Jan 2010 Code Watch

This really irks me, more then anything. I called and was told also I had to have the 15 digit pin, which I dont have (my husband right now has the AP and I never thought about registering his e-mail). If this is the way Disney is going to handle AP discounts in the future, then I might not be paying to stay on Disney property in the future, rack rates are insane.

If this is the way they are going to treat customers do any of us wanted to be treated like this?

Ok well that was a dud. When the CM came on the phone I asked if I can apply the AP rate to my reservation. She told me there are no publicly available ones out right now. I told her NPJ or whatever it was and she said that is an error and it is not valid. She said they are aware of a few websites giving wrong information about AP codes (grrr!) and she's sorry for the misunderstanding. The only AP rate available is if you got a specific email or PIN code. She's not sure when official public AP rates will come out but she's sure they will, they do every year. :)

take a peek at my post right below yours! :) The CM I talked to said there will be public AP rates, they're just not out yet!

This is from today's disneyreward.com website:

Even princesses can use a vacation
Book now and enjoy 40%* off room rates at select Disney Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts.

Take your family on a fairy tale journey and, as a Disney Rewards® Cardmember, you can save 40% on select Walt Disney World® Resort room rates. Plus, with this special offer, you can make a fantastic vacation even more magical.

The website actually breaks down the room prices by dates. This code is OIZ and requires a Disney Visa or Disney Rewards card.

Thanks! I'll call again when I get home this afternoon.

Dh just called and was told the OIZ is no longer available for the values - all codes are gone for when we will be there (01-15 - 01-18).

Hmm I am a Disney Visa holder, who just booked POP like 2 weeks ago with the 5/2.

I did the math, and the rate for 7 nights at POP with the 5/2 is 62.00 a night. The rate at PORFQ with the 40 percent pin is 90.00 a night. So staying at POP is a 190.00 savings, plus the two days of free Hoppers equals 24.00 ( 12.00 times 2 people)

Am I missing something, or is it really cheaper to skip the code, and stay with the 5/2?

Well, you're comparing the cost of a moderate resort to the cost of a value resort. It will probably almost always be cheaper to stay at a value resort.

Our trip is only four nights, so the 4/3 did me no good. I am thrilled with 40% off. You just have to run the numbers for your family and see if you are willing to pay extra for a moderate resort.

I called today to see if I could switch my 4/3 at AKL CL to Disney Visa deal. I am taking my DD for her 7th bday and we both already have APs. The CM said AKL CL wasn't available with Visa deal for my dates which didn't surprise me at all. BUT....she said I had the AP pin and she was able to book that for me. So I was paying $200/night with 4/3 deal and I'm paying $210/night now but now I don't have to buy the $450 work of tickets AND I don't have to pay the balance until check in instead of before Christmas.

Then she asked me if I had any other trips planned and I told her I had a room only at Pop for 5/1 to 5/8 and she was able to book that for me too. I was paying $860 for a standard room for 7 nights and she changed that to an AP package with DxDDP for $1,250.:woohoo: That trip will be me & DS (9yrs) and he's my good eater so we're excited to try DxDDP before he's an "adult". Can't wait to do a week of signature dining with him.:cool1:

I didn't even ask her about the AP pin because I NEVER get them-I've gotten them in the mail before but only in various friends' names who have traveled with me. I am just so excited by this!!!!

:wizard::wizard::wizard:Hope all the other Disers get Pins too!!!!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

This really irks me too. I have an AP and no discounts yet. I just called to make a payment and the agent said no telling when or if there will any discounts for AP holders other than what has been sent per email.

You guys may want to call and see if you have a pin attached to your name. We didn't get anything via e-mail, but did have a pin (amazingly!) attached. This is only the 2nd pin we have ever gotten too.

I did still send an e-mail to Disney marketing, as even though I got what I wanted I still vehemently disagree with the policy. If anyone wants the e-mail to complain let me know I don't know if the dis board gods will allow me to post it.

I will say finally I haven't lost all hope in Disney, I had a wonderful CM, who graciously listened to me vent, and was very helpful.

We reserved 7 nights at POFQ at the end of January/beginning of February. Before the Visa code, it was $1165; after the code was applied it was $717!!!:cool1:

Just booked Wilderness Lodge - Woods View from Feb 3rd to 9th with Basic Dining and 7 days Park Hopper for $2,200. Also booked non-stop round trip air from KC for 2 for $298 total. Looking forward to our first stay at Wilderness Lodge. That air fare is unbelievable bargain from what I have been seeing.

Wow, that is a great deal on the airfare!!

please forgive me if this has been covered already -

But do you guys think the Visa promotion will be extended to non-Visa holders (so a general use code) sometime? And if so, when?

Thanks!

I would have thought it would have been extended yesterday or today. :confused3 Usually the general public codes trail the Disney Visa codes by three or four days. Not sure what is up this time - maybe they have gotten a lot of bookings?

Minnesota!
I am watching for the general public discount too. I was hoping it would be today but nope. I will be watching every day and hoping for Sunday at the latest. Crossing my fingers for all of us who are waiting.

Used Small World Vacations TA and used the AP discount to book the WL (Woods View) January 21-28. Right now, this and a Woods View w/ Bunkbed and Courtyard View w/ Bunkbed are the only room types available with the discount. :yay:
