Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

:yay: I'm so glad you got a chance to post about your shower. It looks like y'all had so much fun! I really like what they did with the decor. Your bridesmaids did an awesome job!! You should be so proud. It makes me wish I actually had friends!! :rotfl:

Love the new necklace you got! And you look so cute in your tiara!! I'm glad you took lots of pics.

Btw, I'm REALLY glad your baby is ok. I hate it when mine are sick. It's so sad.

i'm glad your doggy is going to be okay :) it's scary since they can't talk to you and tell you what's wrong :cutie: your shower looked like lots of fun!

I know! It's just so scary when they're sick because we love them so much. <3

Wow the parties looked like so much fun! I love that it was really a surprise. :) All the details are so beautiful...and those cupcake teacups look SO YUMMY. I'm pretty sure I stared at that picture for a good 5 minutes wishing it would materialize right in front of me. :rolleyes1

And HOORAY for the Belle Designer Doll--she looks SO BEAUTIFUL. I love it with Mrs. Potts and Chip next to her too. I can't wait to get my Mulan one! Hehehe. :yay:

I know--- Richelle did a great job of capturing their foodporn-ness. :lmao: And I wanna see your Mulan doll--- I actually thought of you when I bought my Belle doll! The CM helping me out told me Mulan was her favorite and couldn't wait for her to be released. :D

I finally had a chance to catch up on your PJ and color me jealous - your Disney Dooney is super cute!! I'm glad to hear that things are moving along pretty well with your wedding and I know I'm just going to burst into tears when I see your pictures afterward :grouphug:

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your family. We have had a bit of that too. Some people just don't get Disney and they feel like they need to knock us Disney lovers down a peg. Misery loves company, you know? And let's face it, going to WDW is expensive even at the Value resorts. That's been the main complaint among the complainers in our family. I say ignore them and have a wonderfully magical wedding. You deserve it and it's your one day to be a princess. It takes much more effort to frown than it does to smile :)

I agree completely! Family is so irritating, right? I can't wait to see your wedding pics!!!!

Oh, I did not get the necklace... it's a bit out of budget for me right now. :( But it's so pretty, right?? And you should have come to my shower and hung out with us! It's only... 800 mi from you. That's all.

So I said I wasn't going to update this thread with yet another whine, but I had an AWFUL day!

So, I got a late start today because I didn't have to be anywhere until 1:00. I left my house at 12:30 to take the doggie for a walk first, and I turn the corner to where I parked my car... and my car isn't there. Cue hysteria. I walked around the block to see if I forgot moving it, but it was NOWHERE. I called Chris, asking him if he moved my car. Nope, Chris had not moved it. I then called my dad to see if he had gotten a call or anything about my car being towed (my car is in his name), but it was 1:00 in the afternoon and my dad was rip-roaring drunk and was no help at all. (I almost broke down at this point, I swear.)

So, in my nervous breakdown-ness, I somehow had the sense to call the milwaukee impound lot before calling the police. I was on hold for a good ten minutes, and I was supposed to discuss a presentation I have to give on Tuesday with my Victorian professor at 1:00, so I had to send her an email that, unfortunately, that I wouldn't be there. (She understood.) I finally got to talk to a real live human at the impound lot and, yes, my car was there.

Apparently, my car got towed because I had a few unpaid parking tickets (I just forgot to pay them, I swear I am not a deadbeat!!!) and because my car was parked too close to the crosswalk, even though it wasn't. They gave me no notice or anything. No letter, no phone call, no knock on the door--- nada. Car there one minute, gone the next. And, to pay all of my bills and the tow fee, it is costing me $400 that just wasn't in my budget right now... thank god I have a pretty decent savings right now. AND I still don't have the car because my dad has to fax over a notarized letter authorizing me to pick up the car because it's in his name. I won't be able to get the car until late tomorrow afternoon when Chris gets home, and it's an extra $20 a day for every day I don't get the car.

I just really don't need this right now. I'm brokish and swamped with school work (I shouldn't even be typing this--- I should be asleep!!!) And I still needed to get to class, but I was freaking out and crying hysterically and I couldn't figure out how to use the bus system, so Chris used his lunch hour to take me to work. <3

It was just a bad, no good day and I needed to share it with someone--- and I needed to get that all out. Now, to reward you for listening to my "first world problem," here are some engagement pictures that Randy sent me:

Your bridal shower looked amazing! I love that you have the Mrs. Potts and Chip china! I should've bought it when they came out!

