January 15, 2006 / 1/15/2006 anyone?

Steph,
They usually let you on the ship around noon or a little earlier.

Michele,
That is a good question, I always just signed them myself...not sure if thats right or wrong, maybe someone else can better answer that :confused3 ...I would hate to tell you something and it be wrong....I havent even started filling our papers out yet, I will wait until we are getting ready to leave to do it

Hi all,

Just found this thread.......We will also be on the Wonder 1/15-1/19. First time cruisers here and really looking forward to our trip. It will be me, my husband and our 5 yr old son. Received our cruise documents this week! Yeah! We will be spending the rest of the week at the AKL - looking forward to that too becasue we have never stayed there. Anyone spending the day at The Atlantis? I booked a room for around $200 at Comfort Suites so we can use all of the facilities. So worth it - we stayed there last fall and it was amazing - especially all the pools, cool slides and shark tanks! Our son loved it! Looking forward to a much needed vacation.....

Take care,
HeatherAnne :flower:

Hi Heather, Nice to meet you!

I have a 5 year old son as well

I know what you mean about the much needed vacation, I cant wait !

Hi HeatherAnne. There are going to be lots of boys on the cruise. We have a 6 year old son. We are staying 3 nights at WDW after the cruise at ASMu. What dinner time do you and Stephannie have?

Happy New Year :flower:

Michele,
We are staying at the all star sports Thursday-Saturday :flower:

Hi Gang!
We have late seating, my docs said they are going to stagger the times: 8, 8:15, and 8:30, but it didn't say what time we have, I guess we'll find out on the ship!

Yeah Stephannie I've finally found someone else on the board with second dining!!

Tiffany I didn't know you were going to WDW after the cruise. What are your plans for after the cruise? We are going to Chef Mickey's Thur night for dinner. Fri we're going to MK. Sat we haven't decided if we're spending the day at Epcot or starting at MGM and then going to Epcot. We have not been to either park.

Michele

Hello Everyone!

Just finished filling out our docs :cool1: - hope they are right!

Started a little pre-packing today (made the kids try on clothes to see what fits! etc.) So I'm feelin' good about that!

Can we really not get in our rooms till 2:30 Tiffany??? DANG - I kept thinking I read 1:30 - Oh well, I'm sure we'll be plenty busy till then anyway! Nice to have the voice of experiance to help us out - that's for sure!

Also wanted to say HI! to Stephanie and HeatherAnne - we also have a boys - they are 7 and 13. I bet the little boys are going to have a blast when they get together! (Here's hopin' my "big" boy does too!)

We are also heading back to Orlando after the cruise! We are staying off site at a time share type place called Regal Palms for 2 nights after the cruise - flying home on Saturday. We have one day left on some hoppers so our plan right now is to head directly to the parks when we get off the ship and hit EPCOT (just want to take the kids on Soarin' and see Turtle Talk w/Crush) and then over to MGM for the rest of the day to get in some stuff we didn't do last time...we should be good and exhausted after that! Friday I'm thinkin' sleep in & just hang at the resort if the wheather is good as it looks like they have a great pool area w/lazy river etc. and then maybe go to the magic show at Wonderworks for dinner.

Chef Mickey's sounds fun for dinner Michele - have only been there once for b-fast and I loved it!

Jamie

Michele,
We dont have any plans set in stone for the parks. We have hopper passes so we will be running everywhere...lol

Jamie,
Maybe it is 1:30 I could be a little confused......I dont know...but I do know its either 1:30 or 2:30..lol

Jamie

Hi Jamie!

Good to hear another "older" boy will be around, I'm sure there are others too, it just seems mostly the kids are younger (but I'm sure I've missed some things!!).

My son is 10, does your son like sports? My son is so excited about playing basketball on the ocean!!!

Have we decided when we can all get together to meet? Was it after the safety drill? At least we know everyone will be on board at this point!!!!

let me know!

Spent last night reading through the "TIPS" thread and throwing odds & ends together for the trip!

I'm getting pysched!!!

