January 14, 2012 Eastern Carribbean Cruise

I've been reading on the other forums and it seems to me the ship docks port side to the dock so starboard would be facing the bay/beaches when docked.

I wondered about that. :( I can't switch mine now because I got the room.that is ahas a veranda but doesn't charge for it.

It's not guaranteed. Sometimes they back-in @ castaway so if that's the case we won't have the view I'm looking for, but that's ok. What room has a veranda but doesn't charge for it? That's cool!

Crap... Now I'm confused what side is starboard; I use to know.. We went last year and they backed in. From what I hear, they always back in now. My room has a partially blocked veranda so it's like a 5a... right next to the 5a's, but billed a 7a.

The side I'm on had the best views last year going to the Bahamas. Facing bow on the right.:rotfl:

Well we've switched to 7560 on the starboard side. I guess we'll see what they do. I hope They pull in nose first @ CC! here's a deck 7 map (with port/starboard legend):

Been away awhile, life got in the way of getting onto here...but wow you guys have been busy on this thread. Getting excited now that it is getting closer.

Have sailed on Magic for 4 sailings now, and only had problems with room 2539...stay away from this room. We started booking inside staterooms because we found we were rarely in them, so port or starbird wouldn't make a whole lotta difference for us. I have heard they always back into Castaway now though.

Checking out shore excursions...travelling with my 3 yr old, not finding much he is able to do. Anyone else finding this an issue?

Yes, that is the list I am talking about. THank you!

To whomever is now updating the website...we are in Ontario, we are on first dining (although they tell me my 3 and 13 yr old are wait listed for the early dining...fingers crossed), we are celebrating our 5th anniversary, and my parents 39th anniversary (although inbetween the two since ours is Jan 3 and theres is Feb 3), yes we would definitely like to join the FE...DH and I always do a Palo night, just haven't planned when yet. Cabin # to follow, I know we are on 2nd just don't recall the number at the moment. And travelling with my parents Donna and Greg who will be in adjoining cabin.

Sorry 3rd post today, can you tell I am excited to have time to read all your posts on here again!!! :cool1:

Hi all!!!:)
It's been forever since our last post. BUSY BUSY. We just made our final payment, and can't wait to join you all at Port.

Actually starboard side will be viewing the cay whilst backed in......gettin' my ship-terms mixed up!

my photo's on FB "Castaway Cay" and "Nassau, Bahamas" show pics from our room 6596(starboard) from last year. It's just the deck below. I think we would have really liked 6560 better or around there. It's closer to the elevators but not sure if there's more traffic noise. We are 7620 this trip not realizing both you and I are starboard. :goodvibes

We should have great views from our side of the ship. :cheer2:

And we're FINALLY in double-digits! only 99 more days! YAY! :cool1::cool1:

I am very sad to say this, but we have to move our cruise from January to March! :sad1:

I have been officially given permission to begin writing my thesis/dissertation (which is definitely a good thing :cool1: ) but the timing means that January is just about the worst possible time to take time off!

I wish you all a fabulous cruise!! :goodvibes

Hey guys. I had to cancel the cruise so I could take my daughter on a field trip to Disney. I wish I could have done both but I had to choose between one or the other.

Anyway, I thought you might want ot know why I havent been so active. I hope you guys have a ball!

OK ... now that Jen has officially announced this, she WAS our organizer. Does anyone else have any skills for that? Otherwise, I don't know how to set up the fish extenders and such.
