Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

OMG about the snow!!!! Will it get worse in January or is this just the start of snow in Canada? I've only been to Niagra Falls and once this new baby is old enough to ski, we plan to take several trips up north!

Wow, that's great! Is your Disney transfer to the port later though? We were going to do the Disney transfer from a Disney hotel but found that they dont' pick us up until noon and we wanted to be on the boat by then. If Disney will transfer us earlier if we stayed at the Hyatt, we may stay there then. I heard the pool rooftop is awesome!!!

Transfer busses start first pick up by 9:30 am. I don't remember anythign abotu the pool on the roof, I do remeber that there is a resaraunt that is all glass to watch the planes fly in and out.

LOL! You guys are so funny! I love going onto the thread and reading all the conversations!

So how much snow are our Canadian friends getting? We've been getting a good dusting every morning here in NJ....and I'm already tired of it! :)

OK I know this has been said before....in several of these 84 pages....but DH and I decided last night that since we are getting in at 2pm the day before, it really wasn't worth it to head to Disney for that night. We have annual passes but I doubt DD will nap that day and it probably isn't worth pushing her to Magic Kingdom for a couple hours. Plus last time we brought her on the Magical Express it was a nightmare because she just spent 3+ hours stuck in a plane....plus the time stuck in the airport....needless to say we weren't popular on that bus ride. And you need to wait until the bus fills up. So anyway, we're going to stay by the port instead....where are you all staying? Any good deals? Not sure if we're going to rent a car or get a car service right now. Any good car rental deals?

We bid on priceline for our hotel. Ended up with Courtyard by Marriott by the airport. Looks ok and has decent reviews. We only paid $50 so we really can't complain. Plus we are only there for a few hours since our flight doesn't land until after 8pm.
We rented a car and got a rate of $30 but we also booked it a long time ago. Not sure what the rates are now. I think that was the best deal for us since there are 4 of us.
Good luck with your planning.

We are staying at the Doubletree in Cocoa Beach. I had a reservation at the Radisson, but I heard a few horror stories about the shuttle situation. I do Hilton Honors, anyway, so I'd just as soon get the points. The TripAdvisor reviews for Doubletree are decent, and what I liked is that their shuttle is smaller and leaves at your own scheduled time. I had actually asked the desk clerk if she could arrange a car to take us to the port and she said she would, but that it wouldn't be necessary if we just wanted to use the service they offer. Also, cruise parking there is FREE and is actually on-site, not down the street. This is probably not a consideration if you are hiring a car service from Orlando, but I figured I'd throw it out there for anyone else reading. Oh, and the Doubletree was half the price of the Radisson! (Partly for parking, and partly for the fact that Radisson has that famous pool, I guess.) Looking forward to meeting you in a few short weeks! :cool1:

A number of us are staying at the Country Inn and Suites at the Port.....and I DO have a great deal for you!! If you use the Carlson Family & Friends code....you can get your room for only $70! We chose the Kid's Suite option (a walled off room with bunk beds for the kiddos)- but I think you can still choose the Park and Cruise option if you need it. No proof needed at check in. "Why yes, sir, here's my proof of being friends with Joe so-and-so who works for Carlson Hotels in St. Louis." Code is CARLSONF - good luck!

DH i suddenly concerned, does DCL have a lobster night? O they better or i am in trouble as everyone is counting on it? Does anyone know if they do and if so what night?

If they join up maybe you and i could join up.

Sorry i have not posted since you have been on and i see you guys hvae gotten.........VERY WELL ACQUAINTED:rotfl2:

So I am working on my vacation budget (as I should have done with my Christmas budget, before my DD became proud owner of HALF OF A TOYS R US store!!) and I am just casting the net about cabana sharing on Castaway Cay. Chrisse and Lynn were both possibly looking to share. I looked at these before booking Nachi Cocum and started wondering if it really mattered much. But a scroll through the cabana rental thread has me pretty much convinced. Anyone else? We are three, I think the max is 6 (or 8?)...

We'll be staying there too and also got a kid's suite! The kids are SO excited about that... :) Great about the discount...

It's either formal or semi- that they have lobster tails...

We are staying at the Country Inn & Suites as well, BUT.... we won't get there until 1 am!!! Yikes!!!

I have a question. Am I supposed to put my family's name on the FE or is it anonymous? :cool1:

So for anyone staying at CI&S, what time are you planning to arrive? We are planning on getting there around 3:30ish so the kids can play in the pool and the DH can have a nap.:sad2: Then we'll be doing dinner at FishLips...

What are your plans??

I say put your name. I am and I like knowing who did what, especially if someone does something really neat so I can "steal" their idea for the next FE event! :lmao:

Kelli,

We are not at your hotel, but we ARE having dinner at FishLips! We are actually going to be in town starting Thursday, to give ourselves a day to unwind between driving down and boarding the ship. If you do a pre-cruise meet, count us in!

So Kelli
just wondering when you are going to finish your last TR, or are you planning on leaving all your subscribers hanging until after this cruise ;)

I was kinda wondering the same thing! LOL
I guess it's too busy now with the holidays and such.

I for one decided not to wait for the end of this awesome TR. Instead, I plan to meet Tinkerkell123 onboard and keep feeding her cocktails until I get the whole story!

So, do someone else plans to parasail in Key West with Fury Cat for $35? I can't be the only one to be both a thrillseeker and kinda cheap!

I'm booked for 3 PM, it was even cheaper to book in advance. And even if it rains, I don't think it will make it any less thrilling. The only thing is... I know the boat first speeds to get you up in the air, than you're being brought down just to splash your legs in the water, and than up again. Ever since I booked it, I have this constant image of me being delicately brought down, just to have a huge shark slowly open his mouth just under me... :scared1:

I'm not scared, but I keep seeing this funny image. Oh, and I wanted to convince people to come with me, right? So... Who's with me? I promise, after eating me, this shark's gonna be sleeping for quite a while!

My family and I will be parasailing in Cozumel at Nachi Cocom. My DD and I are going tandem because we are both scared to death but DH and DS are goign solo. I hope you have fun so you can ease my mind before we get to Mexico...lol. Please no shark stories!

so who has their FEs all figured out? Im kinda sorta there. i still have to make it ofcourse but the plan has atleast been hatched.
