January 2006 List- Who's Going

I'm going to CBR (standard room) for 5 nights between 1/12 and 1/17 and will have 5 day hopper tickets with dining.

Dreams Unlimted Quote : $2,010.00 ($120 of it is for the hopper)
AAA: $ 1,997.00 ($120 of it is for the hopper)
Disney $1893.00 (including "free promotion")

AAA gave me a quote of about $350.00 more if we wanted to switch to AKL
(We stayed there last February and loved it....just didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel and would rather have the $350 for spending money at WDW). They did ask if I wanted a quote at a value resort, but I saw that there was going to be a college national cheerleading competition during that same week. A friend of mine went one time during a national cheerleading competition and stayed at the All Star Movies and said they were kept up all night by them being loud right outside their room near the pool. The high school competition was going on when we went last February, but we never saw them except at MGM.

I will book through AAA if they can get me the "free" hopper promotion. Disney said they cannot give me the AAA discount for the package...only for the room

I too am hoping for that free park hopping deal, but we are paid for. This is our package through AAA

01/06-01/11 POP CENTURY
Dining plan
4 day non-hopper/expiring tickets

Total $1135

I didn't look anywhere else, so I can't compare it with anything.

We are contemplating joining all of you :)

Can you tell me if any of you have concerns about weather and it not being warm enough? Though my kids would like to visit BB, I don't want to walk around when it is hot and humid. So for me it would a great time to go.

Any of you have past experience where you will at least have one warm day?

Hey fellow jewlery junky, we will be there the same time (Jan 4th to 11th) at SSR. We should meet up, or at least I will know you by the siliver jewlery! :teeth:

dairyou, The weather is hit or miss depending on if there is a cold front coming through. We were there Jan 2004 and it was great (mid 80's all week) our last day a front came in and it only got to 55 for the high! It made it easier to go home again. We did BB that year and it was great. March 2005 we skiped it because it wasn't that warm (only mid 70's) but it still was great for the parks.

32nd wedding anniversary...kind of an "off" year so it's a "low budget trip" this time (yeah, right!)... can hardly wait! :Pinkbounc

We should definitely meet up! We are there for the 1/2 marathon (or rather DH is!!) I am running the 5K (or supposed too lol). Once it gets closer we can figure it out!

Sounds like a plan, I am sure we will be "seeing each other around." ;)

Wow, I am so impressed. I don't know how you can do it. I think it would be cool though. (Just keeping up after the little PhD clan does me in.) :goodvibes

How many are in your group? We are also going to CBR in January staying 7 nights w/ MYW Package including Park Hoppers & Dining. Wanted to compare prices.
Thanks

Will the marathon effect my trip (jan 6-14), will it be anywhere near summer crowds, or just a little bit above normal during this time of year?

I will be there with a good friend for a Mom's only trip and also my birthday (1/7-1/10)!!! I've never been to WDW on my bday before, and I am soooo excited!!! :cool1:

We are staying at OKW. On my birthday, Jan. 8, we are doing the spa at SSR (manicures & pedicures) and LeCellier for dinner. Did I mention I'm really excited?

I'd expect MLK day on the 16th to affect the parks much more than the marathon.

We are going for 2 weeks (1/27 - 2/10). :thewave:
Celebrating DW :earsgirl: birthday on 2/4. :bday:
Just can't wait to go!!! :hyper:

Add us to the list please! Just booked our air and hotel today :)

January 23 - 27 OKW
January 27-29 PO
January 29 - February 3 OKW

So excited to go!

Deb

Well, I changed my mind and decided to save a few $$. So, we're going to be at the Carribean Beach from 1/8-1/15.

Don't know if anyone posted or not, but January hours our out. The are not up on Disney's website yet, and will probably change a million times, but they are available on the TA website. PM if you want them. I am going to put them in a word file later this afternoon. Totally screwed with my plans. I guess we won't be seeing Spectromagic, I just can't fit it in :guilty:
