Jan 2010 Code Watch

ughhh so disappointed the pin code isnt good for mlk weekend!!! im still going though .. i was just hoping to upgrade :cloud9:
still totally excited to go though!! :wizard:

Used Small World Vacations TA and used the AP discount to book the WL (Woods View) January 21-28. Right now, this and a Woods View w/ Bunkbed and Courtyard View w/ Bunkbed are the only room types available with the discount. :yay:

Did you have to buy park passes to get the discount or was it room only?

I also received my first-ever PIN code, which if it includes POFQ would be better than the 4/3 that I already reserved - it only has 2 blackout days over marathon weekend, as opposed to the 3 days on the Disney VISA offer which I also got. I could only use two of the extra days on the 4/3, and the 4/3 package includes theme park tickets which I don't actually need (I have unused tickets, and I don't do much park stuff before the races - yes, the Goofy!). I haven't heard back from my TA at AAA - does anyone know if the code offer includes POFQ?

Minnesota!
I am watching for the general public discount too. I was hoping it would be today but nope. I will be watching every day and hoping for Sunday at the latest. Crossing my fingers for all of us who are waiting.

Which gp discount are you referring to? I just want to know what I'm looking for. Thanks:)

Just to let everyone know, I was able to apply the visa rewards discount (OIZ) to my reservation for MLK weekend. I wasn't able to do it when they first came out, but I tried again today and they applied it.

It wasn't as good a discount as I hoped. It was $144.00 a night at the Caribbean Beach Resort-Pirate room, but better than the rack rate I was paying. Keep trying!:goodvibes

This is a room-only reservation made with the Annual Passholder 40% discount. I can add the DDP later if I choose to..... thinking on that one.

Hi
I want to stay at the poly for 14 nights. In order to use the 4/3 sale , I have to have 2-1 week stays and for each week I have to buy tickets. I am thinking I would be better off to buy annual passes and get this 40% room discount that you talk about . Is this deal out for sure or is this speculation? Would I be able to stay at the poly with the annual pass deal? I am not using any dining plan and I don't live in Florida.

Thanks
Eric

What is your nightly rate for a mod? I'd like to compare it to the Disney Visa rate.

Thanks!! :goodvibes

The 4/3 is a 43% discount on the room so you would be better off doing the 4/3 deal for the first 7 nights, upgrading the tickets with that package to AP's and then get an AP rate for the last 7 nights. I think the 40% is a AP Pin code. I was able to book it because the CM said I had the Pin (I never did get an email on it). I already have an AP. The "regular" AP discounts tend to be a flat dollar discount so aren't usually as high as 40% at the Poly. I'm guessing for value season it would be something around $100 off/night.

I was able to get a quote for AP w/o a pin or code this morning, so I guess those rates are available to all Ap's now.

I have the Visa rate of $623 for POR 1/7-1/13. I wanted to add the QSDP, but did not want to add an extra day ticket (I am accumulating a stack of those ). The Visa rate for the 6 nights POR, QSDP and one day base ticket is $900.The AP rate for the same package w/o the ticket is $868. As much as I don't want an extra ticket, it seems a bit nuts to pass up a one day ticket for $32!

WOW!!!!! I just got a FL resident room only rate for our January trip.

We are booked 1/15 for 3 nights at POP Century. We had a AAA rate for a standard room for $327.36. I just got a FL resident rate for a PREFERRED room for $264.63, including tax.

Make a phone call and save money - I love it! :cool1:

Just got BWV 2bdrm for $390 a night! Tried for BLT, but will take the Boardwalk in a heartbeat. :goodvibes

I had the 4/3 deal at POFQ for myself and D19, with an extra night which was the 2nd of Jan, the day before the deal started so my extra night had to be the first night. But that first night was a holiday rate of 246! The 40% off came out and I switched to that, it did save me a little bit of money, about $40. So that's great! :goodvibes If I upgraded my tickets to AP tickets, how much money would that be? I have hoppers this time. And, how long would they last? Would that save me any money or not so much? It's probably not something that I will do but I started wondering, hearing many talking about AP tickets.
Thanks!

