I so not handle waiting well! And I know hubby is checking this thread too- so he will agree! What if Disney has decided not to do any codes?!?! What if they pink slipped the "code" department?

NAH!!! Fingers crossed for a 40 but the past 3 it has been free park hopper.

Good morning code watchers!!!! We are eagerly awaiting a code for our trip just like everyone, but MAN, am I tired after a late night staying up watching Obama's acceptance speech!!! "It's time for a change...." and I second that....a change as in "Give me a code for a change!!!!!!!"

I just got off the phone with CRO, nicest CM ever. Anywho, I was asking about our family getting one AP and with discounts that were out with it. And the CM says: Are you looking for a discount?
me: yes
CM: there is about to be something really big
me: oh really
CM: yeah, I'm going to a meeting in 45 min to find out all the details, it could be out in a few days or maybe evn 72 hours.
me: oh my yeah I think I'll wait about the AP
CM: do you remember the little recession before 9-11?
me: oh yeah (I said but I really don't remember)
CM: well, it's gonna be like that, I've worked for Disney 10 years and I have never seen anything like this

Sounds promising! At least he went the extra mile to give YOU the information instead of us asking for it. That says to me he maybe know what he is talking about (hoping)...thanks for the info

You could tell that he was trying to leak it. Like he would ask me a question about my reservation, and then squeak a little out. It was great...I just hope it's so.

Good morning. I was in WDW in Feb of 2002. I received the, for lack of a better term, Post 9-11 discount. I stayed at OKW in a 2 bedroom for 7 nights. THE DEAL????? Pay for a 4 night/day package and get upgraded to a 7 day package for free!

Wow, the most promising news in a while. Thanks for sharing!!

Even though we're all getting a little frustrated and edgy, I do honestly believe that a code will eventually be released. My TA confirmed last week that bookings were down for the January/February time period, so it doesn't make sense for them to pass us all by. She mentioned that the economic slowdown was "bad news for the travel industry, but good news for travellers" because discounts get better to entice people who may be sitting on the fence.

So, here's to some renewed hope for us all. And a little pixiedust to brighten your day.

I am healthy, happy, employed, and have a great family. I'm also planning a Disney vacation for the first time in my life!! So I don't know about anyone else, but I'm just trying to keep things all in perspective.....a code would be fantastic but if not, then we'll still make the journey, enjoy every minute, and make it work one way or another. And I'll keep buying those lottery tickets, just in case!!!

I remember immediately after 9/11 they offered all military got into the parks for free, and their family members got 50% off (up to 4 or something.) We took advantage of that in early 2002. But I don't remember anything before 9/11???? Sounds interesting.
