Jan 2010 Code Watch

Do you have to apply the discount over the phone? I called and was put on hold for nearly an hour, and the CM was unbearably frustrating (no AP discount is out, etc. etc.). I'll call if I have to, but I don't want to spend another hour waiting for someone to tell me they don't have an AP discount out. I did get the email with the pin code. Any help would be great. :sad1:

The Disney Visa discount worked for me on Jan 2-5. I wasn't sure if it would apply for the 2nd (holiday rate and I think blacked out for the AP rates), so the Visa discount might work for marathon weekend. Worth calling to ask, anyway :)

I called tonight and was told the AP discount or Visa Rewards discounts are only if you received a PIN by email.

The Visa Rewards discounts is on their website (disneyrewards.com) and seems to be open to all cardholders. I didn't get an email for that one, but the code according to the website is NPJ.

As for the AP discounts, there is nothing on their website and mousesavers listed the exact same info as the PIN code discount. I did get 5 pin code emails on different accounts for members of our family.

I need to try to figure out which is the best option for my 2010 trips.

I got the email from Disney Destinations yesterday. I tried to get the pin applied to my Jan. trip. When I gave the number the CM told me that the pin wasn't in my name--it was actually in the name of a friend of mine who I have traveled with in the past. He said I could not use the pin. So, I asked him to see if a pin was attached to my name since I too am a passholder. I was waiting for him to check and...the call "dropped"! I called back twice and could not hold any longer.

I called again this morning. They said no AP code is attached to my name, even though I am an AP holder and the pin came to my email!! I was, however, able to use the Disney Visa code and my total for 6 nights in Jan. went from $831 down to $623!

I would still like to get the AP rate applied since I would like to add dining without having to buy another one day ticket.

Yes, I too am crunching the numbers. While the Visa code is 40% off of moderates and the AP pin code is 35% off moderates, I want to add the dining and can't with the Visa code (or at least I don't think so). Did you register your AP when you got it at home on the passholder website AND update your profile on the disneyworld website to include your AP information? I did that with all of us and now everyone gets an email when something is released. Most of the time they are the same pin, but not always.

I just called about the AP rate and they said you have to have the 15 didget number from the email. Both my husband and I are registered on Disney and neither of us got the email which is BS. Has anyone been told if they are going to post it on Disney site soon? I think Mousesavers should remove the info from their website since not all AP holders can use it unless you got the email.

I don't have a Disney visa card, but I am scheduled to go to Disney Jan 13-20. If I signed up for the card today, would I be able to get the rewards?

I just called again this morning. The CM said NPJ is for passholders who have a dining package. We are passholders but have a room only booked.

Has anyone attempted to make an online reservation for January using the Disney Passholder site? Every time I put in my dates of travel, it kicks me back to the current pre-filled in date!!! Ofcourse we are going to be in WDW January 7-11th and it looks like the AP rate will only be good for the first night of our stay ... but anything we save will be extra in our pockets to spend!!!:woohoo:

This deal is not on the passholder website. I checked this morning. Only room discount for 2009.

Once again I called to get a different CM and she didn't know anything about the discount and I gave her the code off of Mousesavers and she put me on hold I guess to talk to her superviser. She came back on and told me the AP discount was for the travel date of Feb-June and that she she had the approval to book ressies for me, I told her that wouldn't work that mine was in Jan and I could not change it. I told her that the email that people recieved said the travel date for Jan, She said no it was for Feb-June. Someone has their wire crossed wrong. They even had the wrong email for me, one that I never heard of, so that is why I must of not got the email. grrrrrrrrrrrr:mad:

This is from today's disneyreward.com website:

Even princesses can use a vacation
Book now and enjoy 40%* off room rates at select Disney Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts.

Take your family on a fairy tale journey and, as a Disney Rewards® Cardmember, you can save 40% on select Walt Disney World® Resort room rates. Plus, with this special offer, you can make a fantastic vacation even more magical.

The website actually breaks down the room prices by dates. This code is OIZ and requires a Disney Visa or Disney Rewards card.

I have the pincode and the dates are like you said:

1/3/10-1/7/10
1/10/10 - 1/14/10
1/18/10 - 2/11/10
and more

Those are the dates I told her and she said it was wrong. Oh well I don't think I would have been able to get the discount but one of my days since the rest fall on MLK weekend.

We went last year during MLK weekend and while the value resorts were blocked out, I did get an AP discount during the entire MLK weekend. The passholder website showed it was blacked-out, but I put my dates in anyhow and to my surprise I paid $99 a night for a moderate resort. (I was booked at Pop for $92 full price, so switched to POFQ). So there is still hope that you may get a discount. Even if it says it blacked out, still have someone check, either by calling or using the AP website. Sometimes you get better deals on the AP website (recently when calling there were no discounts for hte weekends, but on the website, it did give weekend discounts, needless to say, I booked through the website). Hang in there!

I think I know why I got the code now. We just changed our email account and hadn't updated our info on the Disney site or our ressies yet. We must have received a code and it must have gone to our old address. We also had it noted on our ressie, which had dining on it that we were waiting for AP discount to apply to it, so maybe if you already had a package with dining booked and were an AP holder you were sent the email. Just a thought.

I was just able to modify our reservation for January using the OIZ Visa code. I saved about $100 per night over the AAA rate - 4 nights AKL club level for $945 total, including taxes. :cool1:
