Sorry to tell you, but I read at Allearsnet that Test Track will close Jan 9 and will not reopen until February... My kids, DH, and I were disappointed ....

And if you are going to USF too, it seems that JAWS will only open at peak times . Really bad ... ug:

Our family will be at OKW 1/15 - 1/21. Can't wait!

Test track being closed is a real bummer! I am not sure who was more disappointed, me, wife, daughter 11 yr old, or son 6 yr old.

Are there any others closed we need to be prepared for? Test track is the only one I've seen.

Hi!

We'll be going down January 26-30, and staying at the Coronado Springs Resort. It's a Christmas present for my two daughters and my son-in-law, who will also celebrate his birthday while there.

We'll be doing the Segway Tour, as well as the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show.

Anyone ever been to WDW over MLK day? Is it more crowded than July or August? It's the only time that I saw as "busy" in January in Disney travel guides, but it's also the only time we can get there before our trip in May.

I booked our flight and now I have to book our room. We will stay at the Pop. We get in on the 23rd and leave the 27th.
This will be our honeymoon trip 17 years late, and our first trip ever alone.

It will be busy, probably the busiest point of the month. However, it won't be peak summer crowd busy. If you usually go during the summer, this will still seem like low crowds to you.

So lime-green has been decided as the official color?? Wow, I love this site, I wish I had known about it on my previous trips!

Lime Green IS the official color of the DIS. I know a lot of DISER's go to Home Depot and get the Mickey Mouse head paint chips in lime green. Many of them have them laminated and then attach to their purses, backpacks, and luggage on their trip. Also, a lot of people will tie a lime green ribbon to their backpacks while in the parks. Keep an eye out because if you see this-- usually it's another DIS member. I know I have my DIS pins I ordered from here ready to go!

Ok so my trip is sorta definite- maybe the first week of the new year...

Now that I see this list of all these dis'ers going it makes me nervous that it's gonna be crowded- anyone know if all the kids going back to school Jan 9th is gonna make a difference?

My plans are a little more flexible. Talking about staying at the Poly or CR with my friends CM discount im excited!

I just made my ADRs yesterday too! Woooohoo! I got everything that I wanted. Mind you, I wasn't going for anything too hard that would be sold out in January! I will be at WDW the same time...1/21 - 1/27.

As for the lime green thing...I think I will need to do something about that. This is going to be a solo trip for me...what a great way to meet some new people with the lime green thing!

jcemom-- is it really snowing??? Tonight at dinner DS asked if it was going to snow soon since it's been so cold and damp the last few days.

Oh, it snowed all right. Stupid weatherman. The prediction was 2" in the mountains, flurries everwhere else with no real accumulation. I do not live in the mountains...we got just shy of 5" of snow!!! We lost power Monday night and just got it back a little while ago. UGH. The kids did get to sled ride and build a couple of snowmen though. Thank goodness...at least that kept them busy for a while, LOL. It's also a good thing we have a vent-free gas heater in our bedroom that doesn't need electricity to operate or we would be frozen right now.

Of course, that means I did not get to call for my CRT reservation this morning. Our cordless phones need power to the base to operate, so we also had no phone (we don't have a cell). Back to the drawing board with my itinerary. I did make a CRT for another day when I called Monday morning, just because it was available and the CM suggested I make it as a back-up. So...it's not on the ideal day or at the ideal time, but I do have one.
