OK, so thanks to some fellow DISers, I am hooked on the Stephanie Plum series of books by Janet Evanovich. Since mid July I've managed to make it through to book 10, which I started tonight. It was pointed out by one of these DIS ladies that Ms. Evanovich mentions Walt Disney World, or a Disney character(s) often in her books, which she does. Tonight, though, I almost dropped the book when one of her characters was named Marty Sklar! So being the Disney geek that I am, I had to come here and ask about it.

She's obviously Disney-educated, being familiar with the name of an Imagineering exec (chief creative executive, if memory serves me correctly) - and I must say I'm impressed!

So.... anybody have any insight as to if she's really a Disney geek like the rest of us (no offense by the use of the term 'geek') - and if so, cool! :thumbsup2 Feel free to share your thoughts.

I just finished the 12th book and did notice that she mentions Disney but didn't catch the name reference.

I listen to books and they've had author interviews with her at the end of some of the books. Her daughter is the webmaster of her website and they answer all the questions etc. Sounded like they have lots of fun with it check it out http://www.evanovich.com/ and you can always ask her :)

I think she must just be a Disney fan. :thumbsup2

I'm reading Motor Mouth right now (the 2nd in the Barnaby series; first book was Metro Girl) and there's been mention of WDW in it as well.

The jacket says Janet lives in FL some of the time, so ya gotta wonder if she visits the parks when she's there. We should keep an eye out.

I just went there & did a search on the Q & A and found this:

I have noticed in books 2-5 there has been some mention of Disney, Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse. Is Janet a Disney Freak!
I'm not sure if she qualifies as a freak, but she loves Disney.-- Alex

Annette - is that series good, too? I don't know what I'll move on to once I finish the Plum series.

Not as good as the Plum series, IMO. But, it's OK. Something to pass the time between Plum books. Might just be that I don't feel as connected to the characters as I do the ones in the Plum series, KWIM?

I agree they are not as good, but really worth reading. There is also another series she did with Charlotte Huges, the "Full" series, that I liked as well and those books are :

Full House
Full Tilt
Full Speed
Full Blast
Full Bloom
Full Scoop

P.S. - The Lula comments have this preggo doing the laugh and squeeze!!!!

umm,,, Yeah!!!!!!!

The full series is good, I'm waiting patiently for the next Stephanie Plum book!!!

I am kind of a Morelli fan - not that I would look away if Ranger was walking by, I'm sure!

:thumbsup2 I think we Morelli fans are in the minority. All of my friends love Ranger. Granted, he does sound hot, but I've had enough Rangers in my own life! But I do love the whole triangle thing (keeps it interesting).

Could you picture Stephanie's grandmother in the Haunted Mansion?!!! All those caskets....

Morelli or Ranger... I still haven't decided which one I like best (both?).
