Kimmar in case I miss you later, have a wonderful & safe trip! I look forward to hearing about your trip & seeing lots of pictures.

Did you keep track of how many extra zebra domes & drinks you need to have for all of us :teeth: ....

...well, :confused3 there goes my "Special K" Diet, right out the window....

Kimmar Can you believe you go tomorrow?
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I hope you have a wonderful trip and think of all of us Jamboer's while you are enjoying Zebra Domes and Victoria Falls Mists. I hope you and your family have a safe and magical vacation :goodvibes I will be looking forward to hearing about your trip and seeing all of the great pictures when you return!

That is a super achievement. Now you only have to plan your packing and spending money. I wish I could say the same. When is your trip? Have you ever stayed at AKL before?

we have never stayed at AKL- last year we went there to eat at Boma and absolutely fell in love with it. Never would have thought it would be our kind of place, but it is so beautiful. When the free dining came out for this year, and we realized with the savings we could afford to upgrade to a deluxe, we JUMPED at the chance for AKL and never looked back!!! lol...it has led to some serious penny pinching, but it will definitely be worth it once we get there!!! I have almost a 100 dollars in disney rewards, and i have my disney monorail bank I have been putting money in since we got back from our last trip that has several hundred dollars in it, so hopefully I will be good on spending money...packing....well, that is another story altogether....I fear I will be packing the night before/morning of... We are driving down Sept 22nd or 23rd (crossing my fingers for the 22nd!!) and checking into AKL on the 24th. I can't wait!! :Pinkbounc

:goodvibes  :cool1: Have a great trip Kimmar! And remember to leave some zebra domes for me to!

One week from tonight and DS & I start our 3 night stay at AKL (after spending 5nights at VWL and before our 6nights at BCV)

Kimmar, I wish we were having dinner at LeCellier on Sunday but got out voted. Hope you have a wonderful meal!

Only after eating at Boma in January did I decide that I would like to stay at AKL one day and that day is 6 days away.

newholidayx2, have a great trip! We are checking in to AKL on the 17th also for 5 nights (wish it was more) maybe we will see you there.

Guess what?! I called Disney again this morning to see about getting into Boma the night of Sept. 27th. Of course, still booked. But the CM said Disney was adding some extra hours because of the dining plan so she punched in some code and sure enough she said "it worked...how about 6pm?" I told her I loved her and thanked her up and down, but then, uh-oh...it wouldn't let her make the ressie!! She tried a few things, put me on hold a few times, then had to tell me (what I expected I would hear): the computer shows the availability because of the extended hours during free dining, but it won't let her actually enter it. In other words, the dining hours will be extended for that time frame (like they just were until Sept. 4) but since it hasn't been released yet, I can't get my ressie.

Time to start stalking the boards and phone lines, hoping for a shot at an open time slot for Sept. 27th!! popcorn::

Have fun all you people getting to go this week. Lots of pics and trip reports upon return. :sunny:

shyjade- I hope you get in Boma is a must for us.

I did get some information if anyone is interested from Juanita in the IPO yesterday about the 6th floor rooms. There are 12 rooms on the 6th floor. 6 pool view that are smoking optional and 6 savannah view that are non smoking. The balconies are with slats not half walls and have a thatched room that might "slightly" impede the view. They all face the sunset savannah. She said it is not as pretty as arusha but has alot of animals because it is near the watering hole. So I have decided to stay on the 6th floor and Juanita assured me I will love it. Now I am happy. :thumbsup2

We also booked the sunrise safari. I hear this is great. Any comments from people who have done this would be great!

My family and I are going to AKL at the end of the month. :cheer2: This will be our 1st visit there as well as our 1st time in a deluxe. Is there any special that is a not to miss to do at this resort? Any tips/suggestions would be great.
Thanks. :)

Good luck! I hope you can get your ADR's at Boma :wizard:

You will have a wonderful time! There are lots of activities & things to see here. Check the activity board in the front lobby for times. There are a few posts on here about all the different activities, maybe a search would pull them up for you, enjoy!

Yeah, I think she is there by now!!!! :cool1: OK, so you can't just leave us wondering???? :confused3 Do ya wanna share your news???

Hi All!

I just read on another thread that Pop is expecting 2000 people to check in on Sun. Not sure if this is a rumor/exaggeration/etc. However, doesn't AKL share buses with Pop? We're arriving on Sunday. Does this mean that the bus will be packed and a nightmare to have to wait at each stop for everyone to get off and get their bags, etc.? Not looking forward to that.

Also, I read about the tables being packed for dinner and stuff. How was the crowd level last year right at this time? Those who just got back last week said that there was usually a half hour wait and no need for fast passes for the most part....
