Jan 2009 Code Watch

Allright, I'm officially with all of you and holding my breath for a great code! We booked the airfare tonight and we took the "worst case scenario" and said we coudl live with it. We're going to stay off site 12/30-1/2 and then check in for 1/2-1/12.

Now I'm in planning mode!

Like some of you, we're planning 1/24-1/30. Had to cut it a day short since we're planning on DRIVING (UGH-I wanna cry just thinking about that long trip)! Can't afford to fly now that youngest is no longer a lap baby! Hoping to stay at Pop again! Here's lots of pixie dust to us all waiting for 'FREE DINING' or at least 40% off rooms!!! pixiedust: pixiedust:

Did anyone else see the misleading gaint graphic on the left side of disneyworld.com today?

Ehhhh....

So here's a newbie question. Say a discount applies to 3 out of 4 of my vacation days. Do I have to buy park tickets, meal plan, full price room, etc. for the one day? Or do I keep the same reservation, meal plan, ticket, and simply pay more for the room?

What graphic are you talking about?
I have a small dilemma. I have a res for January at AKL CL. I can save about $240 with a AAA discount, but I have to (obviously) join AAA for $45 or so. I already have a roadside assistance plan through USAA so I really don't need AAA. But if a Jan code comes out, I won't need the AAA discount. Also, for some reason, purchasing a room only AAA discount aqnd the AAA tickets separately would be about $50 less than the AAA package. Is booking the package through AAA worth it? (The parking pass sounds promising but I don't know that there are any other advantages?) What should I do?? Any advice for an obsessed newbie?

Free dining would take the sting out of our trip and help me make the final decision. I am debating on canceling it since money seems to be a bit scarce! We are booked at POP (WAHOO) for 4 of us- 2 children on the DDP and it is $1600- ouch!

Well I noticed that mousesavers is posting a "special" for Disneyland in January....perhaps ours is coming next??? If ours is anything like the DL one then I think I'm stuck with the "wost case scenario" pricing! Ugh! I need to practice my "believing" skills.

Hope thats not what we are getting... thats only a savings of about $35 per person in my group.... not at all what I was hoping for.....

You might be better off doing a $49 rate on the hotel if it comes out and eating really cheap quick service food and skip fancy meals. Or if money is that tight, don't stretch yourself so thin and put off the trip for a few months - what happens if some necessities pop up (car/home repair,etc...), and you can't pay for those?

All this waiting is killing me.....

Here's one Canadian girl who didn't get one of the PIN codes that soooo many northerners received :sad1: According to Mousesavers, Canadian discounts had already been released by this time for the past two years.....I am so hoping that these PIN codes don't replace the discounts for the Cdn. general public.

My mom keeps telling me "good things come to those who wait". She can be frustratingly positive sometimes, but I still love her to death  . I just really wish we wouldn't have to wait much longer!!!

OK, pity party over.

queenof hearts, how much are the tix southwest is offering? I've been looking but haven't got anything from SW. I could use some cheap tix for 12/24.

If you fly from Buffalo - go check out the Canadian board - someone posted a 50% off airfare sale!

I am hoping (gut instinct) that they will be released on Monday. (I do not have any inside information), but based on last year it was released the end of October and seems like alot of times the codes come out on Mondays I am thinking this Monday might be it:worship:

Everyone... lets cross everything! fingers, toes, legs, etc.:rotfl:

I think you might be right. I know its getting closer...my SW fare just dropped $22! Now I have $44 credit!

If the codes come out next week, I'll scream. I'm going to WDW in Jan, but I'll be in DLR all next week and away from my computer.
