Jan 2009 Code Watch

I just emailed my AAA agent to give her a heads up on the fact that a better code might be coming out.

Our final payment is due Nov. 22, and she even explained to me that if I didn't find a code before that date, she could refund the diff. onto my credit card.

And since I got the Disney Visa (yaya!) I also get 0% on my vacation. Yay!

If I have a res. with Disney already and see that AAA is lower...do I have to cancel my res. and book a new one with AAA or can they transfer the reservation? I have an All Star Music booked already and AAA offers Pop Century.....which is better? Opinions please!

This is incorrect. For 2009, the value discount for AAA went down to 15%. I have one. Allears.net has the discount schedule and it clearly stated 20% for 2008, which is what I was expecting. When I called for my reservation the day the rates came out, I got 15%, and that has been verified now on Allears.

Pop Century has its own bus, while the all stars sometimes have to share a bus. If you are going at a crowded time of year, then Id pick POP. If you stay at an All Star, Sports gets picked up first and dropped off first when all 3 All Stars are sharing a bus.

I am officially in...I am secretly planning a trip for the end of January, and my husband is going to freak out when he finds out. :scared1: It is a lot of fun making all these plans, but PLEASE give us a code for January! Don't they know we have to make plans??? I am hoping for 40% off or free dining. My fear, though, is that they won't offer much because they have already been doing so much through December. I don't think they want to make a standard of having such good deals throughout the year! Anyone else having those fears??

Kbbunny - good luck finding airfare from MSP...cheapest I have found is $219 pp on Airtrain for the end of January. I guess it is better than some, but I REALLY wish we could get other airlines that could offer lower rates!!

I so had to laugh when I read your post. You are not the only Minnesota mom planning a "secret" vacation for her family in January! I am scheming and planning, like a good wife and mother does...behind her families back!:rotfl: We were going to avoid a winter vacation as we just finished a very expensive remodel, but we haven't been to WDW since Oct 2007 and I am dying here! If I can get a decent discount, we are going, and I'll have to find a way to break it to my DH.:worship: :confused3 :lovestruc
I have been watching AirTran prices too. I think from this market that $219 might be about the best we will be able to do. I am looking at 1/24 through 2/1, and so far AirTran sales have been through 1/30 only, so I am keeping on watch! Gook luck with your planning!

We already have our room reserved (and package set up) for our Jan 4-10 trip. If I pay in full before a code comes out, will Disney give me a credit back to my credit card?

Hello blanq!! I am hoping to go January 22-28 - almost a year after our very first trip. It is seriously all my kids talk about!! I have a little stash of cash...hopefully it will be enough to convince my husband we can treat ourselves with the rest!! I would really like to see free dining - I think that would make is more manageable! But worse case scenario...my MIL works for Holiday Inn and I may see if she can get us a friends/family rate for a hotel nearby. I know...not Disney, but it gets us there! :goodvibes
Who knows..maybe we'll see you there!

Honestly, I haven't done the math, but my nightly rate is $68 and change. I thought I was getting 20%:confused3

I got 20% off my value (POP) resort for Jan. 8-12th with AAA. We booked as a package with tickets and DDP.

My AAA rate for Jan 3-10 POFQ waterview (std not available) $139.20/nt taxes in.

You got 20% off as well lollipop...regular rate for water views are $175ish at the moderates.

My savings would only be about $80 to switch from WDW travel to AAA and from All Star Music to Pop Century...............is it worth the hassle of switching or wait and see what other Jan codes may come out?

Very cool! I do hope we can join you. You opted to skip Jersey week, and try for January instead? We have traveled to WDW quite a few times over the MLK week, but never before in later January. I think it would be the perfect time to go.

I think that the last week in Jan will be perfect! I hope that free dining, or some other great promotion, comes through to make an onsite stay more possible for you; but, even if you end up staying at a Holiday Inn you will get to spend your days at Disney!:cool1: I am glad to hear you have a stash of cash started...you are a few steps ahead of me. So...I wonder how DH might feel if I tell him we are going to WDW and then ask him how he might feel about putting in some more overtime?:rotfl: So, where in MN are you anyway?

:) Since my daughter is 15 months old we have an open schedule. I'm looking forwad to some "quiet" time at WDW!

I too got 15% from CRO for a AAA discount at Pop.
