Angel, sorry you couldn't follow my link. I checked it, and I believe it does work. Be sure to open it at home. It is a huge project. I am amazed. It also tells you a bit about the restaurants opening in the villa part as well. Kinda neat to look at the floorplans too.

Angel16,

I'm so glad to hear from you. It's been such a long time that I thought you forgot about your friends on the Jambo Thread. I hope you and your family are in good health.

Can't wait to read your trip report and see all your pictures?

Kathy

Speaking of missing persons, where has Cass been?!

Wow that is a huge project! I have seen other sketches but that one was the best. I wish I wasn't saving money for a house and Grad school or I would totally by DVC when available to the general public. Oh well one day...

You sound like you have some big projects ahead of you that are a bit more important right now. Get through grad school and your "DVC Day" will come.

Jambo Everyone! I have looked through almost the entire thread and I didn't see this question.

We are headed to AKL for the first time in Oct. Which savanna do you love best and why? I was going to do Arusha but then my CM told me she stayed on Uzima for the first time (after staying at Arusha five times) and now that is her new favorite. I know everyone has different opinions just thought I would ask around. We have a 12, 8 and 7. Do you like the lushness of Arusha or quiet of Uzima (or some other reason)?

Count Down to Disney

Thanks for your two cents!:goodvibes

I have a question for all you AKL experts. It's been a couple of years since we've gone to Boma and we had dinner there. DDs and DH didn't really care for the food. We're doing the dining plan and I enjoy eating at the resort that we're staying at so I'd like to try Boma again. I would love to try Jiko but don't want to pay OOP or use 2 credits. Do you all prefer breakfast or dinner? And what do they serve for breakfast? And for those of you that have been several times does the dinner rotation at Boma change or does it tend to remain the same? Thanks in advance.

I must say I am truly on :cloud9: about staying at AKL for the first time, I've waited so long to make it a reality.

Thanks in advance:thumbsup2

Some "around the lodge" pics for latexscooter! Hope this helps a bit. My pictures don't do the lodge justice. It really is amazing-INCREDIBLY beautiful, and I couldn't get over the detail in everything!

Our King Sized Bed, Pool View, Non-Smoking Room (we loved it!):

Looking at all my pictures again make me miss the lodge so much!!! I have no clue when we'll be able to go back-DH and I are DETERMINED to get out of debt, so only cheap vacations until then...and by my calculations, it'll be about 3 years. Sigh...

At least I have this board to tide me over until then! :goodvibes

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Brookelizabeth for the pictures! I've seen all the pictures that are on the various boards but there are certain things that just don't seem to get across. Even though you apologized for the mess, I actually prefer pictures like that. Only when stuff, like computers, iPods, etc. are in their place do you get the idea of the proportionality of the space - how much room you actually do/or don't have.

Thanks.

ETA: Anymore pictures or Mara? Did your laptop fit in the safe?

No problem!! I added a couple more to this post too that I overlooked the first time thru.

I don't have any other pics of the Mara, now that you ask, I have no idea why I didn't take any down there! :confused3 While it's just like a "food court" type of place, if I remember correctly, it was still pretty neat looking...and we were in there EVERY day for coffee/snacks/etc....hmm...guess it's a good reason to go back! :woohoo:

We actually didn't use the safe-we didn't even realize where it was until the last day! lol But I think my laptop would have fit in there if I had tried. Each day I just put my laptop in my suitcase and my iPod with it.

Now for the extra pics!

The toiletries, there was Mickey soap too-had Mickey's face in it-very cute. I also loved the Mickey coasters for the cups on the vanity:

And a close up of the bathroom vanity-it was really beautiful, even though my pic is slightly blurry!

I have a question for you guys. I went to the party store today to buy things to decorater the room for the kids bdays (since no balloons) Is the room big enough to put a happy birthday hang down thing on each wall? I bought a mickey one, a lion king one, and a belle one today. I will probably buy one more if I will have enough room to put all three up. Also is there a table we could set a centerpiece on? We have a standard room at the moment.

Thanks brookelizabeth for all the wonderful pics ...
We will be at the AKL for the first time this Christmas (my parents stayed there a few years back when we were at POR ... my DH and DD's loved "visiting" grandma and grandpa at their resort.)
We are booked for a non-smoking pool view w/bunks ... 11 days/10 nights !!!!!!!!
I just can't WAIT :yay: :santa: :yay: :santa:

I am all set to be super spoiled for my 40th! Maggie

Disney8704 ... You guys are going to have a GREAT TIME ... Christmas is such a wonderfull time of the year and Disney makes it even more special. I wish I could copy you for your dates ... the first few weeks of December are slow, but the kids do not get out of school till the 21st (we are taking them out for three days to get the "value season" rate instead of holiday rate.)
Are you doing MVMCP ... we have done that twice and will do it again this year ... we love it and feel it is well worth the extra money (we are also big fans of MNSSHP.)
I too had to book the pool view due to availablity and money but I hope to get "upgraded" to a savannah view when we get there ... here some pixie dust for both of us ...
Only 270 days for you guys and only 283 days for us !!!!!!!!!!!!!

:santa: :yay: :santa: :yay: :santa:

Yes we are gonna do MVMCP. We are also celebrating our anniversary as well. Its actually in august but we decided to just celebrate it down there since all our money is being tied into this trip. We are actually celebrating our anniversary down there for last year to because DH was in Iraq during our anniversary. To make it feel more official, our anniversary is August 7th, so we are gonna do the celebration on Decemeber 7th by eating at CRT and doing MVMCP on the 7th as well. Why do I get the feeling once I go for Christmas time, Im not gonna wanna go any other time of the year? :lmao: Im very excited about this trip. DH and I are in much needed of a vacation. We havent had one for so long. I believe our last vacation was back in 2005. Last time we were in Disney was Sept 2003. If you go to http://www.nestersoft.com/timeleft/
you can download a countdown timer for your computer and I got it set to countdown by months, days, weeks, hours, minutes and even seconds. Like right now it says 8 months / 38 weeks / 269 days / 6469 hours / 388,188 minutes / 23,291,310 seconds

Hello everyone. I just wanted to say thank you for putting up w/ all of my questions. But as I had posted a few pages back we received the 40% code and I called today to book Poly. I figured we wouldn't ever be able to stay there paying rack rate and while I have the chance w/ such a great discount I better go for it. Thanks again but AKL is on our agenda next.

Kimmar you're the best and all of ya'll are great.

Okay, CJ's Mom, try this. Follow link, then click on "Maps to Resort." It is unbelievably HUGE!
