wannagotodisney...I did call just for the heck of it since I've been reading all these posts about pin codes. We haven't gotten a postcard or e-mail with a code in years, but this is the second time that I've called and been told that there is a code associated with my name.

We go to Disney at least once per year and recently we've not done the packages just room only discounts. We're two 50-somethings who don't need to be in a park each day, we just relax and do what we want like enjoy the resorts and pools, ride the boats, go to DTD, and have some nice adult meals.

Give reservations a call directly, not thru Triple A. Who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised!

I am trying to plan a trip during Christmas vacation this year at Sea World and then follow it up with a little trip to Disney World, we would be checking in on January 1st 2010 and checking out on January 4th, I have called and looked online but I am trying to find out if any rates either general public or Fl resident will be available for these dates. If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I don't know of any deals out for general public yet, or even Fl residents yet, but then again I am not a Fl resident and could have missed info about it. The only thing I do know about for that time is the Disney Visa codes of 40% off, they have room only or a package deal that's valid most days 1/1 - 2/11/10. If you don't have the D.V. card yet, it might actually be worth getting as the rates are definitely high for those days. Jan 1st and 2nd are at weekend rates, plus those two days are also at holiday rates. At a Mod that is $246 for the 1st and 2nd for standard rooms(I'm at a mod Jan 2 - 10 myself). I have the D.V. so I used that discount instead of the 4/3 discount I started with. Hopefully something else will come out for that time if this doesn't work for you! Good Luck!

I have a questions about PINs. I received a letter last week, saying I had a pin (I think). But the resort they referenced was the one i cancelled because the 7/4 deal woudl not apply if I switched resorts on day 5.

Do I call and see if there is one associated with me?

Will it apply to the 7/4 deal I am currently taking advantage of?

That's b/c everyone else is trying to make ADR's! It's been pretty crazy all day. You'll have better luck getting through tomorrow....hopefully

No. You can call and see if it available at the resort you choose (usually multiple resorts are covered with a PIN offer). However, you will have to choose either the 7/4 OR the PIN. You can't apply both to the same reservation.

It was busy for me for awhile too but I finally got through. The CM laughed and said because of ADRs hogging the phone lines...all the vacation reservation people are just sitting around doing nothing! haha! AND she was nice enough to transfer me directly to dining after I was done with her so I can tweak some of my ADRs and I had NO wait!

I rarely look on the weekends. I've never known them to start a promotion for AP discounts on the weekends. Generally it's usually Tues-Thurs. But of course, the promotion releases for 2010 have been different than past years. I'm always curious to see what they have up their sleeve next. I would love to see free dining offered to AP holders (without having to buy a ticket). I talked to a CM recently about the 3/4 promotion being released before AP discounts (which is unusual) and he said they are trying lots of different promotions for 2010 and we would be pleased. He said they would be staggering the discount releases. It made my mind wonder what type of promotions they could offer -- maybe 50% off of dining for AP holders -- I got the pin code discount (we actually got 4 of them) for AP holders, so I have applied that to my Jan/March trips.

I did some calculating..

With the Buy 4 get 3 deal at a deluxe, I'm actually getting 43% off --slightly better than a 40% code.

I fought it for years, mostly because DH was a CM at the time, but when that ended, we joined DVC and could not be happier with our choice, especially knowing that our many trips a year are alread paid for! I guess you were like me and getting all of your ADRs this past week! I also have a trip in March thrown in too!

BUT...you've just reminded me....my 180 days for May is tomorrow and I'm NOT ready. I guess I better go work on that! My 90 days for January was before the switch so I didn't have to deal with the mad rush and I actually had AKL IPO take care of that for me. For May I'm not staying CL and am going to try DxDDP for the first time so I really have to get my schedule worked out.

Feel free to PM me anytime, it was very confusing for me when we joined, but I had a dear friend who answered all of my questions and I'm so glad we joined. Good luck making your May ADRs, often when I'm not completely ready, I just go online and make the hard ones first, then go back and make the others ones when I can make sense of my plans. The online system makes it much easier to do it at your own pace and makes it easy to cancel if you change your mind.