With tax, I think a regular AP will cost about $520 each adult. If you have a one day base ticket, or a multiday with your package you can use the value of that ticket towards the purchase of your AP. I did this for my first AP. I think I had an 8 day multiday and I received the entire value of that ticket towards the AP. I bought the AP on day 8 of the multiday ticket. Just bring your ticket to guest services at any of the parks. Your expiration date on the AP is the date you first used your ticket. So, for example, I first used my 8 day ticket on 7/22. I bought the AP on 7/29. The expiration date on my AP was 7/22 the following year.

Now booked for 5 days 4 nights in at POP! with DxDP!

Called and asked about the pin I recieved in my email about Mod's/Deluxe's etc and they said that it DID in fact cover Value resorts too! I was shocked b/c the email said NOTHING about it! So, it may be worth it for some of you to check into it if you got the code.

Only saved me 85.00 but it saved that AND bumped us to a preffered room.

Cool, thanks very much, I appreciate it! Will have to think if it will be worth it, if our next visit will fit in that year or just miss. Thanks again! :)

IF you want to get two trips on an AP, you can plan to visit in December next year. The deocorations are truly beautiful!!!

I just got off the phone with WDW res. I'm was thrilled to learn that I have a pin code associated with my name which is the 30% off Value, 35% off Mods, and 40% off Deluxe deal. I made a res. at AKL standard view for $144.00 per night. Last time we stayed there in 2002 we were upgraded to pool view. I just love the ambiance at AKL along with the aroma of Boma and Jiko. I'm also looking forward to exploring the Villas for the first time.

My experience is proof that it does pay to ask about the pin codes!

Just a little confused (sorry if this is a dumb question) but did you call just for the heck of it to find out about a code or did you expect to have one because you are AP or Disney Visa.:confused3 ....we are booked at POP room only with AAA rate for 10 nights...we have 7 day base MYW tickets already (last years christmas gift)...so I am wondering if we would even qualify for anything?:confused3....like I said confused:upsidedow

I would love to do that! Actually, the last three years we went in Nov so we could see the Xmas stuff, we love it! But, my DD19 just graduated from highschool this year. She is in college locally so lives at home, but she doesn't want to take any days off from school. In highschool I didn't see it as a problem because she always got good grades all the time, regardless if she missed a week. I figured if her grades didn't change one way or the other, that worked for us, and so we could take a week off and somehow she never got too much homework at all! But, now she doesn't want to at college, so we have to go over XMas break in Jan. Glad to still go to disney of course, :goodvibes but selfishly I'll miss all the Xmas stuff since it's about over the weekend we arrive. At least we will squeeze in the Osbourn lights and the Castle dream lights(my absolute favorite!) when we arrive that weekend right after NYE! :santa:

Not that you asked for opinions exactly, but I'd suggest signing up for the disney visa card. Then, you would have a good chance of taking advantage of the room only discount of 40% that's come out recently, if not at Pop or a value, then at a mod and still get a great deal! I said room only code since you have tickets already. To take advantage of a package deal, that means you need to buy at least a one day base ticket. Some people still do that and just save the ticket until a later trip if the deal is good enough. Not everyone wants another credit card but if you only use it to get the deals for trips, it's still worth it! And, if you really don't want to get a d.visa, if you watch the codes and rates section, a new general public code may still eventually come out that you can use!

And, you can call just for the heck of it to find out if there is a code attached to your name and they just didn't send it out email. Just call and tell them you'd like to check and see if there is a code attached to your name. Most CM's will be happy to look for you. If you get one who says no for some reason, just say thank you and call back and ask another CM. I just read the other day of someone else who had a free dining code attached to their name. Of course, sometimes there may be a code attached but it's not one for a time you can use but you never know, you just might get lucky! :goodvibes
