Jan 2009 Code Watch

Well, I am doing my daily morning ritual of checking the code thread, and once again, NO NEWS! :lmao: The thought just occurred to me, what will I do once the codes (if any) come out. Oh no, there will be a void. :rotfl2: But .... my wallet will be happier.

We're hoping for a 40% off code.

We are passholders, so I don't think the free dining would apply to us if it becomes available.

crossing my fingers for Monday.....

Well, I am doing my daily morning ritual of checking the code thread, and once again, NO NEWS!

Nice to know that I'm not the only one with that morning routine! We have our airline tix and car rental reservation...just nowhere to stay! I promised DH that by 11/3, we'll make our reservations. If they offer a code, we'll be onsite, if not, we'll probably stay offsite. :(

last year mlk weekend was excluded so i would think this year would be as well. sorry

what days are included in MLK, Fri., Sat., Sun,& Mon.? The dates Canada got on the pin I think exclude that whole week after. Are AP discounts usually for the same dates, or more flexible?

LOL! I'm in the same boat! I am hoping wishing praying that this is going to be fantastic offer, but I would be thrilled with either 40% or free dining! I actually hadn't even considered free dining being an option until 2 days ago. I did the math and it would be a good discount for me!

So what does "free dining" consist of anyway? If I already have the basic DDP on my package, will the free dining benefit me or not?

If I am correct, you would call to see if the offer would apply to your dates & resort; if so, they apply the code and you no longer pay for the dining plan. If not, you could look into changing your resort to get the free dining plan.

Nice to know I have company :surfweb: and I'm not the only one hangin' out, waiting for the elusive codes....

Just fiddled around with the math. A 40% off room rate code would save us $357.60 at POR. Free dining would save us $719.82. Either, however, would make me a very happy girl :yay: .

Free ticket upgrades would save us $319.56. DS and DH would just love to go to Disney Quest, so we'd definitely put that upgrade to use :thumbsup2 . Not sure about the waterpark option.....will depend on how warm it is while we're there. As for park hopping....we'd probably do it (even just once!), just to say we did :rotfl: .

Here's to some great news (hopefully!!) next week :goodvibes !

I'm pretty sure you can make your ADR's now regardless of if you have DDP or not. I haven't done DDP before, so I'm unsure if you need to note that on your ADR. But I'm certain you could give that info later.

Thanks Mrs D.:goodvibes I don't think it will hurt to make the ADR's either, like I said before, I will have to cancel out all but a few if we do not get free dining, but I will make sure and do the canceling as soon as we know for sure!

:cheer2: Come on Codes!

Laurie

The codes that are out now are those “magical” pin codes everyone looks for. There is no rhyme or reason to who gets them. Typically, the codes that come out for Visa Card Holders, AP Holders, and the general public usually only blackout four days for MLK weekend (1/16-1/19 for 2009).;)

Thanks - I was wondering the same thing!

This may have been asked before, but if a code for use on a package comes out, but blocks the 18-19 of Jan, but not the rest of my week, can I still use it for the days that are not blocked? I have a package booked with Dining.
Thanks!:cool1:

I am wondering this too! Hope somebody knows the answer! :thumbsup2

I have check the DIsney Visa site, and called WDW.... nothing yet....also put a call into my friend at CRO but she is out shopping for a wedding dress..... she needs to get her priorities straight....lol

just called - nothig yet !!! but I got the usual, keep checking they should be out soon. Alright already. I want to make my final decision so that I can start planning. Our trip is not definite until/unless a decent code comes out. Well, looks like we are waiting until Monday!

Okay another post has someone getting a pin code for 09 dates for 40% off Magic your way pkg. That would be over $1,000 savings for me! Could that be right?:confused3 Sounds like an awful lot off.

I tried a different route. Talked with our AAA agent last night. Same thing, no codes. We are planning on going over the ever popular MLK weekend. Sat Jan 17 - Wed Jan 21. Our AAA agent also confirmed that the MLK weekend is usually exempt from the popular codes and discounts. So sad. One can dream right! Especially with what is going on in the stock market at this every second. Let's all keep hoping and dreaming of a little pixie dust / great codes to come in soon!!!

We went last year during MLK and was able to use the code? Maybe they seperated it from the other days? Dunno?