Can't wait to meet everyone!
Steph

Steph,
I am not sure when everyone will meet. It looks like the best time would be after lunch / before the boat drill but I dont want to leave anyone out if they are late getting onboard.....after the boat drill would probably work but then everyone will be getting ready for the sail away party & then dinner afterwards so I dont know...does anyone have any suggestions ??

I think 1:30/2 would work best if everyone is planning on being aboard at that time since everyone should be done with lunch unless you guys want to meet before we board the boat ????? :confused3

Let me know, I am hoping I have a lime green shirt to wear , I will know more later when I start to pack but I am hoping to have lime green for me and maybe one or two of my kids so we are easier to spot...lol

It is possible we might see each other in the terminal since it seems everyone is arriving relatively early. We are planning to drive from the Charleston (SC) area and get there around 10:30, we hope. I am going to put my kids in matching shirts for sure, either green (not lime, don't have it) or red. My husband and I might try to coordinate with them too for the picture we will get when we board. My daughter is 9, and my son is 4 and he wears little round glasses!

Onboard in the afternoon to meet seems good too.

My kids still don't know we are going even though my daughter got a new bathing suit for Christmas and they both got surf shirts. Also, our Wal-mart up this way already has flip-flops in ($1.94), so I would think anyone of them in Florida would have them in(I think I remember one of you worrying about that.) I think we are going to tell the kids on this coming Sunday night...we are excited just thinking about that. I am planning to pack over the weekend.

Laura

Can we do a quick roll call for all the kids that are coming ??

My children :

Ciara 9 Oceaneer lab

Paige 7 ( almost 8 so she will be in the oceaneer lab )

Caitlyn 6 Oceaneer club

Brian 5 Oceaneer club

Laura,
What a great suprise for your kids!

I am not sure what I will be wearing, I mentioned the lime green since that seems to be the "Dis Board Color"

We will be at the port early as well, we are staying in Kissimmee Saturday night.

I havent even started to pack yet...UGH

Kelby DS 10 Oceaneer Club

I guess I need to start thinking about the clothing, hmmm I wonder if I can talk my "boys" into wearing Pink Tink shirts!! http://www.disboards.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=11024221#

I doubt it!

We should make pins or something, maybe a something simple, like a colored ribbon bow on a safety pin attached to our shirt? Just something to distinguish us. Lime green ribbon might be hard to come by, but I'm willing to look- anyone one else interested?

Steph

Blake 6 Oceaneer club
Regan 4 Oceaneer club
Lauren 2
Taylor 2

We'll be at the port closer to 10:30. Either option is fine with us.
Michele

i can add some more kids and approximate ages
(they aren't mine, belong to my brother and sister)
bryce 6
victoria 6
mark 9
jonathan 10
kirstie 13

deann

My boys are:

Nathan 7 - Oceaneer club

Jacob 13 - Teen club...(at least that's his plan right now)

Hi Stephanie ~ Glad to hear there is at least one other older boy - too bad they won't be in the same group though - darn!! Unfortunately, Jake's not very sports minded - much to his (former high school hockey star) Dad's chagrin! He was in Tae Kwon Do for a few years but quit once he got his black belt - much to BOTH his parents chagrin!!! He does enjoy some stuff like volley ball and some water sports though - and I suspect he will be intrigued by the gym on the ship - is it open air? (Sorry if that's a dumb question!!) If so, that WOULD be pretty cool even if ya don't like basketball!

Hey, are any of you planning outfits for "dress up night"?? I can't decide what to pack for that...Mark thinks shirts and ties for him and the boys and a dressy dress for me - but I'm a little nervous now that we'll feel over dressed - he says he really doesn't care that much if we are, but I don't like to stick out like a sore thumb if ya know what I mean!

Jamie :)

Hi Jamie,
I've been wondering the same thing about dress clothes. I think Robert is going to take a button down shirt and tie for wearing to brunch at Palo and Trition's. For Blake I'm taking 2 polos, two short sleeve button down shirts, khaki and navy pants. Right now I am thinking about taking a dressy dress, sun dress, black pants and gray skirt. I wasn't sure if I needed to pack another dressy dress for brunch at Palo. Regan I have 2 dresses, 2 skirts and tops. I'm not sure if I need dress clothes for the twins. I have a dress, 3 capri pants and tops packed for them in case we need them.
