Hi girls! So it's been a very busy wedding weekend. But, first, here is our guestbook!
The more I look at it, the more I love it. I definitely made the right, albeit expensive, choice!
Let's see, what else. This weekend, DF and I went to the jewelry store and I bought my wedding ring! They only had a sample of it in yellow gold without the diamonds, so I don't have a picture yet, but I'll have it to show you all in two weeks. And, let me tell you girls, I am in love with it. It is GORGEOUS! It is... over-budget, but shhh.
We also finalized and addressed the invitations, and I am going out in the morning to mail them! I am SO excited! DF designed the invitations, and he did a terrific job:
I love them. We printed them at home on paper we got from Michael's--- and I had the worst experience at Michael's ever. I returned two packages of rocks for the centerpieces and they refused to give me full credit for them even though I had my receipt, and the cashier was CLUELESS and it took us 15 minutes to check out even though there was only one person ahead of us in line. UGH I'm getting so mad just thinking about it.
Speaking of centerpieces, I made a last minute change to them! You know how they're all resting in clear vases with rocks? Well, I decided that was kind of complicated, and it was way too easy to tell when the topiaries were a little lopsided. SO, I decided I wanted to use different, not clear vases. I popped into Goodwill (oh yes!) and bought these little beauties:
And all 7 cost $7 total! No, they're not exactly the trendiest things in the world, but I feel like they definitely match The Attic. They would not work in a Grand Floridian ballroom, but they really work for The Attic. We cleaned them up today, and I wanted to show you all this one. It's the most bizarre:
Oh yes, that IS a swan vase!

I'm growing oddly attached to it though. Who knew. I still need 2 more vases; I need to find another Goodwill!
Anddd my pretty blue dress came in. I was SO nervous because of how mean the shop had been to me, and they said over the phone that I -had- to try it on in the shop, but that wasn't happening. Thankfully, they didn't. They weren't exactly nice to me (they had that "bridal snob" attitude going on), but I got my dress and left. And here's a SUPER awkward picture Chris took of me in it!
I still like it a lot.
I also got our ceremony together and emailed it to Rev Jack, and I'm sending him a snail mail copy in the morning. We're just using his basic non-religious ceremony; nothing fancy. I wanted to write my own ceremony, but I'm just too tired, and his is lovely anyway.
Oh! Chris's best man ordered his tux already!

We didn't even have to bug him; he just went on his own. I kind of wanted to give him a hug.
Well, I can't think of anything else, but it was a productive weekend, as you can see! I finished grading papers too--- I'm pretty beat. You know, I'm glad I'm in school right now because the weeks go by SO quickly, but I'm also trying to cherish the anticipation. But it's SO hard, I just wanna be married and go flounce around in my pretty pretty princess dress!
Have a good week, gals! I'm sure I'll update soon!