I'm so so sorry about your day. I would've been totally freaked out. I'm glad Chris came and got you! :hug:s!

On a happier note, your engagement pictures are just gorgeous!!! AND, we are shoe twins! I love love love my pink glitter Toms!

ugh-- boo to your day. on the bright side--your pictures are fabulous :)

hope it gets better!!

Just joining in! I'm from CT as well - Trumbull in case you are curious. I've read all our your PJ and I've wanted to comment on so many things! Your plans sound wonderful, your dress is gorgeous and what a nice bridal shower! The Haunted Mansion is my favorite ride, too! Sorry to hear about your car. I hope that gets taken care of soon! My DF just got his Masters and although I didn't do it myself, I witnessed the stress of classes, teaching, etc. I'm so impressed you are doing all that and planning a wedding with so many great DIYs! And I hear ya when it comes to FMIL issues!

Yay! Another person with a lenox collection haha my boyfriend got me the mrs. potts & chip and then i found the lumierre and cogsworth at my local lenox outlet store for $10 each! - it took 6 months to get them both but it was worth the good deal.

Your engagement photos are adorable! -this is probably going to be an unpopular opinion- I usually don't like Randy's work but now that I see it unedited/lightly edited I think its just his style of editing I don't like because these shots did come out great :goodvibes

I'm so sorry to hear about your bad day :( I've been there, my car got towed a few years ago because the registration expired that day. I actually thought it had been stolen so I called 911 and they tracked it down for me. That was an embarrassing conversation! But I learned my lesson, I always pay it now right when the notice comes :)

But on a brighter note, your engagement pictures are SO beautiful. You both look so happy and in love :lovestruc I can't wait to hear more!

Hey Jackie, just caught up on everything.

Your clutch bag is so beautiful, I want one! :goodvibes

Your bachelorette party looked fun, love the tiara,

everything at your bridal shower looked great, I love the little tea cups with flowers in and the cupcakes in the tea cups are so cute.

I love the designer dolls, they're amazing. I really want the Ariel one.

Your engagement piccies are lovely, Randys done a fab job with them.

oh one more thing... I hope Smokeys ok! xxx

So you're pics look awesome!! :goodvibes I do believe I see some glittery Toms on those feet!! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much! It was a bad day, but I'm mostly over it--- still bitter though! :confused3 Oh well, chalk it up to life lessons, right?!

And OMG I LOVE MY TOMS! They killed my heels for 3 weeks, but I bought some heel guards off of amazon and now they are the best thing in the world. I wear them every day--- even to teach!

ugh-- boo to your day. on the bright side--your pictures are fabulous :)

Thank you, Deena! <3

Oohhh I've been to Trumbull! I think I went to the mall there once to go to Build a Bear! Thank you for reading through this beast of a PJ--- and congrats to your DF on getting his Masters. I thought I knew what stress was; and then I entered grad school! :lmao: The wedding DIYs have actually had a calming effect on me... who knew, right?

I agree--- I definitely learned my lesson. I'm just glad my poor little car baby is okay. (I'm very attached to my Bug, lol!) And thank you, Shelly--- your wedding is SO SOON!

Thanks for catching up! I wish I had bought the Ariel one--- she's $300 on ebay now. :( And I think you asked me what we call fancy dress--- I think we just call it a costume or dress up? Fancy dress is a MUCH better term. And Smokey is feeling MUCH better... he just has a cough and is a bit of a baby about it!

*******
Just a quick note to say thanks to all who commented--- it made me feel a lot better. :goodvibes I'll be posting my Floral BEO and my MOH's dress within a day or two; I'm just too tired to do it today!

So I had a huge update written yesterday, but then I accidentally clicked out of the screen! Don't you hate when that happens?!?!

Anyway, I promised my Floral BEO. Here you go!

Dessert Party Décor: Castle Confetti. Cost: $12

Total Cost, with tax: $993.65

I do need to make some changes to this, like with the bag and the card box. She forgot to include crystal mickeys for the girls' bouquets, so I told her to add that. I also decided I need to get table numbers directly from Disney--- I just don't have the motivation to make my own anymore. (It's been a hectic semester already, and finding cute, yet cheap, frames is proving to be a PIA!)

I also debating what to do about Becky's bouquet, as I promoted her to Matron of Honor yesterday because she's put SO much work and effort into the wedding. She doesn't get a monetary raise, unfortunately! She may, however, get a slightly larger bouquet. (By the way, I love using daisies; they're relatively inexpensive!)

