....the 'tecchies' put in less room in your siggie (mine too...), so you'll have to redo yours to fit it in the allotted space...

Thanks - I think I figured it out - now to see if it's back!

Help Please. I saw that there was a discount code, can any one give me that code or send me to the place where I can find the code. I want to make my reservations for July soon.

Thanks so much

Hi Everyone!

Just returned from 4 nights at AKL and 5 nights at AKV 1 bedroom savanna view room Oct 19th - 28th. We had a great time and the resort is still in great shape and as beautiful as ever. We had a great stay. No issues at all with Mousekeeping or Cast Members. EVeryone was very kind.

If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Here are some pictures of our villa and the view from our room:

I posted this question a few pages back but it may have been overlooked

I booked a standard room and I was just wondering where on the map these rooms are located? I figured I would look on the bright side, if I don't have a pretty view maybe at least we'll be close to the lobby! :goodvibes

Most standard rooms are located in the Ostrich and Giraffe Trails, facing towards the parking lot. As those trails are shorter, you are more likely to be not too far away from the lobby. However, I would suggest to request Giraffe Trail as this will get you close to lobby, restaurants (you can walk across the poll area) and bus stop (direct exit to the path down to the bus stops).

But from recent reports it seems that they reclassified a few savannah view rooms as standard view, especially those at the very far end of the trails where you really don't see that much of the savannah. So this would be a nicer view, but far away!

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Now that is the only bad part of planning a surprise trip. I can't drag out the suitcases!! All I can do right now is toss a few things into the suitcases in the attic - which is a feat in itself to get to the crack in the pile o' stuff where the suitcases are living right now. Unfortunately I will not be packing much until the week we leave! :scared1:

Hey, where the heck is my ticker??
36 days to go!

Our trip is a surprise trip too...for the kids. But they're so young...they won't think anything of having a couple pieces of luggage stashed in the corner. And they won't actually witness the packing, or see the contents of the luggage, so they'll think it's empty. :)

We won't be able to get away with that kinda stuff much longer.....they're growing up so fast.

My wife and I have already begun seperating out what goes in which bag in preparation for the "luggage moving". :)

I loved, loved, loved our standard view room. It was 3rd floor giraffe trail, all the way at the end of the hallway. So, our balcony overlooked the parking lot. Who cares? We were so close to the bus stop, we could spit on it(not that we did, gross). We also were close to the Pool/food court area.

If you are talking about the "infamous" 40% off code - that was offered back in January (I think) and has long expired. Keep checking the Codes and Rates board for July codes, as well as the mousesavers website. Right now I think the only codes out there are for Jan-Mar 2008.

You know, I *might* be able to get away with getting the "adult" bag packed. They wouldn't think anything of one suitcase amid the clutter in our bedroom. But their suitcases are a surprise too - I found Star Wars suitcases on sale at Target last year - they are going to LOVE them! I thought about pulling them out and putting a blanket over them but I don't want to give anything away. At 5 and almost-7, they are getting pretty savvy. I've had to put the Disney guidebooks away because they seemed to be getting suspicious. "Mom, why are you always reading those if we're not going for a long time?" And that was from the 5-year old! Yikes! :scared:

Hi I'm new here, at this thread I'll be going to the AKL in 7 days......so excited

I have been reading alot about BUGS :scared1: at this resort, but it seems the reviews only aim towards AKL, is there really alot of bugs here (maybe because if the animals) would love to know from someone that just came back. I'm not a big fan of bugs.

Don't worry. I am not a fan of bugs either and the only bugs that I have seen at WDW are love bugs if I go during October or May. I stayed at AKL in May and didn't see a bug.

I was so disappointed that no pool view rooms were available for my dates for the discount code that just came out! And after thinking long about it, Carola and I decided that we really would like to save the money and therefore decided to settle on the available standard view room. My travel agent informed me that we could get a pool view with bunk beds, but this really did not make any sense to us as we are two adult friends. And now my travel agent informs me that when she called to change our reservation the cast member worked some disney magic :wizard: and got us the discount for the normal pool view room!!!!!! And saved a lot of money!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Great news, Flossbolna! We have loved our pool view rooms. I'm excited about staying savannah view this time, but I have no problem with the pool view rooms. Have a great trip!

Congratulations on starting the Disney magic early!

We will be there in a 1 br in December and I cannot wait! How many bathrooms are in a 1 br?

...I've stayed here several times, and, NO BUGS!

...not a fan, either!:scared:

Just booked AKL for next May. Will be the first time to stay there. The first 5 days savanna view and the last two days club level. A couple questions:

Is there a fairly recent list that shows which animal is at which savanna? In particular, zebras.

Is the Sunrise Safari still on Sunday and Thursday? I have booked the club level in hopes of being able to do the Safari. If I can't get it then I will just change to savanna.

I'm not sure about the animals/savannas as they had moved some animals around during the construction.

The Sunrise Safari is still Sunday & Thursday. :thumbsup2 Since you've made your reservation, email IPO (include your Club Level reservation #). Tell them what you want, and they will take good care of you. :cloud9:
