Jackie and Chris's Wishes Wedding 1/6/12: SBP/Attic/SCP 5/11 Final Post- PJ Finished

I am in LOVE with that clutch!!! I checked out the rest of the collection too and might just buy some stuff for the shower as "big gifts". And maybe one for myself too! lol

Jackie sweetie - That clutch is to die for!!! I love the cards too. I don't think that the Disney Princess Designer Collection is available in the Disney Stores over here. We never get the good stuff!!!:sad2:

Hey Jackie!! That clutch is super cute!! :goodvibes

What great freakin luck that your reward points came through?!?!?! That will help knock some of those $$ off the final total.

Hope you have a wonderful shower!! Have lots of fun and enjoy everything... and don't forget to take pics!!

Love the clutch! I was thinking about buying that to use for my wedding day purse, but I decided I just don't wanna fuss with anything--but it's really great!!! I love how sparkly it is!!! :thumbsup2

Oh, and...you can't put an age limit on dolls. You're looking at the 23 year old with the LE Rapunzel doll, Cinderella Wedding Doll, Tiana singing doll, and Mulan and Shang classic dolls... :rolleyes1 (Let's just say I went a little carried away when my store closed...:lmao:)

I say if you have the money for them--buy the Designer Dolls you like! I'm SO buying the Mulan one!!! :lovestruc

So, you definitely convinced me to buy the Belle doll! :goodvibes I'm not entirely sure if both are in my budget. I've been trying to convince DF to buy Ariel for me, but he doesn't seem to agree with me. What the heck, right?!

I love that new stuff at the Disney Store! All of the dolls are beautiful - I wish I had the space to display one! When I saw them all displayed at my Disney Store I actually thought Pocahontas was one of the most beautiful ones. And the clutch is just too cute!

I need more places to display stuff too--- I have a teeny tiny apartment, yet DF and I keep buying stuff! Aw well.

I'm new to the boards, and JUST starting to plan our DFTW. I just read your entire PJ and I wanted to say how much I love everything you have planned! Your dress looks amazing on you, truly gorgeous, I can't wait to see it after alterations! Your centerpieces are adorable too! I can't wait to see everything you have planned become real! Congrats and great job!

Sabrina

Thank you for following along, Sabrina--- and thank you for your sweet compliments! I can't wait to read YOUR future PJ :)

OMG I just had to wipe my drool off the floor that clutch is amazing!!! So vintage looking too, my total fav :)

Vicki! Where have you been?!?! I missed you! And thank you... and remember girls, it was only $19.50! (Enabling...)

I am in LOVE with that clutch!!! I checked out the rest of the collection too and might just buy some stuff for the shower as "big gifts". And maybe one for myself too! lol

I agree--- I love EVERYTHING!

Awww. :( Can you order from the US online store? A lot of it is online too!

I know, right? I am SO thankful for those points--- and glad I could buy my dad's ticket. He's paying for the most of the wedding, so it's the least I could do.

And thank you--- I can't wait to write about my shower. :D

After months and months of searching, I finally decided on my wedding day bag last night, and I must say you have impeccable taste darling, because we've picked the same bag! And can you believe the price?! So awesome! And I say...go for the dolls. They are so beautiful, and they are "designer" dolls, so totally justifiable! You're making an investment in a Disney collectible! :thumbsup2

I LOVE that purse!!!! It's too cute. Unfortunately we don't have the designer collection at out Disney Store, either. I'm glad you found it though! And the notecards are gorge! Those would be perfect for shower stuff!

That clutch is amazing!! How have I not seen this collection? I love it! (Although I must say, my girl Snow White looks like a huge beotch!) :lmao:

That clutch is awesome!!!! It will be perfect for the wedding day!!!! And way to stick to the budget!! You are doing awesome.

Just jumping on your PJ! Your plans sound great!

And, I LOVE the clutch-- I was eyeing that at my local Disney store today but bought one of the mugs instead! ;) Your idea of giving out the notecards is genius!

Can't wait to read more!

Can't wait to read all about your shower!! You must get that written up before I leave!!

No you, my dear, have FAB taste! :lmao: And I bought the Belle doll, but not Ariel--- which I regret, because she's fetching a pretty penny on ebay already!

I LOVE that purse!!!! It's too cute. Unfortunately we don't have the designer collection at out Disney Store, either. I'm glad you found it though! And the notecards are gorge! Those would be perfect for shower stuff!

The collection is online at least--- you should totally buy stuff. I'm an enabler...

Without further adieu...

*******************************************
Hi girls! I am back from my super crazy weekend in CT! I wish, however, I was in a better mood: Smokey woke us up at 2:30am hacking and coughing, but he stopped after about a half hour so we thought it was just a hairball. As soon as he woke up this morning though, he was hacking and coughing again. :( DF is taking the day off to bring him to the vet (we have an appointment at 10:30), but I can't go because I have to teach and go to class. :( :( I just hope he's okay. We think it's kennel cough--- but we got him vaccinated! Here's a picture of him; I'm just so worried!

Anyway, onto some happier stuff--- our trip to CT. My MOH and bridesmaid had attempted to be sneaky and refused to tell me if we were doing anything together on Saturday night, but I TOTALLY knew we were. (Becky had advised me to "get dressed just in case.") We went out for a very tame bachelorette party, because I am a very time kind of gal. They DID get me a bride to be tiara though, which is good, because I demanded a tiara. (It's true.) For some strange reason though, my dad grilled Becky like I was a fourteen year old girl about to go out on a date with a boy who has his own car. Very strange, especially because he's known Becky since she was 5!

We went to my favorite restaurant at home, and then we went out for ice cream, and then headed to the casino. For those of you who don't know, my area of CT actually has the two largest casinos in the world... who knew, right? We didn't gamble, but we walked around the expensive, pretty stores. This is a SUPER awkward picture of me, but I found this necklace in Swarovski and I want it so hardcore! It even looks like it has little hidden mickeys!

We then proceeded to the Sky Bar, which is really more of a lounge..., which reminded me of the top of Spaceship Earth. We had one round of martinis, not because they weren't good, but because they were $13!

Me, making my toolish face:

We couldn't get a good picture of Becky, so I'm going to post her worst one:

And Richelle wins the award for Most Photogenic!

DSCN0154.jpg

We had to be home kind of early though because Richelle and Becky had a lot of setting up to do in the morning! It was a fun night though, and I really wish they could come back to Wisconsin with me. :( Although, I know both of them read this, so both of them should come visit, don't you all think? Just sayin...

Anyway, the bridal shower! No one told me what time to get ready for because it was supposed to be a surprise, but my dad kept nervously looking at his watch. After getting dressed, Chris drove me to the venue (even though he swore up and down he wasn't driving me there! Liar!) and we got there around 10:30. It was at this really pretty local country club, which I had actually been to before... for Chris's ex-girlfriend's 17th birthday 7 years ago! Random, right?

The girls did a BEAUTIFUL job setting everything up. The theme was a tea party, and they really nailed it:

DSCN0162.jpg

One of the favors: Tea bags with name on the front, and love quotes from my favorite books on the back. There's also green tea shortbread in here that Richelle made from scratch, which was absolutely fabulous!

And here's one of the table:

DSCN0164.jpg

There are teacups being used as flower pots, and each guest got to take one home. There are also wedding cake and flower candles, which everyone got to take home too--- but no one remembered to, so I have approximately 5,000 candles! :lmao: I hope they smell good!

And, Becky's mom made these: vanilla chai cupcakes in little teacup holders! They were both gluten free and amazing!!!

DSCN0167.jpg

My place setting: Mickey Wedding Ears! They might have been Becky's extra pair... :rolleyes1

DSCN0169.jpg

Oh! Becky's mom also made this for a card holder. I'm also going to use it at my wedding reception. She matched the colors EXACTLY, and it's absolutely beautiful, even if we did joke that it reminds us of a collection plate:

DSCN0168.jpg

Anywho, once I got there it was really awkward: everyone just stood there for what felt like eternity taking awkward pictures of me!! I'm not a picture person as it is, and having 5-6 cameras on me at once was a litttle too much, especially because I was just standing there? It was a very odd experience.

But, soon the awkwardness (on my part--- there was just some general awkwardness due to familial issues, but they tried hard to conceal it!) ended, and we got to eat. The food was super good, and I wish I had taken pictures, especially after all of the food porn I took during our disney trip! After dinner came presents--- and my most thoughtful presents were certainly from my bridesmaids. (Well, really from Becky and Richelle...).

Actually though, disclaimer: Richelle totally bought me naughty panties! She did it at dinner the previous night and tried to get me to hold them up, and she did it again at the bridal shower. When I refused to hold them up, she did it for me and went "ooOOOOoooo." And then did it again in front of my dad when he got there! :rotfl2:

Sorry for the tangent! Becky and Richelle gave me a teacup pandora charm, and lenox figurines of Mrs. Potts and Chip, thus rounding out the tea party figurine. I set them up next to my designer Belle doll, and it's just perfect:

DSCN0217.jpg

I just appreciate all of the work they did so much. I felt very loved. and am now hunting for some thank you presents--- which I will post pictures of after they get them, of course. Because even though they say I am nosy, they are TOTALLY nosy too!

On a side note, I didn't even have to talk to Chris's mom much, probably only about ten words! Interestingly, even though she's one of those people who takes pictures at everything, she was the only person there without a camera... and, of course, Chris went to go see his mom on Friday, and I was not invited. I've started to find her behavior laughable at least!

After the shower, I dragged Chris and my dad to the mall to go look for tuxedos! This is the tux we decided on, and my clothes hating dad actually picked it out:

1867CK_F07_DF.jpg

Chris will be in a white vest, with a normal tie. Everyone else will have bow ties; my dad will have a black vest, and the groomsmen will be in claret. All vests will be this houndsooth pattern I liked a lot. I think that's all there is to say about tuxes... tbh, they all look the same to me!

After tuxes, Chris went to see his dad and I saw my grandparents, and we left CT at 5:55am Monday morning. It was a whirlwind trip, and it's honestly kind of foggy in my memory! All in all, it was fun and exciting, but it's kind of bizarre that I won't see most of these people again until our wedding day!

Well, I have to go get ready for school. Thank you for reading, and please cross your fingers that our little Smokey is okay. I'll keep you posted.

Great update, Jackie! Looks like a fabulous weekend back home. The shower looks divine.

The necklace you tried on looks awfully familiar to me. Maybe it's because I am wearing it for my VR!! I think you loved it on my pj too! I think it has hidden Mickey's as well. Paul thinks I am crazy. :)

Hope Smokey is feeling better soon!

Jackie sweetie - What a gorgeous shower you had!! You are right, your girls really nailed it!! Particularly love the cupcakes!!! Sending love and pixiedust that your doggie will be feeling better soon!!!

Your updates are so hilarious! You and your snark keep me entertained! lol. The shower looks awesome! How did your friend's mom make that cake in a cup?? Also...I can't believe those drinks were 13$ apiece!!! You'd think you were at Disney :lmao:

Hope Smokey is feeling better!

First and foremost-- I am sending good vibes your way that your Smokey is ok! My doggies are my babies and I am a mess when one of them is sick. Hopefully your vet will have him feeling better in no time! Secondly, I love your shower!! It's so dainty and feminine! Gorgeous!

Jackie!!!! It looks like your trip home was amazing! I can totally tell you were at Mohegan Sun (by just looking at the pictures)! :rotfl: You looked so cute in your tiara!!

And your shower!!! Your girls did such a wonderful job! Those cupcakes look wonderful. And yay for naughty panties! :rolleyes1

haha! I didn't even realize it was the same necklace! I think that might be a sign.... :D

Thank you so much, Joanne! :)

I'm glad my snark makes you giggle--- it makes *me* giggle. DF always judges me because I laugh (hilariously, mind you) at my own jokes. And the cupcakes are actually in a silicone cup, so they were baked right in it! It's pretty neat, and my friend's mom gave me some so I could try them out myself.

Yes! We were totally at MoSun--- I grew up about 10 minutes from there, but now it's a novelty to go back!

********************************
I just wanted to say thank you for all the well wishes for the pup--- Smokey is a-okay! DF took him to the vet and got him some cough medicine and an antiobiotic, and they're pretty sure it's kennel cough. (The blood test comes back today though.) I just feel so bad for the poor little guy, and he just had his vaccination a few months ago! Hopefully he'll be back to his hyper, crazy self soon.

In wedding news, I got my Floral BEO and my MOH got her dress in! I'll be posting both in a few days--- life is a bit hectic with school stuff right now. Thanks again, lovelies!

i'm glad your doggy is going to be okay :) it's scary since they can't talk to you and tell you what's wrong :cutie: your shower looked like lots of fun!

Wow the parties looked like so much fun! I love that it was really a surprise. :) All the details are so beautiful...and those cupcake teacups look SO YUMMY. I'm pretty sure I stared at that picture for a good 5 minutes wishing it would materialize right in front of me. :rolleyes1

And HOORAY for the Belle Designer Doll--she looks SO BEAUTIFUL. I love it with Mrs. Potts and Chip next to her too. I can't wait to get my Mulan one! Hehehe. :yay:

I finally had a chance to catch up on your PJ and color me jealous - your Disney Dooney is super cute!! I'm glad to hear that things are moving along pretty well with your wedding and I know I'm just going to burst into tears when I see your pictures afterward :grouphug:

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble with your family. We have had a bit of that too. Some people just don't get Disney and they feel like they need to knock us Disney lovers down a peg. Misery loves company, you know? And let's face it, going to WDW is expensive even at the Value resorts. That's been the main complaint among the complainers in our family. I say ignore them and have a wonderfully magical wedding. You deserve it and it's your one day to be a princess. It takes much more effort to frown than it does to smile :)
