), in fact we are having trouble deciding. We know we will probably make a reservation before the codes come out, but we just afraid that we are going to go to make our package reservation and we won't be able to get what we want because of the Marathon.

If you are not sure of what day you are leaving- reserve your resort for the latest date. Room ressies will be very difficult to come by when the marathon is there. I would definitely reserve now for that time. You can always cancel with no problem- and money deposited to hold the room will be returned upon cancellation (as long as it falls within WDW deadlines that is!)

Well, according to a thread in the restaurant forum, as of January 2008 gratuity may be removed from DDP. Hopefully we can at least get a nice code for Jan 08!

Ok, here is the scoop....I will be graduating with my doctorate in December, and to celebrate, DF and I want to take a "pre-honeymoon" trip. I will be completely flexible in January because I probably will not have a job secured yet....so I need some suggestions on WHEN to go?

I know Marathon wknd is the 11-13th. DF would like to go during Disney's "Wonderful Weeks". And...we would like to stay at a more "centrally located" hotel. I was thinking WL, although I would LOVE Poly! We are also eligible for SOG, however, we need ME and DDP.

Any suggestions would be helpful, as I would like to call and make my "room only" ressie.

the January 2008 thread is already 11 pages long! We're going Jan. 25-Feb. 1 and have already made reservations at POFQ. We have budgeted for rack rates but of course would love a discount for extra spending money!