Anyway, as of right now, DF and I are under budget. Christy emailed me the cost of our cake today and it's $450, which is a bit less than I thought it would be. As it stands with our guest count of 30 , we're at roughly $9500, but that number is really more like $9000 because I don't think we're even inviting people anymore. In other words, we have some $$$ to blow! :cool1: We're seriously considering adding on the Model A Ford--- it's so cute!! Any other thoughts or suggestions? We already have a TON of food (I think we have roughly 10 items on our buffet, plus the pre-reception) and I don't want to spend money on a soda bar because IMO it's not worth it for brunch and we have the lemonade and iced tea instead.

Onto the next topic: My MOH's dress came in and I LOVE it. The colors look -so- good together and she looks sooooo pretty.

photo7-2-1.jpg

Isn't she pretty?! :D I hope the other girls' dresses come in soon! Speaking of which... Lacy FINALLY paid me back for her dress. :cool1::cool1: (It only took her a month and a half...) I am very thankful, as that extra $400 last week definitely kicked my budget's butt a little.

Oh, I wanted to mention how cute DF is too. He actually paid Lacy's (remember, DF's sister) share for the bridal shower, but he didn't want anyone to tell me. He didn't want Lacy to owe Becky and Richelle any money, and he knew I was stressed about it. I guess I'll keep him around...

This has been a very random update. I apologize, but just a little bit. :D Now it's time for some more engagement pics! I've been making a guestbook with them, the same one that Danielle made actually, but I think I've gone a bit off the deep end using the Disney stickers in it. I still love it though, and can't wait to order it.

Okay, this one is kind of awkward, but I like it a lot because Chris probably said something dumb and I'm laughing at him:

I love kissy pictures. :D

All in all, I'm really happy with how our e-pics turned out, but it was SO hot and sunny that day that it's hard to find one of DF where he's not squinting! (I don't seem to have a problem with that. He's just a baby.) I am SO excited for our wedding pictures now. Randy took 400 e-pics in an hour; I can't wait to see what he does in 7 hours!

Well, I think that's it for now, ladies. Thanks for reading!

I love all of your pics!!!!!!! I need your dress! I think you have done an amazing job with the budget. :thumbsup2 A car would be cool to add, get the pink one! (I don't know if that's what you are going for, when I mentioned the pink car to DF he said NO!!!!) the BM dress is really pretty. Can't wait for more!

Jackie,

Glad to hear Smokey is doing better. We have 3 cats and they are our whole world and whenever there is a health issue it is so tough.

Sorry about your bad day! That stinks! Hope it is all settled now.

Your e-pics are fabulous! Love the Dooney bag. That was my 40th birthday present to myself last year. You and I seem to like the same things. :) In regard to the Swarovski, I think it is a sign. Hope it works out for you.

Great job on the floral BEO and coming in under budget. Can't wait to see how you spend the extra dough.

I wanted the pink Rolls too--- but DF said no!!! :lmao: What do guys know?! We both like the model A Ford a lot though and it's a good $300 cheaper than the pinkie at least!

Your MOH dress looks really pretty! The colors do look wonderful together. :lovestruc

Also, YAY! I can't wait to see how your guestbook turns out!!! Those stickers are addicting.

Ohhhhhh, and I wanted to tell you Monday, but I wasn't on here...But I never got the Mulan doll! :headache: She sold out too fast. :guilty: I was automatically sent into a bad mood and my mother didn't know what was wrong with me. :confused3 Oh, well.

Love your bag! I just got the sketch wristlet and I love it. Your e-pics are great! Such a great location for pictures! :thumbsup2

Everything looks great! I can't believe how awesome the bridesmaids dresses look! Those colours go so good together!!! Also your engagement pictures are so nice! I really like the one where you're laughing! And I say get the car!!!

Jackie sweetie - Just catching up!!! Loving all the photos, you are the most darling couple!!!
Yay for coming in under budget!! It is very difficult to do!!! I know I've tried!! i think the Model T is an excellent idea!!! I have always loved it. It is so elegant!!
The BM dresses are lovely!! It seems to be the norm in the US for bridesmaids to pay for their own dresses right? Here in the UK, the bride (or whoever pays for the wedding) stumps up for the BM's dresses.
Love the bag - I have always wanted one of those!!
Getting ever closer now - how exciting!!
