JAMBO! The UN-official AKL Thread ~ UPDATED(short film/pg 8 & slideshow/pg 12) Part 2

See I am getting forgetful-I just meant to ask a question in my previous post and I got all distracted...

Does any one remember who's been to Zawadi Marketplace, if they sell the plush caracters in safari gear? (I'm pretty sure they do-I remember seeing them in someone's photo...I think... )

We are going to do Donald's Breakfastasurus (sp?) and the night before I wanted to give the kids something in anticipation of it...

(We're doing 2 character breakfast-Donald's and Lilo & Stitch at Ohana's in the Poly-I've already procured them stuffed Lilo and Stitch along with Disney Hawaiian Shirts, 75% and 60% off curtesy of the most recent sale at our local Disney store... )

So in the time honored tradition of the embarrassing mom thing and getting super cute photos-I wanted to get some cute things to give them the night before Donald's and since it is Safari themed, I thought that the Zawadi Marketplace at our own beloved AKL might be a great source...anyone remember anything appropriate... Wendy I remember that you had gotten your son a really cute safari suit-but I think it was on clearance... DS would wear it since he'll be 4 but DD will be 12 and while a really good sport about most things...probably wouldn't although you never know...she can't decide day to day if she wants to be little or big...

Anyhow if anyone has any ideas-send them this way...

NNNNoooooo! I was hoping to watch the nip/tuck season 4 premier while on vacation. I will have to be patient and wait untill it starts in the UK.

Actually, as many times as we have eaten at Boma, we have never eaten 'breakkies' there....but we WILL in August....

Oh my goodness...I thought I was the crazy with the never ending to do list-something to do with my lack of organizational skills... which is kind of funny because my plans for Disney are looking pretty decent...

Wendy-we didn't get DD uniforms yet-thanks for the reminder...we did get the school supplies...and I don't begrudge her anything for school but my haven't school supplies haven't gotten pricey and elaborate?...I don't remember having having half the things she uses...and I'm not that old...well maybe I am being a member of the '66 club... ...

Lord, I know, my DS is going into 1st grade and his school supply list is an entire 8.5x11 sheet!!! Even last year he had to have a TON of things!!!! I'm with you, I don't remember my other boys having to have all this stuff!!! It's insane, I probably spend at least $50 on supplies, then the registration fee (every year), uniforms, NEVER ENDING things coming home from school during the year that cost unGodly amounts of $$$ ............. It's really getting crazy!!

yes they do have the animals in safari gear.

Hey Patricia, You know, I don't really remember seeing the plush's with the safari outfits at Zawadi!!! I actually got DS's Safari Mickey off Ebay!!! I know that Zawadi DOES have the plush -- but I don't recall seeing the Safari ones. It seems like I remember when I bought DS's, that the guy on Ebay told me they were discontinued....... maybe he just meant the one we got, and I know for certain I didn't see IT while at Disney. ( It is a plush safari mickey, in a safari outfit, hat, brown boots that tie, binoculars around his neck). We did get his Pal Mickey a Safari outfit from DD, it's cute and has a hat and binoculars as well, Mickey even signed it at AK. I have a photo of him signing it, and on video!!! The outfit I did get at Zawadi, and Yes, it was on sale!!! It is amazingly cute, here's a photo of it -- Don't look at me, I was "GOOFIN" around!!! LOL

In the pic you can see his "safari hat" too, we got that at Zawadi as well, and he got an AKL Lodge Pin for it. Maybe your DS would like an AKL Safari Hat?? I"ll look and see if I can find some better pics to upload. I'd suggest looking on Ebay, I got a lot of DS's things for his "arrival basket" on there!!! I got his Epcot Passport, HUGE White Mickey hand gloves, sorcerer hat, the blue one with light up ears, Pal Mickey, Camera, tons of stuff, I'll see if I can find those pics to post. Also, check Peggy's site, she may have some new stuff........ I know DS is wanting that Pirate Mickey plush now........

Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted. I heard from Don at AKL Concierge today, he booked the sunrise safari for us (December 14 - DD12's Birthday) and CRT for breakfast on the 15th and Chef Mickeys for dinner on the 15th.

I want to book the Candlelight processional package but the dates aren't out yet.

Still a lot to figure out and think about... I am excited about this trip, travelling with my DD and 2 people who have never been to Disney before

I think I'll skip the MVMCP this year, it was so crowded last time I went, too crowded.

This is my first post on this thread, although I've been lurking on it for awhile now!

On our last trip in March, we had dinner at Boma and absolutely fell in love with the AKL. We're going back in June '07 and for the first time there will be five of us, so the natural choice was to stay there.

I'm looking very forward to it and will probably have lots of questions in the upcoming months!

Wait a minute - I feel one coming on now!

It's been awhile since I went in June. Does anyone know when I should start keeping my eyes open for discount codes?
